At discharge nurse dismissed my father's breathing difficulties, wheezing and fast breathing. Pushed him into wheelchair despite my concern for his respiratory status. Was rushing to get him out because "she was getting another patient", gave incomplete and incorrect post op teaching where my mother didn't know what to do. When asked about an ice machine for recovery said "well I'll sell ya one for $200". Then provided no education, said there is a pamphlet that shows you what to do because she was rushing him out. Then did not verify post op medication discrepancy with surgeon which led to father missing dose of pain medication at home. Father was a number and nothing more. As a 22yr ortho/surgical nurse I would suggest going elsewhere. Will not allow anyone with patient while they are being preoped which can lead to mistakes in medical history, and caregivers being unaware of what they need to do. As well as cause anxiety for patient and family.

I immediately felt at ease with both the location and visit. I saw Dr. Hughes at both the Ridgewood and Med Center locations. Both facilities were well-maintained and welcoming. I appreciated the time Dr. Hughes spent in answering my questions and I felt confident that he was prescribing the best care possible. I also appreciated his plan for not immediately recommending surgery and instead planned on taking new x-rays three weeks later to ensure recovery was progressing as expected. It would have been very easy to say "surgery is needed" as an easy way to get paid, so it made me feel I was truly being valued as a patient and with the best care in mind vs. making money off of me. After two follow-up visits with X-rays, he confirmed my foot was healing as expected and no surgery was needed. Now, 4 months post-injury, my foot is fully functional again and I know that wouldn't have been the case if I didn't trust my gut and get a second opinion from Dr. Hughes and TSAOG. Would absolutely use again if ever needed.

They said he needed a spinal fusion for 3 discs, possibly 5 at 24 years old, this would have severely limited his future. Finally"met" Dr. Cyr on a video call that made my warning bells go off. He gave my son a time frame of 2 weeks for surgery at the end of May. Then, we were told he was leaving the country the day after for a month and will not take accept our insurance in July. Immediately started looking for 2nd opinions and multiple spine surgeon, different offices, said he didn't need a fusion and admonished doctors that do this.

I was initially seen by Dr. Kevin Kempf and after various tests, x-rays, etc he was finally able to diagnose my condition. Unfortunately, Dr. Kempf moved on to his own office and my insurance didn't allow me to follow him. However, Dr. John Huff took over my case and was a godsend. I was under his care until he retired last year. At that time he sold his practice to Dr. Fernando Silva. After Dr. Silva took over, I assumed he would want to review my case on my first trip in to see him. However, he let his PA see me. Ok, well he will see me on my second trip. No. Again, he let his PA see me. He finally saw me on my third trip but he was less than interested in my treatment. I continued to stay with this office due to the infusion nurse Mary. She was awesome. Unfortunately, 2020 has brought us the pandemic and things went crazy. The night before my March infusion, Mary called to let me know that Dr. Silva was not letting any patients come to the offices for treatment. He was handling everything by phone. That's great, except you can't get an infusion over the phone! They made no plans on how they were going to take care of their infusion patients. Basically, they said "take care of yourself"! Then they had the nerve this week to call and ask if I needed an appointment. What a joke they are! Fortunately, I was able to get in to see Dr. Kempf in March and have happily been with him ever since. A review on his office will be posted soon. If you have need of a great rheumatologist, please stay away from Dr. Silva!

I have history of Lupus Nephritis, and for once in a very long time it is being managed appropriately. Truly, I have never felt better! We're a great team, because let's be real, if you don't put in the effort as well, you'll never get better. I am finally off of prednisone and get better each time I see him. He is so professional, kind and he truly cares. He makes sure you understand everything before you leave. He doesn't rush your care and leaves plenty of time for questions. His office staff has also always been very kind to me. I thank God for bringing me to TX and to this wonderful Dr.
