I have been in twice and I'm the type of person that doesn't have things done to my face or anything at that matter. My daughter is attending this school so I was asked by her to come in and be her model and of course I did. Mind you she assured me it will be fine. Well she has done such an excellent job that my husband said my face looked so nice then of course I told him he needs to work more so I can have these treatments again since it turned out so well. I love coming here and receiving hydrafacial from the instructor Beatrice! Any student willing to listen to her advice and directions will be an amazing advanced esthetician. The treatments I have done are dermaplaning, hydrafacial, chemical peel, extractions and blue or red light therapy depending on my skin needs. I have never felt more confident with my skin since I've started my treatments with her. After school hours Beatrice takes the time with every step of each treatment to make sure my skin looks beautiful when I leave the room. Her eye for detail and knowledge always impresses me. First time here getting my laser hair remove done. This is a school, but they are very professional even coming from the students. The office is a little small but kept clean and organized for the most part. Easy to get an appointment or have tour questions answered. Prices are cheaper than an average laser place. The instructor is there the entire procedure. As for the hair laser treatment itself can be uncomfortable. But the pain doesn't last long. I have 5 for sessions for this area, but will definitely continue doing other treatments here as well. TBC read more

I have only had 1 appointment but I plan to go back. $89 for a $250+ microneedling procedure is a very good deal. Especially since they are not allowed to take tips. Therefore - the upside is the price. The downside is their hours. Their latest microneedling appt is 2 pm which means I have to take 3 hours off work to make the appt. That said - most salons charge $125 - $250 a session, which doesn't include a tip. You can get a Living Social coupon for $89, but that also doesn't include a tip. So.... if a person (like me) who works 8-5 pm, doesn't mind using a few vacation hours, lots of money can be saved. The microneedling procedure itself is a little painful, but "beauty is pain", right? Okay, not always. This is minor pain. Less than if your face was waxed and more than microdermabrasion. For me, the right side of my face is more sensitive so I did shed a tear or 2 and make a few small "Eeks!" but the gal really did a good job overall deadening my face. What does microneedling do you ask? It's supposed to poke mini needles into your face and provoke collagen growth so you will have a smoother surface of skin. This was my 1st treatment, so I just left with the same skin, albeit red, but I will continue going, in hopes that after 5 or 6 treatments, my face will tighten up and have more of a 35 years olds glow than a 45 years olds sun damaged dull, somewhat sagging finish. So I just had my first laser hair removal treatment and while I'll have to update once results are noticeable, I can totally vouch for the customer service being amazing. Everyone I interacted with was so friendly that it made me feel much easier about proceeding, especially since I was getting some delicate places addressed. McKenna and Lindsey did the work today under guidance of their instructor Samantha, and all three of them were knowledgeable, explained things clearly, and funny as hell which I greatly appreciated since I was nervous. When it came to check out, the gal up front let me know if I purchased a package there was a discount, and also that there was a buy 3, get 3 free on underarm treatments this month! Very affordable and it doesn't even feel like a school environment -- in fact it's a really pleasant, relaxing atmosphere between the people and all the lovely greenery filling the front. Overall a thoroughly positive experience and I'm looking forward to getting shot with lasers again. read more

I had a routine facial which was expertly performed by 2 students. They were very careful with my care and kept asking for feedback with massage pressure. The products they used were excellent. They kept me as comfortable as possible. The negative was the room I was in was the common room for the students. Picture bright lights, talks of whisky drinking and an instructor speaking loudly about housekeeping issues for the entire experience. I have been a supervisor in 2 teaching clinics and with changing the "treatment" room this would be a fabulous place. read more

Mary (owner) and her "licensed professionals" performed a laser treatment on me leaving me burned and scarred for life. Not only did Mary select the WRONG ipl laser for my skin tone, she advised her staff to use an intense setting of 17 out of 18. The "pros" did not take the proper steps before applying the laser, including applying the cooling gel before the laser, and they should have been monitered the entire time considering it was their first time performing this treatment! For months after the burn, I allowed Mary to help me with the aftercare since I felt helpless and she promised she could make the scars disappear -- she said that I should just trust her and be patient. Come to discover that the entire time, Mary was just experimenting on me with red light therapy and moisturizing creams -- not medical creams, but creams that she promotes -- when she really had no clue what she was doing and how to help my case further. Mary never involved a dermatologist to advise her/me properly. The health department confirmed that she should have involved a medical professional at this stage of wounding; she did not do so probably to save her face at the cost of my suffering and permanent scarring. This school is so unorganized and unprofessional. Mary cares only about collecting tuition. They pitch potential students a $15k course and don't properly train and supervise them before placing them on machines that can cause serious damage when used improperly. That is placing professionals at a major liability risk and causing clients to walk away damaged and scarred. This is total and complete negligence towards both students and clients. Now I live with permanent and patchy discoloration and scarring all across the fronts and backs of my legs; and even worse, I now run a greater potential risk of skin cancer for the rest of my life from this damage. read more

Client Services Review: I've been going to Spectrum for several months now receiving treatments for my acne scars. I found them while researching microneedling services in Portland. I had consultations at several medical spas in town, but decided I wanted to try it out before investing several hundred dollars at a spa. I continued the treatments at Spectrum instead of returning to the med spas. The office is clean and well maintained. The permanent staff and the women who run the program are all very nice. Great energy and customer service from everyone. They even have a skin imaging machine that can show you all the areas on your face that have sun damage, wrinkles, etc so they can target specific problem areas that may not be obvious in normal light. The students have all been in the industry for some time and are specializing in the machines and services Spectrum offers so you'll receive the same level of care as you would at a spa, but at a quarter of the price. I've also had Silk Peels and regular facials at Spectrum with great results. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who is interested in trying out IPL, microneedling, microdermabrasion and more before going to a regular spa. Or if you just don't want to spend lots of $$$ for the same services and results at a spa in town (there really isn't a difference), you should definitely check Spectrum out! read more

i go here for some services and i love them all. i took away 1 star because of questionable botox. the price was really good so i had it done here. 1 month later the effects were gone. ive had botox at med spas before. the effects should last 3 months. that they only lasted 1 month leads me to believe it is cheap because it is watered down and i did not get what i paid for. that is the only thing you should stay away from its botox. every thing else is gold. i love them for all other services. read more
