During that time, I looked around in his shop and found high quality surfing accessories including surfboards, bikes, clothing, swimsuits and jewelry. A variety of items offered to fishermen and fisher women. Why is it that fishermen is an accepted homonym and fisherwomen is auto corrected? Anyway, the store is similar to a general store as offers up sodas, chips, and other snacks as well as toys and clothing and more items for anyone who fishes. Once all forms were filled out they were pretty swift at getting us the cart. About an hour after leaving our steering wheel started acting funny, we went back to see if they would switch it, not only did they, they also upgraded us to a 6 seater for the inconvenience. Aside from the owner or shop manager who was very offensive and inappropriate towards my friend making sexual comments when getting the cart initially, it would have been a great experience.

I wrote a review 10 years ago and had to comment again bc he's apparently still in business. Save your money folks and go find someone that isn't such an asshole to go fishing with. Captain Gary Farmer at Angler's Choice made a great first impression! He seemed knowledgeable, easy going and prepared. I immediately knew we were a good fit and scheduled a 5 hour bay fishing excursion that very weekend. His 24 ft Carolina Skiff was roomy and comfortable and the perfect size for the 5 of us to fish. Short of our beer and food, he provided all the supplies (tackle, bait, rods/reels) that we could possibly need for our trip. When we arrived at our first fishing spot, he reminded all of us how to properly cast before handing over our poles. Something I was particularly thankful for, as it had been so long since my last cast. Every time we would move to a different location, or change bait, he'd share the best techniques to catch our fish. We caught a ton of fish! Our final haul included 9 trout and 1 2 ft red. My original instinct about Captain Gary was right on. He was friendly, knowledgeable and more than prepared for our trip.Additionally, he told us when to come back to catch particular types of fish and was able to answer a variety of random questions I had about the local wildlife and flora. Our plan of attack on future trips to the beach will involve going fishing with Captain Gary immediately upon our arrival, so we'll have all the fish we could possibly eat for the rest of our trip. Save yourself the trouble and guesswork of choosing a fishing guide and go with Captain Gary. He's the best!

I have been fishing plenty of times throughout my life but that mostly consisted of trips to the…read moreLake or small pond fishing for Bass, catfish, crappie and similar freshwater fish. I had never experienced Bay fishing before I scheduled that first trip with Captain Clayton Mock; and what an exciting and different experience it is from what I was used to. First off, I was under the assumption that we might have to go out into deeper waters which made me a little nervous because of how choppy the ocean can get but it turns out you stay in between the Island and the mainland where the waters are almost always calm and perfect. There are also plenty of spots where you are fishing in only a few feet of water which allows you to see so many different kinds of marine life. Capt Clayton Mock has been fishing these waters since he was child so he knows all the best spots. Not only that but his equipment is topnotch; everything from the Rods, to the lures, to the Boat; I felt confident with all aspects of the trip. Now for the best part; catching fish. I couldn't believe how different this experience was from the fishing I was used to. It's definitely like nothing I had ever experienced. The Redfish put up a tremendous, yet manageable, fight. Every time you hook one you are in for a treat. And trust me, he put us on plenty of fish which gave us a lot of exciting moments. We also caught Trout which aren't as strong as the Redfish but they have some wicked front teeth and I even caught the crazy looking flounder (which can be tricky to do at times and honestly wouldn't have been possible without the direction and advice of Capt Clayton). I have been fishing with Captain Clayton Mock twice now, once with a friend and once with my dad, and both experiences were very enjoyable and very successful. I absolutely plan to go back because I really want to take my girlfriend. This is definitely a fishing trip that can be enjoyed by anyone. P.S. Heading out from the Marina as the sun rises is icing on the cake. It's so beautiful out there on the water so don't forget to take pictures and most importantly enjoy your day!!!!
