I was told that we have an old account and our pricing went down to $49.95 over a year ago, we have been paying $122. That scam is enough to cancel to begin with. Catastrophic failure at every turn. I've used Spectrum internet and voice for my business for 7 years now. On Wednesday I had to sign up for Ring Central as they are taking away their automated assistant service. Upon them migrating my account, I lost internet to my business (it's a restaurant, we depend on internet to function). Customer care told me my modem was outdated and that there wasn't any internet output. Soonest they could replace it was the next day. The next day, a technician comes out and replaces my Dual WAN modem with one, single WAN modem. So my point of sale is connected but no wifi is available because the router is not connected to a modem... The technician literally unplugged cables and did not think that they would need to be reconnected. I call and explain I need another modem, I need two separate IP addresses to remain CPI compliant. Another technician comes out that night to install another modem but whoever created the work order forgot to include the modem activation code! I spent several more hours on the phone and was told nobody could supply that code even though the technician was in the building with the modem I needed. So they said they would send someone back out tomorrow. Now because I am on the west coast and who I was speaking to was on the east coast, it was already past midnight, so they made the appointment for a day later than MY tomorrow. Finally I get ahold of someone to escalate a second modem installation. The modem gets installed but it is faulty AND MY BUSINESS STILL DOES NOT HAVE INTERNET. A 2 day fiasco, miscommunication and flagrant incompetence on Spectrum's behalf. Over 10 hours on my behalf on the phone just trying to get my restaurant functioning again. Absolutely ridiculous, I am cancelling service as soon as I am possibly able to. My rage has fizzled into severe dissapointment. On principle I will also be canceling my home service. "Dropping the ball" doesn't even begin to cover my experience. I'd give 0 out of 5 stars but that's not an option. read more

I went in because my cell phone would no longer connect to Wi-Fi and asked them to help me get my information backed up so that when I purchased a new phone it would transfer over. The girl at the counter told me that she could help me out, no problem and then went ahead and sold me the phone and transferred my service over with no back up for the last 3 weeks, none of my texts, apps or information. I tried to get them to switch it back to the other phone so that I could figure out how to retrieve my information and they said that they can't because I have a contract. They blamed my previous carrier for the WiFi problem. The two people in front of me walked out irritated as well due to unsatisfactory service. If I could give this company a fat ZERO I would. This company states they love their customers, and there for their customers which is nothing but them blowing smoke. They just recently sent me a thing saying, and I quote... "Your Internet speed has increased to 400 Mbps at no additional cost." Yet for the last 5 months they have been raising our payment cost every 2 months. In a year we have gone from paying $79.99 to now just shy of $100.00 this is BS that they gave us anything for free they just simply hide their charging of it by slowly adding to the bill, and then coming up with some BS about the cost of services cost more to provide. Mind you all we get from them is internet Again all smoke. The people inside the store are rude, and need to learn how to treat people. They act as if anyone walking in the door is an incovenience to them. In my opinion this company needs to be sued for all the lies they are giving out. read more

When my year is up, I most likely will not continue with any of the Spectrum services (phone, internet & cable). My phone doesn't always ring and often I get poor service. Some days I can talk from my apartment in any of the rooms but other days I have to go outside. The internet and cable is very slow and sometimes won't connect at all. We have been with them for 6 months and suddenly we are no longer able to get most of the local channels. I am very disappointed with Spectrum!!! read more

The WORST. I had to pay a dead person's bill, and a former tenant's bill to just get MY service. While the local Kennewick office was super helpful, THEY even got crappy service themselves from their own call center. A lot of and too much of "its the company policy". Their own escalation department NEVER CALLED THE STORE MANAGER BACK. How and why would they expect a person to pay the back debts? Thats called "collections". Absolutely hate using this company for internet service as they are just the most expensive and inconsiderate company I've ever dealt with as far as TV& internet goes. I've been a customer with them for close to 10 years because unfortunately the internet is the cheapest available and due to covid d am unable to make my payment on time and normally they will extend my due date for a couple of days to make it to payday and I'm not sure if it's at the customer service representatives discretion as to whether they go ahead and extend the due date or not but I feel highly offended that this is how the response that I get after almost 10 years of doing business with them an I've called to ask for an extension in the past and it's never been an issue but then today the representative said no that my service will be discontinued at midnight, I don't know why I was told no, when I've been a loyal customer for at LEAST 10 years and Im told no, they can't give me ANY extra time to pay it even with the world just starting to recover from covid?? Well I don't think I want to do business at the company that doesn't value its loyal customers I guess it's time to start looking for a new internet provider. read more

An update. I called Charter Customer Service a third time and was told the same information that because I am not a new customer, I am not entitled to the lower advertised special. I promptly hung up and called back asking to have my services disconnected (Internet and cable-I previously switched my telephone service back to Century Link). The Customer Service Rep immediately sent my call to another agent who, Voila!, found a better price for all three services for me of $105 plus $9 tax. The moral of the story is that Charter has a program for established customers who threaten to remove their services and go to other vendors. Even though this price is authorized for one year only, the CSR advised me that next year if I tell them that I am switching my services to other providers, they will research another 'deal' for me. I have neither the time nor the desire to play mind games just to get a more reasonable price for services. read more

Well, it's March 2020. Time for an edit. While the customer service was better than previous experiences, we have changed to Dish. Spectrum (Charter) cable is horrible! We had numerous issues with their dvr. Freezing during replay. Trying to do a search so we could record a show was a pain in the neck. Not sure if one must pay extra to get dvr's 'networked' but if you record a show in one room, it won't appear in another rooms' dvr. If you record anything, you can't do more than two at a time and watch anything live w/o canceling something you wanted to record. We have their internet and haven't had any issues, but their cable service leaves quite a bit to be desired. The last straw was the local channel (KIMA) kept freezing up. When my husband called to cancel Spectrum they wanted him to pay his bill right away. Ugh, how about they unfreeze the channel first. read more

I had really great service through Charter. I had a 2 year contract for high speed Internet for $29.99/month. I consistently saw download speeds in excess of 15mbps - my service was never interrupted in the year I lived here. I'm moving halfway through my contract to an area Charter doesn't serve. The customer service agent I spoke to took care of making sure I wouldn't be charged for canceling early before I could even mention it. Disconnecting was simple - the entire process took less than 5 minutes and I received some of the best customer service I've had in ages. As a gamer, bittorrent user, and general geek I will miss Charter when I move. read more

5 stars for Maribel's customer service. Only reason I took off one was for Charter's overall service I received on the phone. After spending the time to drive down and prove our residency my husband was told we could finally call for set up like we were told on the phone by cooperate. I called and they said they couldn't/wouldn't turn off the previous owner's internet until for almost 30 days (we own the house and he's moved out! That makes no sense!) I was told I had to drive back and go talk to someone in person because the lady on the phone couldn't do a thing. Moral of the story, if you need anything go in person, and hopefully you'll get Maribel who is sweet, and knows what she is doing! read more

Charter cable is garbage. I have only had it for about a month and a half and I don't like it at all. Every time I am watching TV, so daily, at least once the picture goes all pixelly and I lose sound for a few seconds. It's not the end of the world I realize, however, it is annoying and shouldn't happen. Also the DVR is unbelievable, I can't even count how many times I have tried to record a show or series to watch when I get home from work and it has not recorded. I am from the east coast and maybe it's just a west coast thing but TV and internet out there is faster and more reliable. Luckily I only will be here another 6 weeks or I would cancel immediately and look for another service. read more

I have read many bad reviews and have a few friends who truly dislike charter but my personal experiences with them are about 95% positive. I always prefer going into my local office instead of calling. Most of the people there are really nice and very helpful. It is true that when your promo price ends you have to jump through a couple hoops to keep your price but I don't know of any TV or internet company that you don't have to do that with. I have tried dish and direct and after the very cheap rate they start you with it goes way, way up and your stuck behind a contract. I've been with charter on and off for over 10 years, I fell for the low promo dish and direct price myself, but always went back to charter. I was surprised when I first bought my place and found out they had service way out here. The TV is rather reliable. There are times that it will pixilate but it is almost always a loose wire, and I think 2 times now I just took the box in and exchanged it and that fixed my issue. Internet is 6 times faster then anything else available. I remember 3 times it actually went out and wasn't for very long. If speeds are slow reboot your modem and router. After extended use the ram and or buffer can fill or glitch, it's a part of using electronics your computer and phone are the same. Our internet freezes all the time. Our Netflix and Amazon Prime work, maybe, have the time . We've had techs come out at least 3 times for the problem and each time they say it's our fault. We've replaced everything in our house that has to do with the internet including new wifi blue ray players, a new $180 router and had our computer gone over. Still having the problem. If any business could get no stars this would be the one! I have had charter for a year now and thank god because it is time to cancel and go somewhere else. I was supposed to have a fixed rate when I first signed up but never not even once was my bill that fixed rate. Each month it was a hundred or two hundred over and each month I would call to figure out what was wrong only to get bs and lies and to never have anything fixed. Charter refused to ever fix my bill saying I had used whatever services they were charging me for even though I didn't ask for or even use the damn services. For instance the phone that they put on everyone's TV and charge for like no one will notice getting a freaking call across the screen...hello charter I never signed up for phone on my TV but that's OK keep charging me. Or how every damn channel is on there including the adult ones but my paperwork shows I only picked the hundred channel package but keep charging me even though I call each month and try to get you to fix your mistakes. They always say they will correct the problem and the next month the bill will only be a hundred and the next month comes and it is now three hundred. Round and round we go and nothing changes. I'm now planning to go somewhere else and will never have charter again. The staff is rude and not helpful and the company is full of lies. read more

On line they had a package deal for $39.99 when I called that was not available in my area. I was told that I would get cable and internet at $49.99 for both. Installation would be $19.99. I asked if that was right. He said yes. They come to install my services and it takes over 2 hours and still don't have cable. The installer leaves and said if I have no service in 24 hours to call in. The box has to download. I get the bill and it's not what I was told it would be. Cable cost $44.29 and internet $14.99. Installation $49.99. I call and the lady argues with me and says that is the right charge and got a attitude with me. Then wanted me to go on line and fined the price I had seen. Of course it's no long up any more. I told her they needed to come pick up the equipment, was told they don't do that and that I had to turn it in myself. Very unhappy with the service and customer service. Get all the information in writing and take pictures. I should have went with directv. read more

Well, the agents on the phone are pleasant enough but that's about the only thing I can say. A few years ago I wanted to ADD a line (more $ for them) for my business. I called, placed the order and was told the technician would actually be the one to call me back to schedule a date and time. Three weeks and many calls later I had to talk with a "supervisor" and threaten to cancel my service. Amazing how fast a technician called and scheduled me. Now, fast forward to last week... placed an order for additional voicemail features. Three additional calls only to be told each time a technician will call me. (I explained I was in a time crunch and had only about a week and a half to get this scheduled). Last call I said I would be cancelling my service if I didn't hear back before the end of the day. Guess who's no longer a customer of Charter? I'd get cellular service before using these guys again. read more
