Our 9 (now 10) yr old son had his very first surf session with Aarin back in October and he was up on the board almost immediately! He loved it and was hooked! Aarin is wonderful with teaching kids about not only surfing but also about the importance of taking care of our ocean and the creatures who live there! We knew we had to book with SPI Sessions for our next trip which was this week! Our son had two surf sessions with Gaines! His excitement for surfing and the ocean is contagious! Our son had a blast surfing with Gaines and we look forward to coming back in October and seeing him again! Gaines was very informative with us and let us know exactly how he's doing and the next step type lessons that we can look forward to! All the booking and arrangements were done via text and Aarin has great communication so we knew if there were any location changes or adjustments that needed to be made due to weather! We wish we came during a time when our son could experience one of Aarin's camps! I highly highly recommend this experience! I'm positive their SUP tours would be just as fun and something we hope to do on our next visit as well as surf lessons for our son! read more

An enthusiastic 5 star review from my 9 year old who has never been on a surf board. After arriving at SPI she decided she wanted to learn to surf. We signed her up for a drop in day of surf camp with SPI Sessions but she ended up with a wicked sunburn the day before. Aarin was kind enough to move her reservation to another day and she was so excited to go!! She has raved about the experience and is bummed we are leaving in two days and she can't do more camp. We will definitely plan more camps when we return and we appreciate the kind and patient staff for teaching her to catch some waves!! read more

This was excellent. We scheduled my 12 year old son for a surfing lesson. It was fantastic. We felt very safe and confident in the instructors. Our son had a great experience. He had never surfed before, but half way through the one hour lesson he was able to stand up on the board and ride. Very happy and have to say the price for the one-on-one lesson was perfect. We only have a few days left on our vacation, but will try and get in another lesson before we leave. I highly recommend working with these folks. Great attitudes and fun with the kids. read more

My family booked 2 hours on a jet ski tour looking forward to time out on the water. During the jet ski ride, the guide told us we would have to return then come back out on the water after returning the ski for the first hour. No one had indicated that was the setup previously and so I stepped in and asked to skip the second hour and receive a refund for the unused hour. The staff at the shop agreed to refund the second hour because of the misunderstanding and we left thinking all was good. 10 days after I arrive home and my third call to the shop asking why the refund hadn't been issued yet I am informed by the staff that they refuse to issue the discount because I paid for both hours understanding their policy up front (which I did not). I will not do business with these people again because they were deceptive in their sales of the product and again when they said they would refund the fee and did not follow through when I was 600 miles away. What a complete ripoff. FWIW the wave runner ride was fine and the staff were friendly and competent as far as the safety and ride experience. But when they steal your fees and don't provide the service it blows the whole experience. read more

We went to SPI for a family vacation and, by sheer serendipity, stumbled upon SPI Sessions. SPI Sessions (& Aarin) turned out to be the backbone of our trip. Our kids (10, 10, 8, 6) surfed hourly with Aarin & team every day. She had them standing up and riding waves, and more importantly, just having fun; they couldn't wait for their hourly sessions. They even tried some trick riding (headstands, tandem, etc) by the end of our time there. We also went stand-up paddleboarding with SPI Sessions as a family on the bay side and it was a trip highlight -- perfect sunset paddle that was a real confidence-builder for the kids on the SUP (they have kid-sized SUPs which made all the difference). But even more was the way Aarin incorporated her love of SPI & the water into everything. Our kids learned about animals, water health, etc -- a real science class packed into a surf session each day. Can't recommend SPI Sessions enough. Just complete no-brainer for surf lessons, SUP outings, and/or kids camp. We're headed back to SPI for more, with the kids looking most forward to time with SPI Sessions & Aarin. read more

We attended our first 3 day surf camp w/ my 13 and 15 year old. I was a little nervous about them not being challenged as they were the oldest kids in the class. The camp gave them their own instructor and really made sure the older kids had a great experience. It was basically like having private lessons for 3 hours. We were so impressed that we definitely plan to go back next year. read more

A must do activity while here! We had never gone paddleboarding before but Erin had us up, out, confident and having fun in no time!
