This place has everything the big box chains have, but it's locally owned and with that comes a real effort to cater to what customers want.

It's in cute, little downtown Newtown, tucked away near Pat's Colonial Kitchen, a homey, breakfast brunch spot. They carry some ol'school candies like Fruit Stripe gum, Whatchamacallits(I had no idea they still made those), along with assorted chock's and candies by the pound..enough variety to make everyone happy. i'm regularly in Newtown, but this was the first time i stumbled upon this little sweet spot..if you have a craving and happen to be nearby then this spot is for you.

We wish them great success there! I mention its neighbor because that is the way I first noticed this shop set back from the street. I came out of Duck Sauce and walking on the covered front porch I noticed the new store and went in to have a look. I didn't know that homemade chocolate would taste so good after a good spicy Asian meal, but it did! In fact, I suggest that these owners talk to each other and start to cross market their goods. A little chocolate delivered with the lunch or dinner bill would be a great touch (and better than the Andes Mints). A discount coupon for a quality Chinese or Thai repast with the purchase of $10. worth of candy, would also be a hot commodity. Maybe they are already doing that, but I did not see it. Come talk to me. S/P is a veritable wonderland of sweets set in a well appointed comfortable setting. Made to look "country," it succeeds in taking you away from the world outside and dropping you into a childhood daydream. Hard not to smile and salivate when looking at the enormity of the collection here, and reminiscing about those candies you craved as a kid. Yes. It is a little decadent, but it is so innocent that no one will turn you in to the diet police.

This review is specifically about an order placed through their website and the corresponding (lack…read moreof) customer service. In December, I wanted to give some of my coworkers a sweet gift while supporting a local business. Mueller's has a location a few blocks away from our office in Philadelphia so it seemed like a great match. (This is posted under the Rockledge location since that is where their customer service number rings). After I clicked the 'buy' button on the website, I received a weird error message and immediately sent an email off to the customer service contact since I didn't get a confirmation email and it wasn't clear if my order went through. Long story short - my card was charged, but the order was never fulfilled. I called their customer service number twice in four weeks and someone dutifully took down my name, phone # and order but never called back. Similar lack of response to inquiries sent to their customer service email (no response to 2 emails after several weeks). The "contact us" link on their website has had an error message on it for weeks so that doesn't work either. All told I've spent several hours dealing with this and my coworkers never got their chocolate that I paid for.

It's pricey, but well worth it. A Philly tradition, it's a must stop every time I'm back. The…read moreworkers are very nice. They make amazing varieties of chocolate pretzels. These make fabulous gifts!

They even carry Spanish saffron! There are so many interesting tea combinations. The staff is wonderful. They told me that if you don't see the size you want, they may have in the back or they can make it for you. The teas are loose leaf and are displayed in both large containers and in plastic packs of 2 oz or 4 oz. We purchased a 4 oz pack of Victorian chai which has floral undertones ($24) and a pack of 2 oz jasmine pearl tea ($14). The jasmine pearl buds are supposed to open up when you infuse it in hot water. (A friend of mine gifted me this from Singapore many years ago and I was happy to have found this again). The store has an online website as well because it is a franchise and if you don't see an item in the store, they will check the inventory online as well. I say start with a sampler and trust me you will find a favorite
