Such a quaint, wonderfully decorated, authentic-looking place to sit and enjoy the time both day and in evening hours. This place will bring a smile to your face every time you go. We meet there for coffee and pastries and just talk. There's a great nook in the back where I bring books for others - I pick up a book, leave a book. It's an amazing place and one you'll want to tell others about. The food is good, the coffee great. We just moved to the area & I was searching for a local coffee shop instead of a big chain. This shop had several great reviews so I thought I would try it out. I'm not sure the barista's name, she had blonde hair. I never seen her smile at a customer one time or say thank you. The 20 minutes I waited to order, she took one order at a time until I ordered, then she took 3 other orders in a row & waited to make my drink (which wasn't anything fancy, straight fall special flavor) after making the 2 of the people that ordered after me first. I did not leave a tip upon ordering (I paid with cash & I believe a tip is earned & shouldn't be expected), I'm not sure if that's why my order was pushed behind or not. I definitely did not leave a tip after the service I received. I will say the other barista that came in @ 9 was phenomenal. She worked the window & produced triple the amount of the one working the counter. It was definitely a let down for someone trying out the coffee shop for the first time. The drink was so-so. I ordered the Sweater Weather latte which is white chocolate & pumpkin, however I couldn't taste pumpkin at all which was surprising because it's a strong flavor. read more

Traveling west on I-40 is not like the run on Rt. 66 back in the day. But there are opportunities to get a little bit of what it was like. Needed a cup of coffee and generally like to hit the local shops whenever possible (no slam on Starbucks, just a personal preference). The Iron Tree Coffee Company popped up on my navigator which said it would only cost me 10 minutes. Why not?!? Pulled off at El Reno and the navigator took me right through town. At first I was a little irritated at what was looking like more than 10 minutes, but then realized how much is missed traveling on the expressway. El Reno appears to be very nice town and the folks at the Iron Tree did not disappoint. Very friendly and quick with the coffee. I had a vanilla latte and my daughter an iced Americano. Both were wonderful and mine had a little more bite than I was used to; but I really liked it. If you are traveling west on I-40 and need a cup AND have a little more than 10 minutes I would definitely recommend the Iron Tree! Take some time and take a breath and enjoy a little Americano. read more

I was super excited to visit this place in El Reno due to how it looked on the outside, and the pictures from Yelp... Well, boy was I wrong. The location is great, and the inside is spot on, BUT... this place is suppose to be a coffee shop, and I gotta say I've had way better.. like even from Starbucks (YUCK). Literally, if this places coffee was even just "ok" i still would've been given it a second chance. I'm sure it would be a great place to chill, and study, BUT its hard to sit in a place that doesnt even have "ok" coffee. If they wouldn't of burnt the beans then i think it would've been some "ok" coffee, but my coffee was steaming literally for a good 15 minutes. I hope this place can get a better barista, or some better beans, because this is too nice of a location for the coffee to ruin the place. read more

My second time here. As other reviews state, this is a gem. I deliberately detoured off of I-40 just to get my caffeine shot enroute from PHX to NWA. On Memorial Day weekend: just catty-corner across the street is a touching veteran's memorial (as a veteran I fully appreciate the tribute). My last visit I was delighted to accept a gifted cup of coffee from a local (gracious, petite, bold woman). (She had seen my vet plates.) It's not easy detouring from one's cross-county route but I love finding and repeat visiting these local establishments. Thank you to the determined and diligent business owners who accept the responsibility of urban renewal. P.S. Check out the beautiful vintage ceiling tiles. read more

I feel bad giving this one star but, the espresso was horrible. Normally I can power through bad coffee for the sake of caffeine but not with this one. Maybe the morning barista is better? I moved out of El Reno in 1990 and only came back for a family funeral. My wife and I had a couple of hours before the funeral and stumbled on Iron Tree Coffee. It was a great little coffee house. The decor and atmosphere reminded me of indie coffee shops on the west coast. Super clean. Helpful staff. The coffee was very good. I would highly recommend this little gem in El Reno. read more
