Room was large, bed was huge and comfortable, linens smelled fresh. Furnishings were suitable for the theme of the Inn. Breakfast was adequate- yogurt, fruit, some packaged muffins, mini bagels, juice and coffee. Perfectly fine. You should be made aware when you book, but there's no elevator so you're carrying your bags up those steps (see my pics). We were here at the end of September during some sort of freak heat wave and the poor little window AC was doing its best to keep up. I was comfortable; my husband was hot. I just appreciated they had AC at all. It's just a very large room with high ceilings to try to cool with a small unit.

Quiet little street (I'm a city girl) - can see Mine from window looking out front of 2nd story. If you are from the country, you will think it is a highway out front. I lived by the freeway in MN so this is quiet to me. Room has everything a girl needs, except food - and that is walking distance. On second look, there is coffee and water in the lobby. You can probably find a muffin or tangerine in the fridge if you want a little snack. Cute little park area (very small, think tiny mountain town) across the street to walk dogs. So, pretty good for a Hampton Inn, with a few hiccups…read more We stayed here for 3 nights in a king bedroom suite. We arrived at 3PM, which is check in time, and our room was not ready. Our room was not ready until 5:30. As we had just flown in from Florida, I really wanted to go to the room and change out of our travel clothing, but that was not an option. Our first afternoon in Deadwood was effectively ruined as there was nowhere to leave our bags and change clothing. The hotel was recently remodeled, so our rooms were very nice, and the mattresses were comfortable. The shower was fine although the water temperature fluctuated, and it was impossible to find the exact point that wasn't either too hot or too cold. The whole hotel vibrated constantly, which made a bunch of appliances in the room rattle or even make weirder noises. I had to leave the microwave door open because closed, the rattling was too loud for the kids to sleep. Breakfasts in the breakfast room were typical Hampton and quite good (for being free). Very friendly staff. Waffle machine with two flavor options and all sorts of different toppings, breakfast sausage, fried eggs, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, toast and cereal. Juice and coffee. On our last day, there was no breakfast offered at Hampton. We were redirected to the restaurant at the Sheraton Four Points. Of course, that place wasn't open yet. And, once we arrived, they were not expecting us, and they wanted a coupon that had not been provided by the Hampton. Thankfully, it was just a short walk back to get things sorted, and thankfully, we weren't in a rush that morning, but still. Parking is across the street. It's through the casino. You need a new scan code each time you drive through, which comes from the front desk. Because of the delay in our check in, our parking was comped, but I believe it's about $15/day. The lot is long and narrow, and if there are big pick up trucks, it feels cramped and precarious.

This is a great spot for a family vacation…read more We stayed in the Pioneer cabin, which was comfortable for our family of four. Some of the cabins are new and some are modernized older buildings. We loved the rustic interior of our cabin and, being used to camping, appreciated the basic kitchen and bathroom with shower. Wickiup Village is a short distance from a lot of great South Dakota attractions: Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse memorial, the Needles Highway, and the towns of Deadwood and Lead. You can even get to Wall Drug and Badlands National Park within two hours. There is a store and restaurant within easy walking distance, which came in handy. The staff was great and went out of their way to make sure everything was going well. This might not be the place for you if you're used to five-star hotels, but if you want to stay in a place with charm and unique character, don't pass up Wickiup Village.

The bed was saggy and should be replaced. I loved the vintage, light blue 1970s bathroom porcelain and the super long counter. The water was hot and strong, and the tub drained well. The toilet ran, though; the front desk was notified. It was an okay property for a single night, but since it was at the end of Main, we'd probably not stay here again. Since the property is at the (end) of Main Street with 35 MPH speed limit it does get some truck noise. No fridge or microwave, just coffee. Grade B.

It was decorated very nicely. Had a Western theme. The shower/bathtub was clean. The plumbing worked great. The hot water was endless. I found the mattress incredibly comfortable, but everyone has their own taste. There were plenty of outlets on the center table next to the beds. I need to charge a lot of things and run a CPAP. The towels smelled so clean (the first time I thought that).

I had to take it to my bank and getting in contact with the manager has been challenging (maybe there has been new staff since the last review). In addition to disputing this claim, the walls at the Inn were so thin on the second floor you could hear people having conversations. I don't like writing negative reviews but I wanted to share in case you decide to stay here do not prepay for your stay at this hotel. Even though I prepaid directly through Hilton it has felt like a nightmare getting this issue resolved and be prepared to bring earplugs to avoid noise at night.
