The specialists are typically very young, friendly, and engaging. They play the same video clip over and over again everyday outside in the waiting area. The magazines are not renewed too often. My friend's physio therapist has definitely helped him regain his knee strength, but unless you have insurance coverage, the price for physio in my opinion, is too damn high!!

It took a while to book my initial appointment, but it was worth it. All I want is to get my back cracked, I got that and more. In our first consultation, he checked my mobility and movement and assessed that I have a mild form of mechanical pain. He created a treatment plan of 5 sessions and included exercises that would help develop my core to prevent injury during sport/workouts and improve my posture. He went beyond that by providing a brief high-pressure targeted deep massage at the beginning of the first and each subsequent session. I wouldn't say it's relaxing, but I love the pressure. He'll adjust based on your tolerance though my motto is no pain, no gain, so I take it full on. We worked mainly on my upper, lower and mid-back. *TIP* If you want to work on your back, wear a tank top instead of a strappy sports bra. I've been working on those three exercises he taught me each day. I would say they are easy enough to add to your routine and incorporate daily. Oh and it's always wonderful when a clinic charges directly to my insurance, saves all the pain of admin work.

You can choose from a range of days and times for all the available RMTs. You get an immediate e-mail confirmation, and another e-mail reminder the day before your appointment. The front entrance is a bit small and not too fancy, but you are always greeted nicely, and offered a choice of the day's hot and cold fresh tea offerings. You can change into slippers if you wish, and sip your tea if you have a few minutes before your appointment. Those are just the extras, and the best part is definitely the massage. Staff are so professional, very soothing, and you feel like you're in the hands (literally) of a capable healer. That might sound a bit odd but it is truly how you feel while you're there. I never feel rushed, and I am always asked each time about specific issues or trouble spots, or things to avoid. It amazes me how well everything I ask for can be accommodated and accomplished. 100% recommend.

What I Tried: Physiotherapy What I Liked: Physiotherapist Priyanka conducted a variety of tests to isolate specific issues with specific muscles. She was comprehensive, friendly and knowledgeable. She prescribed exercises that were logical to my issue. Most importantly, she explained my challenges and answered all my questions with in a logical and friendly demeanor. A+ What I Didn't: Punctuality (15 min late). Administrative disorganization (had me fill in same forms twice before realizing). Also.. Maybe orthopedics. Possibly massage. DETAILS: I have been looking for a physio place in the area and decided to give Absolute a try. They offer a free* consultation for your first visit and I figured I'd see if they could tell me more about my hip pain. I do a lot of reading and research on my own (internet physios what's up... AthleanX and 'Bob & Brad'l!) so I had a rough idea, but specific confirmation and clarification from an in-person meeting is better. My 7 pm appointment started 15 minutes late. I had prefilled all my paperwork in advance, so, as I had told them, I only arrived 6 to 8 minutes early instead of the 15 they recommended... I don't mine 5 to 10 minutes lateness, but 15 was a bit excessive since THEY charge $25 if you miss YOUR appointment time with them. This lateness was exacerbated by the ad playing on the TV mounted on the wall. It's a slideshow video on repeat, and it inspired me to bring earphones next time. My annoyance, however, was nearly instantly dispelled when I spoke with the actual physiotherapist, Priyanka. SHE KNOWS HER STUFF. She had me do a series of actions to isolate and determine the issue, clearly explained each exercise test and it's aims, and was oozing knowledge. She used the model skeleton to explain where necessary, and conjured up clever metaphors to help me understand. She also noted it would only take 2 or 3 sessions for me to recover, and told me what exercises to get started on, and did a demo, and gave me feedback on my form. Excellent! Here's the tricky part. She then asked if I wanted treatment today. Appointments are generally 45 minutes long... I had been taken in 15 minutes late... the consultation had taken about 20 minutes or so. So we are sitting at 7:35 or so, and I thought, 'sure'...? I get some hands-on muscle loosening work for about 10 minutes, then the assistants strap me to some nodes connected to a machine and I was left on my own with the electrotherapy... which really didn't do much for me. The centre closes at 8, so about 15 minutes later, I'm off the machine and get along my way. At the exit, I was informed that last 20 odd minutes would be the full $100 since I had gotten the "electro treatment"... Well, I don't agree BUT to be fair... I 100% think Priyanka's free* consultation was worth the $100. But I figure IF that was free, then the 20 or so minutes at the end was only half the treatment I'd normally get. Who charges $100 for 20 minutes!?! That should have been $50, max. And if that was for the full 45 minutes I was there... then the consultation WASN'T free as advertised. Womp womp. This left a good feeling in my hip but a bad feeling in my mouth. Plus, at the end, they also mistakenly got me to fill out the same insurance forms at the end that I had already filled them earlier (but they realized halfway). Hoping for better experience on my next visit and will update review accordingly! Most health places reply to unsatisfactory reviews by saying they look you up in the system but can't find you. The space is nice and clean and the treatment rooms are all private. I've been seeing Dr. Iris for awhile now and appreciates that she takes the time to work with you in managing your issue but also educating you about how to prevent further injury/pain. They have the latest equipment. They are a newer clinic so they've really taken the time to go and get up to date stuff. I highly recommend going to them if you're looking for chiropractic/acupuncture services! I'm sure the RMT Is also great!

Not saying doctor was not knowledgable but maybe in my situation I self diagnosed myself with along with an Australian professional power lifter I met on vacation who told me back pain and the "no exercise or lifting diagnosis" was BS and to walk everyday for half an hour and start training again and over 2 weeks all my pain went away. Got more from a one lined sentence from a random dude who said "mate just walk 30 mins day and start lifting I reckon will be fine"...

We both have coverage through benefit plans and paid a $25 premium for an RMT massage. King Thai Massage did not mention that they would not be covered by SunLife and when my husband put the claim in through later that night it was rejected as King Thai Massage is a delisted provider. I am now out $60 on something I assumed would be 100% covered. I requested some accommodation by just refunding me the $25 RMT premium and the location refused. Needless to say I will never go back and I hope to warn others ahead of time as well.

The receptionist softly asked me to take off my shoes then gave me a form to fill out. She asked me what type of service I would like. I chose an hour combination Thai and and Swedish. I was taken to a room with massage bed and given scrubs to change into. I had PTA, a gentle lady, who asked me to tell her what complaints I had. She gently but with strength went over my entire body and massaged and stretched while breathing deeply. I walked out of this place feeling very loose and relaxed. I would certainly return.
