So, is anyone happy with their phone/Internet/TV provider? I have just dealt with a horrible situation with Spectrum and I need to change providers ASAP.
Long story short, I bought the Z fold phone for approximately $2,000, trading in my old phone, of course, and getting on a payment plan for the new phone. A week later, a thick, pink line appears going straight through the phone horizontally. I tried to do an insurance claim, and was refused because it was a defect in the phone, not physical damage. So, after multiple phone calls with Spectrum, I managed to secure a warranty exchange, which everyone is eligible for up to a year after purchasing a cell phone, if there is a defect with the phone.
After that, it seemed smooth sailing. I got the "remanufactured phone" (of course, not a new one), sent my defective phone back WITH the tempered glass screen cover and camera cover on it, as I had just purchased them. I got confirmation of the arrival of the phone and thought that was it.
A week later, I got a charge on my bank account from Spectrum for $1,943.99. I was literally in the red for over $2,000 and so I called Spectrum in a panic, asking why they charged me! It literally took three phone calls to get what I thought was the correct answer... that someone on their end accidentally processed the warranty exchange as a new phone sale. So, I was assured I would get a refund within 7-10 business days. I wasn't happy with the result, but I waited. And, waited.
Today, after not receiving the refund, I spoke with a manager at Spectrum again. He claims the one week old phone (literally, I'd just purchased it), was damaged. He claims that's why I was charged $1,943.99. I told him I sent the brand new phone back with a tempered glass screen protector on it, as well as a tempered glass camera protector on it. He claims neither were on the phone and that he was looking at photos showing "deep scratches" on the front of the phone. This is NOT possible. Someone at Spectrum took off the screen protector and gouged my phone so they could charge me. I can't prove it, but there's no other explanation.
I am also reporting Spectrum to the Better Business Bureau. And, now am looking into changing to a different phone/Internet/TV provider. I am in disbelief that they have lied to me multiple times, taken all of this money from me and refused to refund it, and then have the gall to double dip and continue to charge me for the remanufactured phone they sent me. They also refuse to send me pictures of these "deep scratches" and even when I said, "fine, send me the phone back and I'll send you the replacement back," they still refuse to do this, telling me I'm "outside the window" for returning it.
I am LITERALLY backed into a corner with a stick up my ass! read more
