We decided to dine inside however there was outside seating available. Even a glass bubble to dine in for $10 per person per hour. I ordered the grilled chicken wrap with fries. Sandwich tasty with chucks of chicken. The fries were not very hot or fresh. My husband ordered a garden salad with trout on top. He loved his fish. Stated it was seasoned perfectly. Waitress was sweet and service was good.

Upon arrival, I was immediately seated and serviced at my choice of location - if a favorable climate prevails always choose the outdoor patio with magnificent canyon views (see pics). The hugh baked trout was draped on a Garden Salad and was fantastic. This selection was a welcomed alternative to Steak and/or Hamburgers! Additionally, the grilled chicken wrap was flavorable however the string French Fries were extremely thin and too crispy (overcooked). After eating, feel free to work off your calories with a short and easy .75 mile hike to the canyon namesake: Spearfish Falls located right behind the restaurants.

We ordered takeout from this restaurant and so I cannot speak to the dining experience. We arrived around brunch time, and it was around then that people slowly began to trickle in on the weekend. Of note, this was the only restaurant that comes up when you search "restaurants" on google maps in Cheyenne Crossing in the Black Hills in case anyone has trouble finding it on google maps. In addition, there is no service here by the way. The restaurant is attached to the gift shop, and there is a small gas station right outside as well. We just ordered their Indian Taco, which is basically a huge piece of thick frybread with various nacho toppings such as ground beef, sour cream, tomato, lettuce, cheese, and salsa. While it costs about $15, the size of this Indian Taco can feed you at least 2-3 meals, depending on how hungry you are. The takeout was quick to come out, and while we waited, we enjoyed some of the table games (nail balancing game, marble game, etc).

Mind you we had an Indian Taco at Four Corners at a run down wooden shack and an Indian lady prepared it. It was 5 stars. The food here was watered down chili and was not warm. The food was not very pleasing to eat. The fried bread under the taco dressing was okay, nothing like we had at Four Corners location. The restaurant/store had an "off putting" odor. I would pass it up if you are ever in SD. Ambiance reminds me of a mom and pop dinner in the southeast. The restaurant was packed.

The atmosphere was cozy, service was excellent and the food was delicious. The grilled cheese sandwich was larger enough for two, the chicken fried steak will add 5lbs to your belt line, the club was flavorful, French Dip was dripping with melty cheese and debris, and the calamity sandwich was excellent, really enjoyed the added flavors brought in with the use of green chili's to the spread. Warmed up next to the fireplace with a nice cup of hot chocolate before heading back onto the trails. A must stop if your out riding in the hills!

It's a must try,if you like scallops..also we were very impressed with their generous servings and wine pours..oh yes !! and do try the Buffalo Stew...very very good...if you're in the area drive up the canyon and treat yourself to a great meal and beautiful scenery.
