Morgan is the standout instructor - She's incredibly talented, motivating, and clearly passionate about what she does. Her routines are thoughtful and effective, and she genuinely cares about making the class fun and engaging. Her playlists are also fantastic. Honestly, she could easily launch her own platform or build a strong online following - she's that good. The other instructors could learn from her. Cons: Customer service - Some staff interactions have felt curt, unhelpful, inflexible, and extremely off-putting. Communication needs improvement as well. Confusing policies - The waitlist/cancellation policy in particular is frustrating and nonsensical. Class variety and challenge level - Most of the classes seem geared more toward older participants. Even the Level 1.5 classes weren't challenging, and you have to basically apply or "try out" for a Level 2 class. Morgan's classes and routines were the most effective. Limited scheduling - Class availability is limited and books up quickly, and depending on your membership, you are not able to sign up for classes at other studio locations.

While my trainer Chris Patterson and the staff have been fantastic, management--especially Fitness Director Nick May--has been the opposite. I have 44 fully paid, unused personal training sessions at the Glenside location. I was told in writing that my sessions never expire, yet no one disclosed that they cannot be used at any other Crunch location. After moving to Norfolk, I learned that these sessions are locked to this single franchise, something that was never mentioned when I signed up and something most customers would reasonably assume would transfer between Crunch gyms. How come I can use any crunch gym with my membership, but my sessions won't transfer? JF Fitness has offered zero real solutions--just "sell your sessions" or drive hours back to Richmond. No one will buy them, and I no longer live there. I even tried to coordinate a transfer and was initially led to believe it might be possible, only for management to completely dismiss it. The lack of honesty, accountability, and basic customer service from Nick May and upper management is unacceptable. This feels misleading and unethical, and I will be reporting it to the Better Business Bureau for failure to disclose critical information. Shame on JF Fitness for taking advantage of loyal members and hiding behind franchise loopholes instead of doing what's right.

Normally I am greeted warmly by a wonderful staff member, but today an unfamiliar staff member named Jake approached me in a manner that was deeply unsettling. As soon as I walked in, he fixed me with a harsh, almost hostile look. He then rushed over to me and abruptly asked, "What gym do you usually go to?" His body language and the way he looked me up and down were aggressive and inappropriate, leaving me feeling highly uncomfortable, unwelcome, and singled out. What made the situation even more distressing was that just moments later, two other individuals walked past him and he made no effort to stop or question them. It was very clear that I was treated differently, and I cannot help but believe this was because of my skin color. This encounter was not only unprofessional but extremely disturbing. It made me feel discriminated against and as though I was not wanted in a place where I had every right to be, especially considering that I could have easily paid for entry that day. I am bringing this to your immediate attention because no member, guest, or visitor should ever feel targeted or harassed in this way. I recommend ANY other Golds gym in the area!!!

I honestly can't imagine why anyone would give this less than 5 stars. This was a very good gym when I came to it in high school 20 years ago. It has improved and evolved since then with the really nice lifting platforms. As someone who uses a powerlifting gym, this is pretty accommodating for someone who typically doesn't use globo gyms. You can get everything you need to a variety of strength and cardio equipment.
