I am looking to give another little furbaby a new home, so hopefully, I will be able to find a suitable rescue through LCHS once again. This will be the 3rd rescue in 20 years I will have given a safe and loving home. Our cocker spaniel, Roxie, also lived to be over 16 years old! Our home, without a dog, is just no home at all! The vet at BAH examined my dog 3 days prior to his stay here and was also the one to put him down. He couldn't believe how bad he looked. I asked the office why they didn't call me. The response sorry they didn't tell me. I don't want a refund. I want you to close down. You have no business looking after people's pets.

The woman who helped us picking up the dogs said that they did not give the malabsorption medicine to her but did give her the other pills. She said that she was not the one that did the intake (she was) and wasn't working over the weekend. I typed explicit notes on how much food, medication etc., the pills were organized in a pill container and I found that note crumpled up on the bottom of the bag with all their stuff. Over the next day my older dog was restless and panting so I ended up taking her to the emergency vet for treatment. She had fluid on her lungs and was put on oxygen and given IV treatment to remove the fluid. All in all it cost me $1,600. I truly believe they did not give her the heart medicine that keeps this from happening. I called and spoke with the owner who said he would "talk to the girls" about this and he was sorry. After thinking about this over the weekend, I called back and asked for a refund which I did not get. He said the girls claimed they gave her all her medicine, and I told him that I did not believe him. He said well he believed them and I was not getting a refund. It is clearly evident that I dropped off a dog exhibiting no apparent health problems and picked up a very sick dog. The owners really could have cared less about what happened. He basically paid me back with nothing but lip service. I will NEVER board my dogs there and recommend other do not use them. Side note: I live in Tallahassee not in California and I am not sure how my location changed.

North Florida Animal Hospital has all this and more in abundance. Our cats have been using their services for over 10 years. And each time we have been back for a scheduled checkup we feel like family who have come back for a visit. The reception and technical team are friendly and efficient. And the vets are knowledge, caring and personable. Dr Steele had cared for our cats for years, and it is clear that she not only loves her job, but that she also loves her patients. When one of our cats died a few years ago, her sadness and compassion were evident. Now that our second cat is having issues, at the age of 17, we have again turned to her for advice and assistance. She treats our cat like he was her own and has made sure that we know exactly what is happening. In fact, she is the one who has called to tell us lab results and she's taken the time to meet with us when we brought him in for overnight treatment. We trust her, the other vets, and the team with the most vulnerable members of our family. And they could not be in better hands. I'm so glad that they are the team who takes care of, and is now caring for, our pets.

They don't try and push giving meds before vet visits which I really appreciate. I ask for a muzzle just in case during any exams/vaccinations and they let me put it on her and are always so sweet with her and never make me feel like a "bad owner" or question me for asking for preventative measures. I would highly reccomend them to anyone and everyone! My puppy gets to be happy and healthy and I am not stressing about vet visits weeks in advance!!

When questions were asked re costs for extra blood tests & whether records showed vaccinations from previous year (thus eliminating the need for them at appointment), the vet said he'd go check and return with the information. He never came back because he had already administered the vaccine and didn't want to tell you, and when the vet tech finally returned dog, she provided a doc showing vaccination had already been administered (so vet lied). There was NO written summary of the exam documenting what had been done. Conclusion: removal of animal for complete exam behind closed doors is suspicious and contrary to standard practice. Most vets/vet techs WANT the human involved with the exam. I have NO assurance that anything they billed me for doing actually occurred, nor do I trust this vet or vet tech. When all of this was relayed to both vet and vet tech, the only reply was they'd put it in my records that I wanted to be present during the exam of my dog.
