I called 7 places in Nassau and surprisingly 6 of them said they didn't have the tire I needed, or the machine to balance it. This was Meineke/Mavis that told me this. Two of them recommended Al's tire but specifically said ask for Georgie. I thought it was weird but I called. Georgie asked a few questions on the current tires and said bring it in to see if a replacement was needed. (not some BS sales-pitch). I stated its damage is close to side-wall & I asked if he could order a new one just in case. The guy said yes & literally got the sport tire the next day. I showed up next day 15 minutes before he opened. His staff looked at my old tire & showed me hole on side-wall. They "CLEARLY" explained my options & started to the work fo replacing it. Georgie showed up about 7 minutes later and confimred everything (with a little more detail on my tire & what probably happened). 5 stars for this dude and his company. And even more amazing is the fact that they are literally across the street from our house. The communication via email with Ryan was spot on. I ordered the tires per other recommendations from Tire Rack mid morning on Thursday and they had arrived by mid day on Friday allowing my car to be serviced early Saturday morning. The price for an alignment was half of what we had anticipated and there was no attempt to nickel and dime us. My one wish ? That every task in life could be this simple and stress free. Instead of actually taking responsibility for the situation that he acknowledged his shop had caused, Ryan recommended I bring my axle to another shop to get a new boot at my own expense, and said he would not help me whatsoever in repairing the damaged axle, even if I supplied the parts. To add insult to injury, the leaking axle boot has flung grease all over my brand new suspension parts that I had installed just before the alignment. I really used to love this place, but frankly this is very unscrupulous behavior and will probably not come back after 5 years of being a customer here. Update: Just got home to find that the other axle boot was also melted the same way as the driver's side one. With labor, this is ~$1500 of damage to my vehicle, and they are not helping me with any of it.

Mom got into an auto accident with another driver coming into her lane and damaging the right front of her baby, her peppy mobile, her 2001 Honda Accord with 63,758 miles on it. I figured the car is done being 18 years young. So went out and got the 7 Series in the Ultimate Driving Machine, the BayerischeMotorenWerke for her and the services of a driver to take her anywhere. The gentleman quit after 3 hours and 40 minutes. Mom made it very clear that she was used to and very comfortable with her original vehicle and that the new wheels were a bit much. Hence, the new purchase with 241 miles on it sits in a garage in Gramercy Park in Manhattan. Started the process with the Insurance co. Adjustor Mike came out and loved the car stating current value $3780, repair estimate $1540. Got jerked around by a collision place in Westbury that was recommended - they kept the car for 17 days and did not do squat or even try. I called Paul. Great vibe, sounded like a straight shooter on the phone. Jose, his stellar employee came out to the house and towed the car( not drive able). The adjustor Mike came back as he had low balled. Then he called me to tell me that the car was a total loss and that they could" help me out" by reimbursing me the salvage value of $500 by signing the car over/selling to the Insurance Co. Mike and his coworker Jean from Claims had just attempted to graduate from the class" How to talk out of every crevice in my body'. Paul jumped on the phone in my presence and with my authorization spoke with Jean, talked the talk like her in her language and negotiated the fair reimbursement to ensure that the car that the Adjustor Mike loved was repairable with not a dime from my pocket. Loved it!!! This was on a Tuesday. The car was fixed and looked as good as new in 7 days. Paul fixed everything. Solid, stand up guy and stand up company!!
