Vitamin A found in the greatest level in fresh apricots and beet green tops helps fight and prevent cancer. Lunds is a gorgeous store but way way too expensive for me. Target is a great option for super low prices but stock/ variety are VERY limited and fruits veggies are extremely limited/ manhandled a lot by customers. Flavor is lacking in potatoes yams and in a lot of Targets fruit which is picked when green. Target runs after the cheapest resource. Their quality is not great. Then CLEANLINESS is essential to me. HyVee aces this. I love the WIDE spacious aisles, the extremely high ceilings and non glaring softer lighting. Thus you have a calmer more relaxed ambiance - - rare today in grocery stores. I come EVERY week here. Their daily sales on beef chicken and pork in special cases, some seasoned thus ready to cook, are excellent FRESH QUALITY! GREAT SALE PRICES too. Their homemade giant variety of FRESH BRATS are pure heaven - - cheddar and original are my FAVORITES! Their " drug store". A few things, but I decided to wait on them as the price was still a little high. I ended up making my way over to the bakery and came across the cinnamon roll morning buns which I had the next afternoon and they were still fresh and delicious. I'm a huge cinnamon roll fan and this checked all the cinnamon roll yum for me. The store was clean and bright. Lots to offer. I always like to allow myself time to look around in kowalski's because there is always just so much they offer. The gentleman who rang up my groceries was very quiet and it was like pulling teeth to get him to even say hello which is too bad as this is basic customer service skills in any job/position. I did a little checking out of the aisles but grabbed my milk, an apple, an energy drink (for the hubby) and a little snack. One thing to note is that they don't have lottery or scratch offs. No biggie. Also...Some things can be priced a bit more expensive than a "normal" grocery store but that's to be expected for the convenience. Ex ben & Jerry's a pint is roughly $8.49. I was able to stop in a little after 9 to get everything I wanted. They offer prepackaged meal deals that's even cheaper than picking your own. It's a great offer because you get one entire choice and two sides; anything labeled a side is a side option and the entires are labeled too but don't trust the internet because they said you could mix entries and you can't get half and half of chicken and fish. The staff at the deli counter was pleasant, helpful and patient while I was trying to decide. They even have individual meals too so you don't have to commit to one meal prep option for the week. Appreciate that you can also drop off your Amazon returns here too. Space is clean, well lit and lots of parking. Pro tip: get the brown butter chocolate chip cookies, it's worth it.
