I reached out to 502 Construction via Yelp, and Ted, the owner, responded directly to me and came out to look at our issue firsthand before giving us a quote. It meant so much to be able to talk to him about this from the start. The stone facade on a back wall in our garden had fallen off, due to water getting behind the stone and freezing. We also wanted to add a brick topper to that wall, to match the wall on the other side of our back yard, and we wanted a metal railing added to the length to prevent anyone from falling off the side of the wall, which abuts our parking pad. Ted's bid was fair, and when he started the work, he was at our house everyday (excluding a couple of days due to bad weather) until it was complete. He was communicative and receptive throughout. And his work more than met our expectations. He had to individually measure and cut maybe 100 bricks so that the topper would work with the incline of the wall. He went a couple of places to find brick that would match brick we already had at our house, and he cut and welded the railing on site. We still need to paint the railing, but it is night and day better compared to what it was. (I will be sure to add before-and-after photos once it is 100% complete.) Ted is going on our list of contractors to have handy and to recommend to all who will listen.

Cheap, but Poor quality work and poor longevity…read more They made several mistakes and took several shortcuts when doing my job initially. I caught much of it, like the 1/2 circle area being uneven and not a 1/2 circle, and not removing the existing patio enough in some areas that it would have poked through the top of the new one. Unfortunately, some issues made it past me including; -There is a low spot at the end of the steps which means when there is cold weather the first thing i get is a patch of ice at the foot of the steps. Pretty dangerous. -The "straight" sides are not all straight. This created unnecessary problems when having a deck built next to the patio. -The vertical part of the steps are not even. And now the concrete started spalling within about 3 years. Their answer to this? "Powerwash and apply a penetrating waterproofing sealer and it shouldn't get worse". I paid for their 'advanced sealant' when this was put in by the way. Unhappy customer here. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because it could have been worse as its not crumbling, just spalling.

In my opinion, this guy was already running late (not my problem) and just didn't want to drive to Boonesborough. Lazy. I'm a builder. A tradesman. Built homes for Habitat for Humanity, YouthBuild and a few others for profit. He gave us an invoice for work to be done on our driveway. It's supposed to come with a two-year warranty. He wanted us to make the checks payable to his name and not the company. He would go to the bank and cash the check directly apparently. The quality of work was very poor, I have called him since he did the job in January, came up with many excuses why he couldn't come, out of town, etc. has yet to come to repair the horrible work, which only lasted two days after done even after letting the driveway dry an additional two days than recommended. I asked him kindly when he would come, he blocked me, no further answer any of his emails. Please don't fall victim to this person. I tried to give him some business. Please see a copy of the invoice. The man never came back to do his job and he blocks your number when you ask him when he's coming back to back up the warranty. I have been waiting since January.
