I am ecstatic about my experience here! Very fresh produce, amazing bakery selection, and lots of fresh meal options for various dietary needs. There were several bakery options for those dairy-free and gluten-free and even sugar-free! They have a large selection of cheese, meats, and seafood too. Their drink stand offers ready-to-make smoothies, coffee drinks, and non-coffee drinks such as a chai frappe which I'd recommend! They also have seasonal items which sounded great. Over by the bakery corner, they offer ready-to-make crepes too. The staff was friendly and kind. I even found some fellow shoppers in the store to be friendly too! Shelves were restocked well which is saying a lot during a PANDEMIC! Checkout was very easy and quick (although I may have just been there at an ideal time of day). Overall, I'd say this store is well managed. Props to the team for making that happen! Also, for those unsure of what to expect, I'll say the following. The space is about half fresh foods/produce/made-to-order and half grocery aisles with some necessities and some specialty items mixed in. Be sure to examine the entire fresh foods area well, because otherwise there's some options that are easy to miss. They truly make best use of the space in my opinion! I only have two negatives to share: 1) the smaller parking lot with not too many spots available, which still worked for my needs. 2) a little pricier than your average grocery store (for some specialty items) but then again, I'd compare this more to a gourmet store or farm to table place where you're getting better quality and paying for it accordingly. With that said, I feel the prices are justified. Just note you would likely spend less on some items at a ShopRite, but a lot that's available here you wouldn't see in your average grocery store. Also, you'd receive better quality items (that aren't name brand) here than at your average grocery store including baked goods, fresh foods, etc. Overall, great experience! read more

I continue to give them another chance and they continue to disappoint me. The quality of the hot bar is not good. Then you get very unfriendly workers. I don't mean everyone. But a lot of them. Today I decide to order a sandwich. I get it back to work and of course not completely correct. No mayo and the tomato's are the ends and hard. Their sandwich's aren't cheap. Tried McCaffrey's yet again but the hot food bar was all dried out (at 12:45 pm - not 2 or 3 pm). The pasta was ok (rigatoni with vodka sauce) but the chicken (thighs) were dry and chewy. At $10 a lb - I expect better, please. Staff is always friendly. read more

If I lived in the area, this would be my go to market. It had a ton of veggies, meat, fish and things. Seemed like an upscale market.

I rarely reviews and rarely feel like disgusted and left feeling unprofessional as I did a couple of days ago. A couple of days ago I went to Simply Fresh McCaffrey's and when I went to check out, I was greeted by the worker Jenn, a lady around 50 years old. From the moment I got there, I could smell the alcohol coming off her lips slurring her words and the heavy intoxication from coming off of her. I was astounded that such an establishment would have intoxicated people working behind their counters and I was utterly disappointed. I was left sad because it's a place I like and left disappointed of the people that work there while I rarely leave reviews, this is something I've been thinking about and I just must. read more

Very clean and well-maintained. Excellent options, especially their pre-made selection. It is pricey, which I can understand since it is a privately owned supermarket. I've only been here a couple of times, but I really like it. For the most part, the prices are good, there are a few things I pay less for elsewhere, but , this is Doylestown. Today I ordered from the deli counter. My husband had a cuban and I ordered a small italian hoagie. I appreciate a small being an option, because regular (typical) sized hoagies are too big for me to finish. The small was perfect, and the quality was top notch. All of the ingredients were high quality and delicious. I loved the roll too! My husband's Cuban was done as a panini, and it was also excellent! read more

Really good barista. The prepared foods and the food in the store is fairly expensive.

I have shopped at Simply Fresh a few times and tried a variety of items. On the seafood side, I have tried swordfish, black pearl salmon, and shrimp that were all very good. The smoked salmon dip I found disappointing as it lacked a strong smoked salmon taste and had excessive dill. The crab cakes are pricey but good. As far as prepared salads, I liked their chicken salad and crunchy vegetable salad. Turning to prepared vegetables, the pistachio crusted cauliflower was good as were the mashed potatoes. I also liked the salad bar. Chicken skewers were hit and miss. Two were excellent while one was inedible tough cartilage meat. I let them know and they handled well. I'm hoping this is a one time problem because if I had served to company it would have been an embarrassment. I expect better from them. I very much want to give Simply Fresh the highest rating. Let's hope the situation I encountered was a one time fluke because thus far I'm finding great potential. read more

this is one of the nicest markets i have been to recently. they have top notch options for almost every category of food you can ask for including hard to find produce items like rare mushrooms and white asparagus and baby Brussels sprouts, they have well prepared and aesthetically prepared meals and deserts and really good looking meats, fish, baked goods and cheeses. They also have everything else you could expect at a regular market from pantry to frozen and cleaning goods. The space is very clean, well lit and well layer out and not like a massive supermarket with so many options you can't find anything. it's like a cross between a high end local corner market and a real supermarket. sort of reminds me of something i could have found when i lived in napa county. There are a bunch of workers in all departments including registers and everyone was very helpful and nice and just made it a better experience than you usually find at the big stores. Also despite all the high end options the prices went bad. I mean the rare stuff was expensive but it would be anywhere, where you would find that stuff and the normal stuff is priced normal so it almost doesn't smell sense not to pay them a visit. read more

They do have some non local organic veg but fruit not so much and even gmo apples first number is a 3 where conventional/pesticide sprayed begins w/ a 4. and of course like every where else lots of seed oils in their prepared food like gm canola etc. many places are saying olive oil but when you press they say yea it's a blend. but unfortunately contributes to insulin resistance. The customer service on the day I was there was excellent, despite the fact that they were busy. Employees seemed genuinely happy to help customers like me with questions. If I had a criticism it would be the very limited parking, but this is Doylestown and parking is always a problem. read more

I'd give this 3 1/2 stars if I could. I've only been in here a few times but I'm fairly impressed with this store. It's relatively small - half of the store is produce/prepared goods&bakery/deli while the other half consists of a few aisles. The place is really clean and they have a fairly large selection of produce and prepared foods. They make really good soups which change weekly. Went in here around dinner time and the hot food bar was empty and dried out- which it shouldn't have been since people still head here to grab dinner. The only other items I have tried that they have prepared are their deli salads. I personally liked them, but received mixed feelings about them by the fam. I would like to try their baked goods next as they looked really good. The prices are definitely steep but you can find some unique products here- definitely more health conscious. The parking lot is small. They do have seating for the cafe and they give you a bag discount if you use reusables. None of the cashiers are ever friendly. They all seem way too bored and like they can't be bothered- which isn't what you want as you hand your cash over to this place. read more

This review is for the prepared food, not the grocery store. Grocery store is great, all else needs some major work. Specifically, ordered a turkey hoagie and iced coffee. My hoagie was filled with deli paper. Really gross to bite into. Coffee counter had people paying for huge amounts of groceries in addition to buying coffee, so, had to wait about ten minutes to order my drink. This is my third time ordering the same drink and it has tasted way different each time and generally not good- I know, fool me twice...anyway, they way under-filled the $5 drink as well, as you can see. Great shopping experience, I get distracted shopping here because everything looks SO GOOD!! The produce section is beautifully maintained, and the meat and seafood section is extremely fresh and they always have a wide selection to choose from. I also love how personable the store is. Everyone is so friendly. If you have any questions they go above and beyond to answer them and help you. The only slightly inconvenient part is their parking lot, but they can't help that. I've always been able to find a spot, but I could see how it might be a problem if you decide to go during a busy part of the day. Over all, simply fresh is worth the trip!!! read more

Dont waste your time just because its in town! I go there often just because its convenient but Im not going to deal with it anymore. Its worth the drive to Giant or Acme just for the customer service alone. I went into the store requesting the store manager Scott. I had to wait 5 minutes just because he was standing around laughing and joking with some of the employees. I was on a time limit so I just abandoned speaking woth him and went and grabed a few things I needed. Check out used to be great there a few months ago. I mean 5 star rating excellent. knowledgeable, friendly, day time cashiers. Always fast in and out service. Not so much anymore. It appears they have changed staff quiet a bit and decided to hire younger kids. That was a big mistake in my opinion. The new cashiers are ignorant, poorly trained and act annoyed when asked a question. I know others are feeling the same way because I was discusing it in line with a few fellow customers who were also disappointed. Its a shame. Hopefully some of the higher ups realize this is going on and fix the new mess that is Sloppy Fresh. Until then my family will be shopping elsewhere! read more

I am new to the Doylestown community. My colleagues told me to try this market out . This Store reminds me a lot Trader Joe's or whole foods market. Everything is freshly prepared the produce department is beautiful and out of this world. Let me tell you about the bakery the cakes are to die for we tried the cannolis and the cupcakes. Also the staff appear to be very friendly not really sure if they have any managers on site because everyone was wearing the same uniform. Not bad if the employees all blend in it gives the customer an idea of a family environment. I have no problem with the prices because I seen a lot of organic products and from locally Farms right in Pennsylvania. We must continue to support locally owned supermarkets like this to keep them in the community and keep big chains and big box retail out of the community ... I will definitely continue to support this locally owned business this location it is a hidden gem and the heart a beautiful historical Doylestown. read more

McCaffrey's is a gourmet delight! It is clean and appealing to the senses. I have shopped there several times, and loved the experience and the food. The staff is friendly and helpful. I catered my whole Christmas dinner this year for 17 people. The food was absolutely fantastic, and my guests were thrilled with it. The heating instructions were so clear and simple. I love going into the store and looking at the fresh meat and seafood, salads, ready-made foods and enjoying the friendly atmosphere. I'm so glad Simply Fresh came to Doylestown! read more

Simply Fresh has become our go-to market. The meat and seafood are excellent. The cheese department is well-stocked and Carollee always provides excellent recommendations. The chicken salad in the deli section is excellent. My only complaint is the bread, so I either bake my own or go to Cross Key bakery. This market is very appealing, clean, and the staff is very friendly. My only concern is that I was steered in the wrong direction from one of the butchers as I was purchasing a beef roast. I had asked for a roast to prepare in the oven for sliced roast beef sandwiches. He sold me a bottom round rump roast. After I had cooked the road and started to slice I realized this was the wrong cut of meat. You would think that a store of this level would have butchers that understood each cut of meat. A lesson learned on my part. Otherwise, this is a nice store. read more
