Love the service and how they redid the store!!! The meat and seafood is amazing. Highly recommend this store to anyone who hasn't been there before!!

Amazing supermarket!!! This place has an extensive hot food section with many freshly prepared choices to pick from. They have pasta salads and house made sushi. The dessert section is loaded with house made selections for your eating pleasure. I literally wanted to buy everything there today. It's an amazing, yet overwhelming experience. If you work around here and want to pick up some lunch or wanted to pick up an easy dinner, I would definitely recommend this place. They even have an old school shoe shiner in the entrance way. I just love the charm of this place! The prices are a little high for normal groceries, but it makes up for this in so many other ways. Go here and eat.

They told me that if you don't see the size you want, they may have in the back or they can make it for you. The teas are loose leaf and are displayed in both large containers and in plastic packs of 2 oz or 4 oz. We purchased a 4 oz pack of Victorian chai which has floral undertones ($24) and a pack of 2 oz jasmine pearl tea ($14). The jasmine pearl buds are supposed to open up when you infuse it in hot water. (A friend of mine gifted me this from Singapore many years ago and I was happy to have found this again). The store has an online website as well because it is a franchise and if you don't see an item in the store, they will check the inventory online as well. I say start with a sampler and trust me you will find a favorite

Carrying spices that are not easily found. For me personally it's green peppercorns-a vital ingredient for a beef sauce Ii make for the holidays. When you walk into the shop you're stuck by the masses wave of the stock but the friendly staff is happy to help you find hat you're looking for. What speaks best for this store is that when asking in other places in Lahaska for the pepper corns several places said "try savory spices' that's right, they're referred by potential competitors as the place to go. Not a 'I can order them' but 'Try this place...' That says a lot about them. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is a trip and you're going for something special, not general uses, I mean you can get paprika in the mega-mart. but for that odd ball spice, make the trip.

I have been ordering from Savory Spice for many years. Last year, they advertised a Black Friday…read moresale that simply said "Spend $100, Get $100". Great! It's the holidays, and these are good gifts. I purchased a gift set and waited for the code, which didn't come. Customer service informed me the $100 credit wouldn't be available until January. This was misleading when advertised as a "sale", but I figured I would wind up using the credits later on, and I went ahead and purchased another $100 gift bundle. Now I am trying to use the credits, and I've been informed that they are issued in $20 increments - ONE per order. I wrote to customer service because this is super inconvenient, but also prohibitive. Many of their items are more than $20. So anything I want to purchase over $20 (vanilla extract, gift sets, etc), the remainder has to be paid out of pocket by me despite having $200 in credit with the company. While they did send me a shipping code to use, they were entirely inflexible. Using the credits is labor intensive and restrictive to certain items, and I've had to go through and choose things based on price to add each cart up to $22, apply the codes, and then still pay the remainder. I'm extremely disappointed and I am no longer a Savory Spice customer. I will source herbs and spices from a company that values their customers and doesn't play cheesy games with "sales".

But this time was my limit!! All of the herbs I purchased were far from okay but the worst is the rose petals that are crawling with bugs as you can see from the holes in the picture and if you look close enough you can see the little bugs!! The chamomile flowers are absolutely disgusting as well as you can see by the gross, old, dead color!! I will never order from them again and will tell all my herbalist friends to stay clear!!

Penn Herb Company - Mixed Feelings, Honest Take…read more I was really looking forward to checking out Penn Herb Company, especially thinking it might offer more variety than what I've seen at Reading Terminal. And to be fair, they did have some cool options, a few new brands, and unique finds I hadn't come across before. Definitely a good spot if you're into wellness and herbal products it helped to take some time and read up on a few things. When we first walked in, the vibe seemed friendly and calm. My family and I (just the three of us) were really just browsing, not touching everything, and stayed together. But the energy shifted a bit. Only one older staff member acknowledged us--but she also seemed to be following us. We'd change aisles, and she'd change aisles too. At one point I asked, "Are you following us? If so, can you help me find the chlorophyll?" She did show us, but the experience rubbed me the wrong way. The price wasn't clearly marked as member-only, which I only realized later. Then, after she left, another staff member appeared in the same area--which made me feel profiled. Not a great feeling. At checkout, I gave my number to sign up for the membership, thinking I'd get the discount but I never received it, and no one explained why. Left feeling confused and a bit disappointed. This was just my personal experience, and maybe others have had better luck. But as someone who values both wellness and respectful service, this visit left me feeling a little let down.

I'd been to one before in Tennessee, but I was too full from dinner to want to try anything. Today, we were at the King of Prussia mall for an errand and passed the Pepper Palace and I happened to be carrying a water bottle so we thought, why not? The highlight of this place would, of course, would be all of the hot sauces lined up along the middle of the store that are available for tasting. There are bins of tortilla chips provided to sample the various sauces and salsas, and it's a great way to try before you buy. Ingredients are listed too, so if you're allergic to tomatoes and need something carrot-based, it's easy to spot these sauces. Personally, I hate the taste of vinegar and opted to try everything that didn't have vinegar listed as the first ingredient. Unfortunately, that did limit my options quite a bit. Our favorites were the Tres Diablos and the Black Rose. We had to cut our visit short because we had to attend to our errand, but we'll be back to pick up one- or both- of those hot sauces. My only major complaint was that there weren't any that had a little pineapple with a strong heat (fruits mask vinegar taste). I want that hint of fruit, but I'd still like enough heat to regret eating it later. I wish you could submit requests for future hot sauces!

First off, there were two people behind the counter, a young man and an older woman. I have never seen either one of them before. Usually, the staff wears green smock-style aprons with "The Larder" printed across the chest. These two people were not wearing aprons. When I got up to the register, I asked about a specific product's availability and was looked at like I was from another planet. I asked again and was given a quick, non direct, somewhat of an answer. Then after I paid, I said "thank you", to which both employees stood silent and turned away. No "you're welcome", no "have a nice day". That is definitely not the normal there. Also, I was not given a bag- I had to struggle carrying my purchases to the car. I hope the original owner is alright and was just off for the day. If today was any indication of how the store will be from now on, I think I will shop elsewhere. I hate to say what an unpleasent experience I had, as I have always enjoyed shopping here.
