I was greeted by a couple (who I'm assuming are the owners) and a lady (who I'm assuming is their friend). All sweet, talented and friendly people. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and to my surprise it was whatever I wanted to pay as they claim to be a nonprofit organization. They are really just lovely folks and the coffee was great. The setting was almost antique like, with Christian books for sale and instruments as the owner played for me. I am definitely coming back! I highly recommend.

The worker said that he didn't know if they could call when it's done and if we need a call or text when it's done to just order online. That's a little weird because I'm sure they can call when an order is complete. So we just decide to order online, since that guy didn't seem to know what's going on. We ordered through the website and it tracks everything. So we went and looked at Walmart and by the time we were done it said the cake was almost complete. We called to verify and it had another 10 minutes before being ready. While waiting we did get two of their pastries which were really good. Some custard filled pretzel shaped item and an almond croissant. Both were so good! I took off a star because the guy working could have been more helpful. Maybe he needs some additional training, so he can answer customer's questions better. The inside was clean, but the pastry cabinets were only about halfway filled when we went in and I'd expect them to have more variety of items and be full being that early in the morning.

There are different hot specials each day, plus a limited list of sandwiches. I was saving room for the pie, so I had the Deluxe Grilled Cheese. It included bacon, lettuce, tomato and one of three cheeses on sour dough toast, plus chips or fries on the side for $8.95. I chose the Swiss cheese. Best grilled cheese I've had in a long time! Mom had the burger, and lemon cake. I got a bite of mom's lemon cake, and it was also wonderful. The restaurant is open 11 - 2 for lunch, and 5-7 for dinner during the week, and lunch only on Saturdays. If you're visiting Alabaster Caverns or just looking for a destination to drive or ride to, this place is worth the trip! It's small with only about four tables and it looked like she only baked one pie and one cake, so if you're going with a group, you might want to call a day ahead to be sure she makes enough dessert.
