Best LIHEAP experience ever! Margaret was wonderful: professional, knowledgeable and compassionate!…read more The process was done quickly and efficiently! This is a good team of caring individuals and a welcoming community! As a former recruiter, I cannot appreciate this experience more.

I had no choice but to pay a visit to the European American Association which I had never heard of…read morebefore. I needed to have electronic fingerprints taken to sit for the N-CLEX nursing exam and this was the most centrally located Chicago location for L-1 Enrollment Services (now named MorphoTrust USA, but no one uses the new name--kinda like the Sears versus Willis Tower renaming). The association is housed in an old brick home practically under the Division Street Puerto Rican arches, across from Humboldt Park (in other words, I probably wouldn't visit after dark). It's an interesting setting with an "Open" sign that is always turned to "Closed," a cat walking around the premises, people speaking European languages loudly, and signs posted all over the walls and doors. Step inside, sign the sign-in sheet, and have a seat while you wait for your name to be called. Luckily, I had an appointment through L-1's website and met with a lovely older Latina who chatted it up with me. The fingerprinting process was quick and electronic only lasting about 15 minutes. I just warn you not to use your cell phone while receiving services, there are signs all over. She handed me a brochure on the association and the services they provide to the community. To mention a few: -Fingerprinting through L-1 Enrollment Services (http://www.l1enrollment.com/state/?st=il) -Passport photos for $10 also through L-1 Enrollment Services (http://www.l1enrollment.com/state/?st=il) -Public notary (FREE, but donations are accepted) -Homecare services for the elderly -Emergency senior home repair -Low-income Housing Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Community and Economic Development Association (CEDA) application assistance -Clean & Green neighborhood clean-up program volunteers I figured I would share on Yelp since I found EAA to be a neat community center with many languages spoken (including Spanish, Romanian, Hungarian, Russian, Polish, and Ukrainian), in addition to great local services that are available to the public.
