Some time after, I noticed a small oil drip. At that point, it was never even fully determined whether it was something they did or simply a failed seal on our end -- and honestly, it was probably a part failure. What happened next is what truly sets this company apart. Michael, the owner, personally called me and handled the situation with professionalism and integrity. Because the line wasn't entirely clear on whether the issue was a failed part or something related to the service, he took ownership of making it right. His focus was on standing behind the work, doing right by the customer, and building a long-term relationship -- not pointing fingers. They went way above and beyond. Kia is notorious for requiring OEM parts (aftermarket just won't work properly), so they had to track down a specific part. Michael and his team called multiple Kia dealerships, pulled strings, and somehow managed to get the part the same day, even though we were originally told it could take several days. That alone was impressive. They repaired the vehicle immediately -- and the next morning, Michael and his father personally delivered the car to my house. His father has over 40 years of experience working on vehicles and plays an active role in overseeing the work, which really shows. The two of them together are an impressive team. In conversation, I mentioned to Michael that part of my work involves helping businesses think through customer experience, and we talked about what it looks like to truly take care of people. The hardest time to do that is when it costs the business owner money. This repair did cost him money -- and he still did the right thing without hesitation. I've already referred many people to Strickland Brothers in the past because of consistently good service -- but this experience was different. It has come to light after step 2, that Roland Tires did not attempt to deceive me regarding a needed rear brake job. I visited the store with the owner [Mark Roland and his service manager this morning to compare the rear brake pads with the remaining life according to the Lou Sabb Honda. Upon removing the wheels a visual review promptly revealed that the drive side rear brakes had approximately 1MM of life remaining, as was originally repprted. At Honda on 12/04 I was told and given fresh paper work reporting that there was 6MM of pad life left in both back wheels [2 inside and 2 outside pads] The visual inspection today disputes that and I have photos to substantiate it. A visit with Honda is scheduled for 12/11 to inquire why false reports was given twice! They send me out on the road with dangerously worn rear brakes TWICE! Bottom line, I am asking that the original complaint I authored on this site be ignored since it was incorrect in the final analysis. I further request that my advisement of Roland's doubtful trustworthiness be ignored. I was wrong, and I am looking into the trustworthiness of Lou Sabb Honda NOW! After my initial stress and panic I finally called Redferns. Chris answered and got to me within 25 minutes. Intially this was a mobile service and when he got there, he then told me he had to get his tow truck and take it back to his shop. He got it back there with no additional cost. It had to stay iver night because it was late. However, today he called me around noon said he found the initial issue and fixed that too.
