Great food, the view is amazing. Celebrated anniversary dinner, couldn't have had a better experience

It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was excited to celebrate my friend's birthday in what seemed like a promising venue. Live and you learn I guess. The panoramic vistas from this restaurant are absolutely breathtaking, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or special occasion. However, while the food was undeniably delicious, it came at a steep price for the a la carte options. Unfortunately, the drinks left much to be desired; they were disappointingly weak and lacking in flavor. Additionally, the bread served was subpar, a surprising misstep considering the high standards set by the rest of the menu. Moreover, the initial wait times for a greeting, bread service, and cocktails were unreasonably long, detracting from the overall dining experience. Our server, although friendly, seemed to struggle with the basics of her job, especially considering the low volume of the restaurant. Given the hefty bill and the numerous disappointments throughout the evening, I left feeling dissatisfied and unlikely to return. Considering the steep prices for both food and drink, I expected nothing short of exceptional service, which unfortunately was not the case. As such, I don't foresee returning unless significant improvements are made across the board. This place is honestly only worth it for the view. I would say the food was worth while if it wasn't so ridiculously overpriced. If you like a nice view, good service, cocktails, and reasonably priced quality food then go Teak at the St. Pete pier. $36 for 3 bacon wrapped scallops $60 lamb shank $72 dollar filet $12 sides Everything comes a la carte and only few thing come with an included side. :( read more

Although the view on this place is stunning, service is not bad either. The food is way below expectations, dry meat, dry mashed potatoes, no flavor at all. The whole menu is overpriced, paid $194 for two people, and let me tell you grossly overpriced. Go for the drinks, not the food. There are places with a lot better food at a lot less expensive. read more

My family and I went for brunch on a Sunday. The view is great and the restaurant makes a full spin in about an hour and so you will have a chance to see the 360 view. BUT, the food is blah. If you are ok spending $40 per person for a continental quality breakfast that is what you will get. The staff is extremely friendly though. read more

The worst brunch I've ever eaten. The eggs were fake. The selection was very limited and there was not a single good dish. The only good part was the view. I see now why they don't post their brunch menu online, because it's disgusting. read more

My husband, sister, and her husband were very excited to try Spinners. We made reservations weeks in advance and there was only a 930pm time slot available. I assumed a place this high in demand would be amazing so we didn't mind the late night reservation. We were greeted by the server and when we asked how are you, her response was "it's been hot working up here all day, I'm tired, and you have 20 minutes to order everything or you will not be served." As we were rushed to order, I asked about bread. I was told that because it's so late at night, they're usually out but she would check. Why would you have 9:30 reservations if you don't want customers there? As the bread never showed up, I asked again, and her response was "I forgot to check." As we were still eating out entrees, we were asked 5 times if we were done and wanted our plates cleared. Finally after having enough of the harassment, we decided it was easier just to say we were done so the plates could be cleared. We asked for a dessert menu, but of course the kitchen was closed. It's sad because the views were beautiful. The food was tasty. Our server was rude. When we were leaving she said have a good night in the most obvious, sarcastic tone possible. If you don't like your job, please don't take it out on people just trying to enjoy a nice meal on their vacation. read more

Just trying to find parking was horrid. They need stop signs and no right turn signs in the under building parking. Several people were driving the complete wrong way. The price of the food does not line up with the quality of the food. The food was subpar. The wicker chairs for the terrace were un-wickering. The tables were wobbly. There was hardly any lighting. And the lights that they did have on the umbrellas started dying not long into the meal. It took over an hour for food to be served. Definitely not somewhere I'll be going again. This is a must if you're visiting St Pete Beach! Excellent fish (we had the red snapper and it was heavenly)! Excellent service! And the 360 degree view of the beach, bay, and cities can't be beat. The restaurant slowly revolves in a circle for a view from every angle. Amazing sunset view. Be sure to make reservations a few weeks ahead if you want to eat here. You won't be sorry. read more

Three Stars just for the view. Ordered a Primavera pasta that had virtually no vegetables and a $16 up charge to add shrimp. They gave me three shrimp. Really!? Service was incredibly slow. read more

Why would the hostess who could not seat us suggest this to us. Will let you know how good is. Did find a table. The food was good. The rooftop view is beautiful, came here with a friend without reservation and they sat us right away but we could only sit at the bar, we stayed about an hour and the restaurant was pretty slow so I wish we got to sit at an actual table, other then that though the food was really good and the service was great. read more

Absolutely love this place. We went our first time mainly for the view, what we found was amazing food. My husband is a meat and potatoes guy but I love to walk a little more on the wilder side_. We love St Pete and have been 3 times in the last year and EVERYTIME we eat at Spinners. Professional, friendly staff. Good food, reasonably priced. We've already booked our New Years Eve reservations, it's our 5th wedding anniversary and this is where we've chosen to spend it! read more

This place has a nice view, but the service and food wasn't all that great unfortunately. It took 20 minutes to even bring bread out to the table. I wouldn't recommend the chicken madeira dish at all. I'm not a picky eater and the second I bit into it I wished I had ordered something else. It had a weird tomato gravy sauce and the chicken was a bit dry. Not worth $42 that's for sure. The two pieces of asparagus and spoonful of mashed potatoes weren't that great either. read more

We were looking for something special and different for our fifteenth anniversary and found Spinners revolving restaurant. We checked the web site and it looked like a great place. We were very excited right up until we exited the elevator to a wall of sound. Small extremely loud and greeted two young hostesses. One was rather rude the other quiet. We arrived on time for our reservation and were told our table was not ready. We asked for directions to the ladies room and were rudely told just walk that way and you will find it. We came back to the hostess stand after finding the ladies room and after a while our table was finally ready. The quiet hostess lead the way. After another wait we met our waitress, she literally has to yell her name and asked if we wanted to order a drink and when we asked for the drink she rudely replied yelling we do NOT have that and do not have any apple to make it! We asked for options for champagne and she said rudely yelling I can get you a Prosecco... We agreed and she stomped off... While we sat trying to hear each other we decided this is not anything like we expected a decided to leave. We stopped by the hostess stand to let them know we were leaving and this is not at all what we expected compared to what we say on the web site and we were leaving when the young rude hostess actually laughed at my wife like we were crazy!! We were mortified! We will never return and discourage anyone from ever going! We did however find a nice quiet restaurant down the street where we were greeted appropriately, treated with respect, immediately taken to a wonderful quiet table with amazing ambiance and had an amazing meal! We only came here to get a few pics of the sunset on Level 11 but the elevator was not working correctly so we had to get off at the restaurant stop then take the steps to level 11, had to maneuver and squeeze around tables to get to the steps weren't sure where we were going, the restaurant was loud and disorganized, looked messy. I stopped in the RR in the lobby, and it was filthy. 1 out of 3 toilets were working and trash was overflowing. read more

My babe said the fried chicken was amazing, seasoned to perfection. We went here for my birthday, Dec 2021 and it was great experience overall. I love crab cake and I always try them. They were very meaty. The menu was limited so I tried the salmon and it was very good with sauce. I'd definitely return. read more

The parking is a little complicated, we parked in a garage in a spot we found last minute. What a lifesaver since I saw cars driving around that couldn't find a spot. Once you get in though, what a neat experience. So you take an elevator up to the top floor and you have a view of the entire Bay Area. The feel is pretty upscale and the crowd is pleasant and social. I was with a large group, we were drinking and dining, so our experience was fantastic. After ordering my food and chatting, I look up and I'm facing a different part of the restaraunt than I was before... it had to sink in that the top of the floor rotates so you can see a full radial view. We timed it, it was around an hour. Here's the cool part. While at my table I suddenly had to use the restroom. That happened to be right as our table was across the restroom. C'mon mannnnn... it doesn't get any better than that! OK, on to the food. My steak was very well cooked and delicious, it was cooked just like I love my filet... it was incredible. The mashed potatoes were awesome as were my seasoned veggies. We went through several bottles of wine, I'm not sure what they were since we were having such a great time, but I would argue every part of my experience here was awesome. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, the food is fantastic. The view is BREATHTAKING. What a concept, a spinning roof and great drinks. No wonder they call it Spinners. LOL read more

Sadly I can only give this place 2 stars. The view is unparalleled. The food is OK. I've had good success with the service as well. It's spendy particularly considering what you get. Note: while there is no dress code, don't go up there in flip flops right off the beach. Also: moron at the bar shouting while drinking and watching sports. You are not at a sports bar. I want to make a special note about the ***parking lot attendant George. What a total rude dumbass. Don't allow the incoming traffic to block people waiting to get out. When you see someone pulling out, move the car you are working with along, and stop the traffic coming up the ramp. That dude is so damn slow, and not friendly all. Mister manger he definitely needs a talking to about efficiency and friendliness. read more

I've been coming here for years. We decided to try brunch. We were not impressed. The service was not the usual attentive way. I waited forty minutes for a second cup of coffee. Dishes sat on the table as a server came by. Also they place your bill in front of you in a vase We were told this indicates we are still eating!! I placed it on the table and was corrected yet still no coffee. Maybe have available an urn where you can serve coffee yourself. The food was just ok. I have had this buffet at a Hotel included with our room. Nothing chef inspired. The view makes up for it all. Next time we will go to the bar below. Sad. read more

Super dated but super views. I would bring out of town guests here to wow them with the beauty of our waters. It's fun to feel like you're also stepping back in time with how old the building is. I believe the hotel used to be a post office or maybe a bank? We had a variety of items and everything was fine. They put a different spin on some basic dishes to make things interesting. So disappointing to have such a beautiful ambiance and then everything else fell through. They brought my husband the wrong cut of steak, my puff pastry just didnt exist and they claimed they would bring it out later...but the full dish had to be remade as the description was shrimp and scallops and I received 4 shrimp and a bunch of potatoes... The server was older and kept telling us she couldn't see or hear and I do not think that is the level of professionalism that should be at a restaurant charging $50 an entrée. Five star view with 3 star everything else. Parking is kinda crappy. This restaurant is located on the top floor of the Grand Plaza Hotel - so you have to be a hotel guest or secure a parking permit from the lot security. Perhaps this is just a weekend thing but either way, it backed cars up and made things a little chaotic. Parking is also very tight if you have to go to the garage below ground, so I recommend leaving the larger vehicles at home if you have the choice. The elevators are extremely slow and a little scary if I do say so myself. You have the option to sit in the center (non moving part of the restaurant) or by the window for a 360 degree view of St Pete Beach. It takes a little over an hour to make it full circle. Try to plan accordingly so you can catch an awesome sunset. Drinks are strong and well worth their $10 price tag. The salad is pretty big and the ranch dressing was tasty - although I should have asked for dressing on the side because my plate was drenched. I loved the dried cranberries but I really missed having some croutons. The bread was fresh and warm just the way I like it. New York Strip and the filet were both just average and the seasonal veggies tonight were a bit of a miss. Large and VERY "al dente" carrots paired with bland broccoli left more to be desired. Mashed potatoes were extremely salty. So I ended up mixing bland veggies with salty potatoes like a child playing with their food. $105 for 2 adults, a little pricey but worth the experience considering there are only 18 revolving restaurants in the country. read more

I have to say I have been here many times and loved it before because of the BEST view in Tampa Bay and because the food was good. However, most recently when I went the food was ok, but prices outrageous ! Not worth it. I can get a better steak for 20 dollars cheaper at Ruth's chris or Berns. Pretty disappointed and won't bring visitors back :-/. maybe just for a cocktail on the more casual terrace downstairs. read more

Considering the pricing of this place, it was a huge disappointment. From undersized appetizers that were fair, but not outstanding to ice cold main courses, I walked away from this place, feeling underwhelmed and like I had been robbed. The one good thing was the tuna tartare. The seafood dish that I ordered came out ice cold, and inedible. I took one bite and sent it back. I did not ask for it to be heated or did I ask for another dish. At $60 for a plate of food, you get one chance. My wifes Seabass, again at $60, was about a 4 ounce piece of fish served over maybe half a cup of rice, with an ice cold creamy type sauce. She ate it, but the taste that I had would've caused me to send it back as well. The lamb shank that the people who were with us for dinner ordered to share, was alsocold. When I asked, the response was "it's not nearly as warm as I would want it to be, but I don't send food back".. Again... $60. The only redeeming qualities of this place were the view and the server. Do yourself a huge favor and spin on by this overpriced and underwhelming Restaurant. The McDonald's down the street would be a better choice. Don't get me started on the hotel... read more

One of 19 rotating restaurants in the US. First rate service and food. Our server, Dennis, was attentive, friendly and professional. Great service! We did the full course, an array of appetizers including scallops, shrimp, smoked fish dip, ahi sashimi and a small charcuterie platter. All perfectly prepared, presented and delicious. Entrees included The Cajun Feast (scallops, shrimp, andouille, and veggies) it was wonderful, Crab Ravioli topped with shrimp and scallops and a cream sauce. Again, delicious. Snapper, perfectly executed, and finally, shrimp scampi, awesome. We finished up with a slice of Snickers pie and their cheesecake. Simply wonderful. I was with a party of four plus an infant. Food was average, but we live on the beach so we don't have high expectations of incredible food on the beach. The trade-off is the beach and views that we get to enjoy every day. However, I have reached out to management of Spinners restaurant on multiple (4x) occasions to correct my restaurant bill. Unbeknownst to me and my waitress Cammi did not tell me, a tip was already included at 20% and hidden underneath the top invoice to sign off . I signed off on the 25% tip because our service was decent & I am a generous tipper. However, when I got home I looked at the underlying detailed bill and saw that my bill already had a tip for 20% so at this point I am roughly tipping 60% of a tab and my bill was $585. (I wasn't drinking btw)...The manager has refused to contact me so I am left with no choice but to leave an embarrassing review for spinners restaurant & management.I don't recommend anyone being taken advantage of in this fashion. read more

This was our wedding anniversary night so I decided to do something different and really nice. I found this place on trip advisor and I called and spoke to the managers and they were really nice in helping me plan my evening. Our server Yvette, was very nice and shared with us the entire menu, asked what we liked to eat and made great recommendations. She even brought drinks to accommodate what we were eating. We started off with the seafood trio as an appetizer. It consisted of scallops, smoked fish dip and shrimp. The scallops were cooked to perfection and drizzled with a type of glaze that put a pop in your mouth. The smoked fish dip was the best of the three. It had so much flavor and the crackers they used made it even tastier. I was a little hesitant about my salad before it came. The house salad consists of mandarin oranges, grape tomatoes, cranberries and an apple vinaigrette on top of a fresh bed of greens. That combination was one the best salads I've ever had. It was light and flavorful at the same time. Our main course was sea bass oscar with asparagus and Cajun gulf snapper with collard greens and jalapeño grits. These were two magnificent dishes that had so much flavor and made you want bite after bite. I would never had thought to combine collard greens and grits with fish but it was outstanding. They brought us a dessert with a gift and made our evening very special. Not to mention that we had gorgeous views of everything while the restaurant slowly gave us a view before and after sun down rotating while we had a memorable evening.
