When I think of the Wang, I generally think of theatrical productions, so I was surprised to hear my one of my favorite bands was performing at the Wang. Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit could perform in a bathroom and it would be stellar, but both of their shows this past Friday and Saturday night were phenomenal! The Wang turned out to be a great venue. It is a beautiful historic theatre, but entry (including security) was easy and stress free. The band sounded amazing! We expected a "seated" audience, but as soon as the band took the stage, the entire audience remained on their feet swaying and enjoying the music and vibes. While I enjoyed this environment, I can see that elderly attendees, shorter patrons, or those with difficulty standing for 2+ hours might have been disappointed. No awful parking issues like Gillette or the Xfinity Center, better views than TD Garden...I'd love to see more rock concerts at the Wang! read more

Art deco details everywhere, lavish designs across the two level atrium and into the theater where they have shows. I think this would be a lovely architecture tour if we didn't have the event lights and noise of a DJ at the site. We visited an event here (not the theater part) where they had a Music America exhibit downstairs, and servers and music up in the main lobby. Very loud space and could use some more seating for the event, but was a fun gathering for ISDA hosted by LSEG. Cool venue, contains both the Wang and Shubert Theatres. An extraordinary gift in 1983 from Dr. An Wang, founder of Wang Laboratories, ushered in the era of The Wang Center for the Performing Arts and lead to a total of around $10mm in donations to help restore the theater in the 1980s. read more

I love an outing to the Boch Center - Wang Theatre. I've come here a ton of times for different reasons. Most recently was to see Jason Mraz and my experience was similar to ones in the past. Efficient bathroom system, short concession lines, quick service to our seats, and a stunning theater to sit back and relax. I highly recommend seeing just about any show you can here. Enjoyed catching Cirque du Soleil show in a box seat. Parking can always be an adventure in town so utilized the Tuft Medical Center T stop on Orange line and it is literally a two minute tops walk mostly all covered to get to the theatre. Best way in and out in my opinion Quick access in, had ticket at will call which was very efficient and rapid to receive and make my way to seats. Plenty to choose from for drinks within the lobby area and space to enjoy. Great work by staff, friendly and professional throughout and the show was an amazing event as well! The Boch Wang Theatre in Boston is immaculate. We went to see John Mulaney. The staff were very friendly and patient. The interior is intricately designed with gorgeous details everywhere you look. Parking garage is located next to the theatre. The Cirque Du Soleil - Twas The Night Before was a great show! The restrooms in the building could deffinitely use an upgrade- looked like a post apocalyptic high school bathroom. Overall, would come back again for the right production. read more

We enjoyed Cirque de Soleil 'Twas the night before Christmas. A fun 80 minutes of acrobatics galore. Wasn't exactly what I expected. My jaw was on the floor when I walked in to the Wang Theatre. Hands down, without a doubt, the most beautiful music venue I've ever been in! We were there to see Tedeschi Trucks Band, & this was such a great space for them. I have two very specific qualms: 1. The seats were tight. I'm short with a small frame & I still felt uncomfortably close to the stranger next to me. We were basically knocking elbows. If you want any extra room or personal space, I would look into alternative seating options (if they have any!) 2. The (presumably) VIP section was an unwelcome surprise. We booked front row tickets for a front row ticket price. When did "front row" seats become "front row behind the VIP section" seats? We were at least 8 rows back from the stage. Also, the theatre had raked seating behind us, but since we were the sorta "front row," we were at ground level. Who else was at ground level? The VIP section! So people behind us actually had a better view of the stage than us, because they weren't level with the VIP mob. It seems like the live music industry is always finding new ways to extort more money from people while providing less. It makes me very grumpy. It makes me want to stay home. Now that I've aired my grievances, here are some things I appreciated: - The sound engineering was spectacularly balanced & pleasant. Every instrument was clearly defined, including & Susan's mezzo vocals. - It wasn't too loud! - The lighting was really fun & flattering. Wang Theatre was not perfect, but I still enjoyed myself. Went to see the killers of kill Tony there last night place was beautiful inside very clean staffed. Well people are very nice. The comedians were hilarious. The only drawback I could say at all is there. It's hard to park and there's no help on that aspect. Other than that. It was a great experience I recommend anyone to see a troll there. read more

Old theater so seats are painfully small for a tall person w long legs and a healthy sized butt. Also, air conditioning either wasn't working or they don't have it--the theater was ridiculously hot when we were there (September). Also, the amount of bathrooms they have doesn't seem like enough--the show we attended had many more women then men, so they wound up closing one of the men's bathrooms to men and letting women use it. Would skip this venue in future, and go to a bigger/newer facility. It's also worth mentioning that the location of theater was in a bit of a good desert, so eat before you head to this area. read more

Attended the opening night performance of Annie the Musical as part of the PR/media team. The Boch Center Wang Theater in Boston is simply amazing. The place is an iconic venue which is steeped in Boston's rich history and culture. The architecture is grand, elegant, and simply breathtaking. The sound quality is top-notch. No matter where you sit, you're guaranteed a fantastic audio experience. The seats are comfy (although my boyfriend said they were a tad too narrow for him) and offer great views of the stage. The staff are real pros - friendly and always ready to help. Such a beautiful theater and we had an amazing time watching the incredible Sarah Brightman here a couple nights ago. Of course Phantom of the Opera was the best performance by far! The show was absolutely stunning with amazing performances- great music and talent! Sound quality was great and visuals on the stage were beautiful. The ornate architecture, artwork and sculptures all over both inside the hall as well as in the entrance are absolutely breathtaking. Just gorgeous. We got SpotHero parking at the nearby Revere hotel garage for $25 which is not too bad. Overall great experience! read more

This is a really beautiful theatre. I hadn't been here in ages but I recently went to see the Grinch. We sat in the first row of the orchestra box seats and had an insane amount of leg room. The drink lines moved very fast here as well. I hope to see more shows here soon! read more

BEAUTIFUL 100 year old theater in the heart of downtown Boston. Went here to see a Cirque du Soleil performance and was blown away by the architecture of the theater. Several grand sculptures and chandeliers, along with exquisite detailed walls (from floor to ceiling). Seats are a bit tight (and cup holders are completely off center- you'll be reaching over the lap of the person on the right to get your drink). Concession stand is expensive, as to be expected though. Like any other theater or concert hall, difficult to get out of the building once the show is over. Also to note, no parking garage directly attached. Reserve a parking spot or garage online to save some money! read more

Always a nice time whenever we come here to experience shows, specifically comedian shows that my wife and I enjoy very much. Each time we come here, we still admire the beautifully intricate and ornate architecture, sculptures and artwork and how they're still able to maintain them. Before making your way to the seating area, you can explore and walk through each level featuring different memorabilia for music and theater, such as guitars lining the walls. Expect the concession stands to be expensive, just like any other theaters or sports arenas, if you're looking for food or drink. It's best to go to a restaurant somewhere else beforehand (if the show is after) or afterwards (if the show is before) if you're looking something more proper. Hop off an Uber or take the MBTA, otherwise you get nearby garage parking since street parking on the night of the show can be very challenging, unless you know where to look. read more

This is a beautiful and historic building in Boston that I did not even know existed. I went here for a show with my mom, and I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful ambience, and architecture. I will say that I was slightly disappointed as there was a lot of leftover trash and candy from a previous show on the floor. Unless you're on the first floor, it doesn't seem like it's very handicap accessible, but that could've just been our personal experience. Druski was whack, the drinks were watered down, the popcorn was stale, and the VIP seating is not worth the money as you have to walk all the way up to use the restroom or get drinks The seats inside are hard Af and extremely tight! If you are a large sized person, opt for an aisle seat if possible because anything else is bound to be hell The ushers are all old as my grandparents, but they're friendly. Just a tad slow and unaware Also the bathroom is downstairs & then all the way at the end of the hall. Half the show will be over before you get back The art inside the theater is amazing ! I tried to buy 7 tickets for an upcoming show. Ticket master won't let me buy 7 tickets - they say it's too many so I call group sales at the theatre and try to buy 7 tickets, and they tell me that I can only buy 10 tickets through group sales. Person on the phone had no interest in helping me with this conundrum. I can't buy through Ticketmaster, I can't buy through group sales...but if I come in person to the box office then I can buy 7 tickets but no one can sell me 7 tickets on the phone...what the heck? Quick update - I called Ticketmaster and they confirmed something is wrong with their app and I can't buy 7. Can't buy 7 from them, can't buy 7 directly from the theatre. What a beautiful building inside. The architecture was outstanding, featuring many carved pieces and chandeliers. You can take stairs, or the elevator. It doesn't matter where you sit in this place, you'll get a good view and the audio is fantastic. Restrooms were clean and big. Seats were a bit tight, but comfy. read more

What a stunning space! I was just blow away staring at everything. It was pretty amazing with all the bartenders and concessions personnel as well so the lines were not tragic and moved fast. The ushers are very much on it as well quickly jetting each person to their seat very fast - it was amazing! I had the pleasure of seeing Massive Attack here and seeing a beautiful band in this beautiful space was magic. Pregaming is pretty easy to do here as well considering that there are so many great eating and drinking spots within crawling distance. read more

What a massive visual showing of opulence. This building has an interior that id imagine Rome would. Haha. Lots of fancy sculptures and ceiling art. I went to see Psychedelic Furs & Squeeze and the venue put on a great show. The only drawback are the $16 miller lite beers haaa. We were followed around from the beginning as soon as we walked in and anytime we would stop to sit, someone would come up to us and tell us "you can't stay here", no matter where we were, even if other people where there. We felt very unwelcomed and will not be coming back. We eventually went up to our seat, then the employees told us it wasn't open even though we walked right up without anyone telling us, then as we went down a security guard yelled at us and said we can't be up there. Beautiful theatre. Show was good. But the staff leave much to be desired. Immediately when we entered 2 loud mouth ghetto a$$"security" guards screamed at my elderly aunt/uncle and their 3 little granddaughters all under 10 for pausing at the corner of the entryway to gather our tickets. Just disgusting behavior. Ntm they pay no mind to the metal detectors they're there to monitor. Just HURRY UP AND WALK THROUGH! STAND OVER THERE! NO OVER THERE GET OVER THERE! like they're some damn prison guards. Scared the little kids (we were there for a family show at 330 on a Sunday) then about 6 people check your tickets. And another 3 if you go to the bathroom and then some more on your way back. Are that many people sneaking in to see the grinch musical? Good lord. Do better. Ridiculous treatment of paying customers trying to have a nice afternoon read more

Cant believe I have never been here before. Went to see Paw Patrol this past weekend. Had great seats, but after having been here once I now know I could have sat in the Balcony and had decent seats. Its fairly small in that even at the top in the back the stage didnt seem soo far away, but I was down in the first orchestra section & kinda mad after having been now that I paid so much for my seats because I could have sat 3 sections back & been fine Bathrooms were acceptable there were TONS of them. Take my advice buy swag outside from the guys pushing the stuff (for the kids shows at least) as inside it was 75% marked up! Standard overpriced snacks with gorgeous architecture! Glad I went & now next time Ill buy cheaper seats! read more
