I submitted a roll of 35mm film at Robi's on June 18th, I did not get the digital scans back until July 12th. When I dropped it off, I was told it would take 2 weeks max because of 'staffing shortages'. Even when I was there, no one was even working in the lab that day. I should've taken that as a sign. 2 weeks passed, I gave them a call on July 3rd. Person on the phone seemed rather annoyed I was calling inquiring about my order and put me on hold for a few minutes. He came back, said he didn't see my order in queue, and to check back next week. I then get a call on July 5th telling me there's a delay in my order because... staffing shortages. You would think if they had a lot of orders in queue, that they would have the appropriate amount of staff on hand to get caught up. I mean, that's what most normal businesses do. They don't seem to care. A full week passes, and I call them again on Friday July 12th, rather annoyed. The girl on the phone couldn't even find my order at first, and had to double check with me what the name was and what date I took it in. She comes back and says it's gonna be completed that day. Finally. I receive the transfer, and I'm disappointed. Partially my fault as the photographer, some of my photos were underexposed. But there were a few photos that weren't even properly scanned and were cut off. See attached photo. I called back to see if they could re scan and send it over, they said they would look into it. That was 3 days ago, I'm not expecting a call back and don't care at this point. Unrelated to experience above, but I've also had digital prints done here in the past and have been disappointed with the quality. I get my prints with borders there was one instance where my borders were cut unevenly and were cut into the image itself. I had to ask for a reprint. The prices here for prints aren't even competitive compared to others, and I feel they are overpriced for what you get. I tried to give it one more shot, but I wont ever do business with Robi's again. It's a shame they are one of the only camera/print/film developing businesses around the south sound, but at this point I'll do business with online vendors that have a more reasonable turn around time and better quality (ex. TheDarkRoom, iPrintfromHome.com, etc.)

The coffee shop was worthy to visit and grab a donut or cup of coffee but poor barista was doing a couple of jobs at one time. He was struggling to help 3 customers and my watch was ticking so maybe next time our family will come have a coffee and donuts. The post office had the beautiful historic touch and my son adds it even have a smell of history. I understood well and it was not that bad smell but it had that historical groove and you felt good vibes here. It was kind of like a Mr Roger's neighborhood flavor and modern mixed in one. I enjoyed my visit and I will definitely be back. This trip to the post office brought a new experience and excitement about Tacoma! The hospitality at the actual post office was the highlight moment. Genuine old fashioned customer service and genuine smiles. The smiles was all contagious among strangers too. It is so many hidden gems of history in this place. Please Yelpers if you come , you will get camera crazy. I started to but my husband was restless for his other errands. That timeline quietly doubled to four weeks with no proactive communication or explanation. When we arrived on the promised completion date, we were told--without apology--that the frames were not ready. We followed up and were assured they would be complete the following day. Yet, upon returning once more, the frames were still not finished. Not a single phone call, update, or gesture of accountability was offered throughout this entire process. For a business that charges a clear premium for its services, the lack of professionalism and basic customer service is astonishing. Delays happen, but silence and indifference should never be part of the experience. Truly one of the most disappointing customer service encounters we've had--an unfortunate 10 out of 10 in all the wrong ways. I cannot, in good faith, recommend Frame Makers of Tacoma.

I asked whether bringing my certified legal name-change documents would be sufficient, and I was explicitly told yes. I made the trip to the office with everything I was instructed to bring: a valid government-issued ID and certified name-change documentation. Despite this, the clerk refused to notarize my paperwork for the exact issue I had already disclosed beforehand. This situation was completely avoidable and ended up being a huge waste of my time. I urgently need a certified copy of my birth certificate in order to obtain a new ID, which is why I took the extra step of calling in advance to confirm the requirements before coming in. lack of competency. I would not recommend this office based on my experience. **Review Update - Responding to the Owners comment** Your response perfectly illustrates why this experience was so frustrating. I fully understand that a notary has discretion and must comply with Washington law. The issue is that I specifically contacted your office beforehand, explained that my current ID reflects my married name while the birth certificate request reflects my birth name, and asked what documentation I needed to bring to verify my identity. I was told to bring my certified, court-ordered name-change paperwork. That is exactly what I did. A signed and certified court order for a legal name change is the same type of documentation required to update a Social Security card or obtain a new government-issued ID in the first place. Despite presenting that documentation along with my valid ID, I was still refused service for the exact issue I disclosed in advance. So while your response emphasizes that the paperwork needed to be "reviewed in person," that review ultimately concluded that official court-certified proof of my legal name change was somehow insufficient to establish that I was the same person -- which is difficult to take seriously. The problem was never that approval was not "guaranteed." The problem was that I followed the instructions your office gave me, arrived with the requested documentation, and still had my time wasted because you do not understand how to handle a straightforward legal name-change situation or were unwilling to exercise reasonable judgment. After reading through many of your other Yelp/Google reviews, it also appears this is not an isolated incident. There seems to be a consistent pattern of dismissive behavior, poor communication, and customers being blamed after relying on guidance provided by your office.
