Just a short update... The day after swiping my credit card here in an attempt to fuel my vehicle, I checked my account online and saw a charge from this business for fuel. Apparently someone in line behind me managed to fuel their vehicle on my dime, even after I had pressed "cancel" on this transaction because the pumps weren't working correctly. Reported it to my credit card carrier as fraud and was refunded my money. read more

Why did it change from Hess to Speedway? I came here once lured in by the more reasonable gas prices as I wasn't going to stop by Costco anytime soon. First of all the pump lanes are horribly constructed. Very narrow and impossible to go around the car in front of you if you happen to finish before them. Worse yet if all the lanes are occupied by one car you are stuck. The flow of traffic only goes one way so you will have to do several turns to get back on the main street. The night I stopped by here it was not very busy but it was raining, and the print receipt function was out of order. I waited and waited with no avail, then continued waiting some more because the cars in front and around me were all still filling up. I can't even imagine how horrible this place would be during peak hours. No thank you I will avoid the congestion and confusion. read more

Saturday December 22, 8:45AM: the deals on Diet Coke were great (sure, I will take a second bottle for a penny more) but this location has always been a zoo when it comes to getting a pump and then (hoping) to get out; the chances of being blocked in are pretty good. When you are finally free of the pump area, unless it is early in the morning, just take a right on Highland Ave; that left hand turn isn't likely to happen. The woman working inside was really busy chatting away with a guy who is obviously a regular and needed his beverages and 5 Nutrigrain bars (??), and I was able to hear all about how she is working on the 24th (or 25th??) and is scheduled with a girl who most likely won't show up. read more

The employees are wonderful and patient. We are here all the time. I don't understand the bad reviews. Seriously, I have no connection with the business beyond that I am a customer, and a loyal one as it's close to us. The person working is always kind. They are understaffed like every business but they are really nice and efficient despite needing more help. They have taken more precautions during the pandemic than most gas stations I have visited. They also provide safety masks and gloves to customers. I love their soda machine too. My only complaint would be the air machine for tires needs to be fixed. read more

As an employee here we have dedicated our time during the pandemic to protect the public by, providing gloves, hourly sanitizing inside and outside surfaces, providing social distance stickers, sanitizer, and masks. However, a few bad apples will still come into the store without a mask and try to argue with us employees. There is a FedEx driver that frequents the store and consistently doesn't wear a mask, whenever I ask him to put on a mask he says that his money is dirty and that I touch his money so a mask does not matter. read more

I've been coming here since they were the wonderful Hess. Now a days the speediest way is to never come here at all. They are supposedly open every day at 6AM, but I've come here several times over the years between 6:15-6:45AM. The cashier refuses to approve the pump, which takes a $70 hold on your card when you're forced to cancel the transaction. After last Saturday, Never Again! read more

I've given this station 5 stars as a reward for honesty. When arriving in Maine after a trip from Virginia, I noted I was missing my charge card. I determined I had left at in a pump at this Needham Speedway gas station. I called the station and spoke with Mark. Mark told me that a customer had turned in the card and that he would safeguard it for me, even though I wouldn't return for four days. When I returned, he presented me with the card. I commended Mark on his honesty and the honesty of the person who turned it in. Mark said the station has great customers. Besides his honesty, Mark has a very pleasant personality. Experiencing this demonstration of honesty, was refreshing . read more

For this place "self-service" means the owner and his staff will -- barely -- move to take your credit card. Anything beyond that "ain't my job." One of many examples: they couldn't be bothered to post an "Out Of Order" sign on a nonfunctioning pump -- judging it preferable for a customer to waste his/her time trying to get it work before walking inside the store and reporting it. Another time when asked why they don't even have paper towels to use for cleaning a windshield, the owner gave his favorite one-size-fits-all response: "this is a self-service." I am not making this up. This is the worst gast station I've ever had the misfortune of stopping at. Short of running out of fuel before getting on the Mass. Pike (it's adjacent to Staples just before the entrance to the Pike), avoid at all costs. read more

I will never be coming here again. I used to come in to get snacks on my break, but as of today I'll be taking my business else where. The guy at the cash register was very rude to me when I pointed out a price discrepency, and proceeded to tell me he didn't like my tone and made a comment that I can't read.
