One last bit... at the end I stood up in front of my seat and an usher came up and told me to stay out of the aisle. I WAS IN FRONT OF MY SEAT! The Blue Man Group: Show was 1.5 hrs. I paid $230 for 1.5 hrs. The show was short. It was nothing new or interesting from other shows I have seen. To be honest, this show was the most uninteresting out of all three Blue Man I have gone too. Other venues had larger stages so more action took place. This was less drumming, less paint banging, less audience interaction. It's not to say what they did they didn't put effort forth. It's to say that Chicago did it better. The cast members walked around afterwards. You could take photos with them . The travelling show in RI did it better. If you stick around you need to make some changes, keep people coming back. Keep them interested and want to spend the money to keep watching. The had the people on the floor in the front put on ponchos. WHY? They only sprayed water once into the audience! If I had paid the $225 for a seat in the front I would be PISSED!

I'd been wanting to try burlesque for a while, and Rogue offers the Sassy, Classy and Brassy burlesque 101 class at Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) several times a year. They made what could have been an uncomfortable experience baring myself (literally) to strangers fun, sexy, and positive. These ladies are professional, sassy, supportive, and funny to boot! After my class, I became more involved in the burlesque scene and have helped out at several shows since then. I've even had the chance to compete in two of Rogue's Lucky 13 amateur shows, which are usually held every 3 months or so. Contestants have the chance to workshop their routine, no matter what stage of progress, to two Roguers for feedback. And let me tell you, if you're not used to performing, it's HARD. Especially when removal of clothing is involved! But these ladies are so supportive, and offer really encouraging, thoughtful, and useful feedback. You can tell the troupe puts a lot of love, sweat, tears, and sometimes (fake) blood into their work. I also love the diversity within Rogue; troupe members really embody a lot of different characters and archetypes, and manage to come up with creatively sexy routines that sometimes challenge us, as an audience, to think outside the box, usually make us laugh, and always make our hearts pound. I'm so proud to say I'm a (small) part of it.

The summer camp for children is purely based on favorites, and they give the same children time to…read moreshine over and over again while the students who are just as talented get ensemble parts with no singing or even single lines. Some kids who are arguably worse repeatedly get cast as very important roles while actual talent takes a back seat. Awful, unfair, and horrible.

Boston Circus Guild is not your usual circus; they offer up a whimsical story of mirth laced with mischief as they weave together scenes from our humdrum lives, but then give their own twist when housewives, bored businessmen, and even a shy girl in love transform into engaging, silly, and mesmerizing performers. "Honey I'm Home" brought us housewives in the midst of daily chores, brought to life by a mischievous clown and turned into bellydancers. "Writer's Block" followed a frustrated writer through her thought process, which took her into the air with gorgeous aerial acrobatics. "Passing Time at the Office" went from death-by-paperwork to crazy juggling antics and one very surprised boss. Of course, laced throughout the show was a brouhaha of Revelers, all lending their own manic joy to some of the acts (and helping with the seamless transition through the journey). Live music performed by Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching band brings the performances to life, and sets the tone of the circus perfectly. Spot-on timing brought another dimension to the performances. ENSMB is something to behold in their crazy, eclectic genius! "Reign of Revelry" is at the Somerville Armory next weekend as well, with shows on Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11 at 7:30 PM, with a family-friendly matinee on Saturday at 2 PM. I've been on a fitness kick, to make 2014 the year I up my fitness level and get in better shape…read more I decided to take 2 BABE Fit classes here, and I'm glad I did. The reason to keep trying different types of work out classes, is sometimes you stumble upon something you really enjoy. The BABE Fit class was the most fun fitness class I've ever taken! The Thursday night classes were taught by Lucie. The first half hour was cardio dancing with some burlesque style moves (but no stripping). The 2nd half hour was floor work of things like crunches and leg stretches, with a 10 minute cool down. Now, I'm pretty uncoordinated, but it's totally OK if you don't pick up the dance moves right away. Lucie was very good at explaining slowly what the moves were, and they repeat, so sometimes the repetition helps you figure the moves out. I was smiling even if I stepped off on the wrong foot for a move. The class price is very reasonable, $12 in advance or $15 at the door. If you're looking for a fun way to get out of your comfort zone and have a great work out, check out BABEfit!

It is even less so when I am pleasantly shocked …read more Company One, however, wowed me last weekend with the play "She Killed Monsters" The play itself is about a woman connecting with her dead sister through Dungeons and Dragons. My roommate played that game in college almost 30 years ago. Lets just say there are some surprises about what the woman learns about her sister and herself It is also very funny, somewhat sad at times and thought provoking throughout. This is a result of the script being well written(by a man, no less) and extremely well acted by the entire cast I do not normally go to plays or theater in general, but Company One just may change my mind.....Highly recommended
