Ask the Community - Prestige Auto Repair

How much so they charge for a full synthetic oil change?

Every car or truck is different in quantity and oil filter type. So, it can range from 80.00 to 100.00 before shop fees and taxes.

I will definitely recommend this place for oil changes. I have a Hyundai and use this place…read moreregularly. You cannot make an appointment for oil changes but you can make an appointment for other services. Oil changes are first come first serve therefore always ask how long it's going to be in how many people are ahead of you they are very honest about the wait time and very accurate as well. Just ask before you take your seat . They are located on top of the hill. They have a large parking lot that you can walk around and there's a bench to sit and wait outside. There indoor waiting area is very limited. I suggest bringing your own water, thermos a coffee and snacks because once you're in line waiting for that oil change there is no turning back . Their service is fantastic. They are honest and single woman friendly, they don't try to rip you off. Their prices are fair and you can watch the work being done on your car as they do it, so nothing is hidden. The only reason for the four instead of five star review, it's because of the indoor waiting area is very small and they sometimes run out of chairs.

My son brought his truck there because it needed a radiator. They replaced the radiator, top and…read morebottom hoses, (only after we asked them to.). They didn't call to ask about any other work that might be necessary on the truck, such as, thermostat, water pump or any other normal parts you may want to have replaced. A week later, the truck was over heating again. We had it towed back to them and they said it was probably the thermostat sticking. We asked why they didn't replace it and they said, because we didn't tell them to. Any mechanic worth their salt would almost insist on changing the thermostat, at least. I can't believe the service writer didn't even call and try to sell us a thermostat. Nope. They don't seem to really care about the customer. The work itself seems like it was done well, so I don't know if the mechanic made the suggestion to the service writer and the service writer dropped the ball or not. This is not good business. This is the kind of thing that gives mechanics and shops all over a bad name. Now the truck is leaking antifreeze from what is probably the water pump. I am extremely disappointed in this shop. The service writer also tried to put everything off on my son like it was his fault they didn't suggest any additional parts. Oh, and the service writer test drove the truck and said he couldn't make it recreate the issue. They even checked the radiator and couldn't tell that it was ¾ of a gallon low on antifreeze. I would stay away from this location.

This one's for the service department. I haven't bought a vehicle here yet - already owned two…read morefairly new vehicles when we moved to Jasper. But began taking my Ford truck here for regular service - mostly oil changes. Then started bringing my Hyundai Sonata as well - not as good of luck with the Hyundai dealer - which is a 45 minute drive to the closest one. Service appoints are pretty easy through the web site. Very little waiting to drop off, and service is usually performed in a reasonable amount of time. One recent event bears special mention: I bought tires for the truck here last year - the 80,000 mile Michelin set at the dealer cost about the same here as the 40,000 mile "other" brand at the local tire shop. So when it was time for the Hyundai to get new sneakers, I came back here to shop. I chose a mid-level tire for this one - the price was great and I ordered a set to be installed the following weekend. When I arrived, the car was taken to the shop. A few minutes later, the service manager came to the waiting room with an embarrassed look on his face... when the delivery arrived, they got only one of the 4 tires I ordered. Oops!! "So what do we do," said I. He called around and found a better set than I ordered and offered them for the same price. No complaints from me! It took a little more time than I had expected, but I was released the same day, so I didn't have to come back. I was told later that the other three tires arrived two days after my appointment. Now, I could complain that I wasn't told that the complete order wasn't received on time, but the staff on hand was honest and did their best to correct the problem with a minimum of fuss. Caveat: I'm a long-time DIY mechanic. I decided to stop doing oil changes and routine service when I bought my 2012 F-150. I'll still change brake pads and do other replacement part service - I enjoy it and my local AutoZone provides lifetime warranties in whatever parts I get there. But the "works" package from Ford (oil/filter with inspection and tire rotation) costs me only a little more than the cost of oil and the filter. As a DIY-er, I don't have a lot of recommendations for mechanics, but I can say that our local Ford shop does a great job!
