I ordered the French Vietnamese Au Lait along with a sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. I never thought I'd wish I lived in Smithtown until that moment. The coffee was absolutely divine, and the breakfast sandwich was perfectly made. If you're someone who isn't used to drinking coffee, do yourself a favor and don't order the quad version and then wonder why you're awake all night! It's delicious, but it's packed with caffeine and definitely lives up to its name. The café itself is clean, cozy, and inviting. It's the perfect place to study, catch up on work, or curl up with a good book. I ended up pulling out my Kindle and finishing my book club read while I waited for Hobby Lobby to open, and it couldn't have been a better way to spend the morning. There's a small parking lot, but I had no trouble finding a spot. The restroom was also incredibly clean, which I always appreciate. The customer service was outstanding, and everyone made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. I'll definitely be making the trip back to Smithtown for another visit. The negative reviews are kind of funny because of what people are complaining about. One guy went here to get coffee? No, this is not the place to get coffee, walk in the door and see that, it's not what they do. I don't think they even have an espresso machine here. I do have to admit that Park Bake shop does do breads and bagels but they are not very good. I tried once or twice because they looked good but the taste just isn't there. But what they do well is cookies, cakes, and pastries. Pretty much anything in the cases are excellent. All the cookies are awesome, always fresh, and all reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly, and they were able to make solid recommendations for teas to choose from. The tower is also well and fully stacked, all of the tiers had really delicious choices, and my fiance and I really enjoyed all of it. The coffee and espresso? Legitimately excellent--on par with some of the best third-wave shops on Long Island. Rich, smooth, perfectly brewed. You can tell they're serious about quality. The beans they use are from one of the best shops on Long Island, Flux Coffee in Farmingdale. The vibe here is warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. Great for meeting a friend, working, or just want to escape life for a bit. Fast Wi-Fi, plenty of comfortable seating, and a great selection of snacks that go way beyond your average café fare. What makes it even better is how much they clearly care about the local community. The staff is friendly and attentive, and there's a real neighborhood feel here - it feels like community.
