It's much bigger and has more variety than it appears from the street, with costs being comparable. So nice to have a local nursery like the good ol' days. Went here for the first time today and after the rock guy asked if I needed help, he directed me indoors. Gal working register was kind enough to help me find edible plants for my sulcata tortoise. Including sod, woo hoo! Exactly what I needed. I will be flushing the plants and sod with diluted vinegar then water for a few days, but I know my boy Neptune will be thrilled when he sees them in his enclosure. Once done shopping, another guy hopped off his tractor to come help load the car. Now is that respect for your elders and great customer service or what? Thanks to all for your help. I will indeed be back!

Was told all trees were suitable to high desert soil and climate. Bought two cherry trees, one…read morepear, one fig, one pomegranate, one mulberry (non fruit bearing). Bought grow mulch and followed all planting and watering instructions. Cherries and pear were all dead in 2 months, fig and pomegranate have 3-4 leaves remaining. Only non-fruit mulberry remains as moderately healthy. When I called I was told I should have been watering differently than originally told and basically I was out of luck. Spent several hundred dollars not including augar rental and some labor hands to help due to hard high desert soil. These trees were bought in May of this year. Found out home depot stands behind their plants and accepts returns for quite some time. Note: person helping us was very nice so no complaints about in person customer service.

I would like to try a class or two in the future! For the store itself: I was greeted right away and the sales associate (forgive me, I do not remember her name at the moment) made herself available for questions. Think of this store like a mini-locally-owned Hobby Lobby or Michael's (knick-knacks, seasonal decor, decor accents for the kitchen, living room, den, yard, etc.). Everything was organized, displays were easy to maneuver around (explored this store while wearing my napping 10-month old so ease of being able to move in a store while babywearing is a priority!) So yes I am impressed and will return again. If you need a gift or a craft I would recommend this place, especially if the larger craft stores are intimidating, your first time in a craft store and don't want to be overwhelmed, or are just curious--like I was). After about 3 years of going here, I think it's time I review these guys. I've been to all the…read morehydro stores in the desert and was frequenting all of them in search of the best deals for whatever items I needed. Hydroponics is expensive in general, so penny pinching is a must, but I quickly realized Mo and Chris only charge a slight amount over invoice, on everything. I'm not left guessing if I can get a better deal here or there, it all just ends up being what's fair. Some of the other guys have memberships that afford "deep discounts" but it's disingenuous at best. I also don't feel like the other stores really care about their customers. When I come into this store, I'm always warmly welcomed and I'm pretty sure Mo remembered my name after 1 visit. I think I bought something small too, so that means he took time out of his day to remember me for nothing. On numerous occasions these guys have helped me out in other ways as well. Nothing I'll get into here because it's above and beyond what should be normal customer service and I don't want people trying to evoke this kind of thing from them. However, trust me when I say, if you're loyal to them, they will reciprocate double. One of the reasons I went other places was the selection, they didn't have too much from Heavy 16, however, they are able to order it pretty damn quick and have it on the counter for me without asking the minute I come chirping. Cheaper than the guys that supposedly carry this as a house brand. I'm not sure how that works, but I won't complain. All in all, this is a very friendly, knowledgable, and competitively priced place to go. You guys have my business for as long as I have a garden.
