The courts are well maintained and the facility overall is clean and organized. Plenty of space, good lighting, nothing feels run down or neglected. For a racquet club its just a really solid setup. What I didn't expect was the community aspect. People here are genuinely welcoming, especially to newer players. Didn't feel like I was intruding on some exclusive club thing, everyone was pretty cool and inclusive. They also do events like pickleball socials and wine tasting which is such a fun idea. Its a nice way to meet people and actually enjoy the space beyond just showing up to play and leaving. Location on Alluvial is convenient and easy to find. Parking is fine. If your looking for somewhere to play tennis or pickleball in Fresno this is a legit option. Good courts, good people, and more going on than just the sport itself.

This is while a pair of customers were trying to figure out their account. Ok the way out, I waved and the fellow that rounded out the 3 made eye contact with me before my full wave sign off but broke eye contact as if that was taboo. I'm not starved for attention, but simply acknowledging the high points of the other GB3's front staff etiquette being leagues above these 3. The machines are in mostly good order. Oddly they seem starved for plates, as I was looking for 10s and 25s throughout the free weights area. Operating as slow as it was, there were too many machines that I crossed in that search that were out of order. Which also means there should be more plates to go around for functioning machines. Not less. Definitely glad this isn't my home gym.

My biggest concern is that I would like to see more hands-on coaching, guidance, and encouragement from the coaching staff during training. At times, it can feel like a few athletes who are more outspoken or eager to "take the spotlight" dominate the opportunities, while other girls don't always get the same chance to participate, receive feedback, or demonstrate what they've learned. I believe training should be a true team environment where every athlete has an opportunity to learn, make mistakes, receive coaching, and grow. Coaches being more intentional about including and encouraging all athletes would make the experience even better. Overall, I appreciate what Valley Athletics offers and the skills they are teaching. I just hope the program continues to focus on creating an environment where every athlete feels seen, supported, and given a fair opportunity to improve.
