The food here was generally good, but there were a few dishes that didn't impress me. The Wagyu dumplings were completely average, with a few hard pieces and only 4 dumplings. The tartare and ceviche appetizers were served with only three crackers each. And the truffle fries didn't taste like truffle at all. Also, for the price of the sides, we were only served 4 pieces of asparagus. Portion sizes are not sufficient for large parties. On the positive side, the Wagyu steak was cooked perfectly and served with vegetables. The restaurant also has a huge bar with tables along the walls. I'd go back, but I'll try different dishes next time.

The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. The food is good nothing very memorable for the price point but a cute place for a girls night of taking aesthetic pictures. My drinks were delicious and the reason id come back. The service was great considering i came with a party of people who acted like they had no home training so thank you for being patient with them.

The food was fresh and the wine delicious! We ate outside and loved the ambiance. The waitress was attentive as well as the host. After we ate the owner came and checked to make sure we were satisfied.

Great Food, Amazing Service, and a large space! We were able to celebrate a friends birthday and had a great time. The staff was so accommodating and everyones dishes tasted great. We got a wide variety and was able to eat it family style.

We had a nice meal at The Crane last weekend. My coconut cocktail was tasty but very light on the alcohol. Our wagyu dumplings appetizer was tasty. Our 33oz tomahawk was cooked perfectly and was also very tasty. It came with a curry sauce, which was very good and a chef sauce which was just ok. It was $100 and we were able to split it 3 ways for a light dinner. Service was friendly and we would come back again.

Decided to try The Crane for a late birthday dinner with a friend. The vibe is very cute inside and most tables are booths (love!). We both ordered lychee martinis that were so good! Based on the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect for the food but we loved everything we got! We shared the lobster spring rolls, which were good but I do wish the lobster was finer diced. The lobster was large chunks in the spring rolls and I think it would've been nice to have lobster throughout rather than large pieces. We both had the surf and turf - delicious! Our steaks were cooked perfectly, the lobster and risotto were so good. Flavors were great! Our server was so sweet and helpful telling us specials and things on the menu. I wish I caught her name! She brought a birthday dessert out for us to share and it was a delicious chocolate mousse. I will definitely come back to this place! It seems some of the bad reviews are before this place really got into the groove and absolutely worth going for dinner.

We dined in with a reservation and we're seated immediately. I believe it was around 630pm on Friday or Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. It actually didn't get busy until almost 8pm. Our waitress was very chipper and smiley, very helpful I might add. I liked the menu a lot and I noticed it was a little bit different than what was online which was not an issue for me. I really liked how the menu was set up with hot and cold options. Starter items, raw items, and what piqued my interest, Small bites. That small bites section has seafood and meat that is served at 3 ounces each. That is perfect for someone like me because I prefer seafood, but sometimes I may want just a bite of steak. The other side of the menu has larger plates and sides. All of the options are great. I started with the oysters which were just ok. The tuna ceviche which to me was not what I would describe as cevi he. It was more like a tuna poke arranged like a tartar. It had a lot of textures like raw tuna, mango, avacado, tabiko etc. It was a lot to handle. I liked it, didn't love it just because of the many textures plus, I thought Ibwas ordering ceviche. The small bites...I ordered scallop, lobster, and A5 wagyu. The scallops were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The wagyu was cooked medium well and was great. For the price (I think 29$ or close to that) it was a great deal. My lobster was way overcooked and they brought me a new one that was also cooked perfectly. My husband's full plate which was the ribeye steak I believe was also cooked perfectly. The sautéed spinach was also great. We both enjoyed our meals. Our only complaint is that everything was cold when we got it and we didnt actually wait that long fir our food to arrive. I tried all three 0 proof cocktails and liked them all. The last one on the list was my favorite. The restaurant is very nice and I like that it isn't giving steakhouse vibes. It's giving cool and chic. They have a lot of indoor seating as well as outdoor. No parking lot, only street parking. I would highly recommend the Crane. We had a fantastic time.

Okay, this Ube Colada is everything! We stopped by for a quick drink on our way to dinner, so I cannot comment on the food. However, this Ube Colada was INCREDIBLE! If you like Ube and a tropical flair, you're going to love this drink. The bartenders were so friendly to our large group, even offering prosecco to the birthday girl! Will definitely return!

New ish place in DTSP. Had good buzz about it. Liked how is wax open and bright. Big bar in the center. Great choices on the menu. Started with some cocktails. all made very well. My old fashioned was delicious. To start we grabbed some dumplings. Pretty tasty. Could have had a tab more inside. Sauce was really good. Ordered a ribeye. Cooked perfectly. Mid rare. a little chewy in spots. Cut could have been better but overall really good. Server was great. Good suggestions and was there when we needed something.

My first meal at the Crane was incredible. It was by far one of the best meals out I have had in a long time. The steak was really the star of the show here- we had the steak bites as an appetizer and my husband had the ribeye. Both were better than steaks we have had out that have cost over a hundred dollars. The Chilean Sea Bass was also the best fish dish I've had in a long time. It was so tender and perfectly cooked, and the sweet curry sauce it was topped with made it outstanding. Their house vinaigrette on the house salad was also delicious. I enjoyed the Berry Fizzical cocktail also, which was like a spicy margarita fused with a mule. We were both blown away by the food but also had exceptional service, even on a busy night like Valentine's Day. We'll surely be back.

THE CRAAAAANNEEEE - I love it here so much!! Such a perfect location on Central Ave, the staff is so fab and has the best recs, and I'm OBSESSED with their menu!!! I usually stick to sharing apps because the mains are on the pricey side... but the vibe is top notch - definitely go for outdoor seating!

Great date night dinner at The Crane. Started with wagyu and seafood lover dumplings. Also, Calamari. They all came with different dipping sauces. Entree was Flounder with crab stuffing. Everything tasted delicious. Excellent service from Rachel, very nice and friendly. Atmosphere was upscale but relaxed. They also have drink and food specials for Happy Hour. Highly recommend!

Truly Unforgettable Culinary Journey at Red Thread…read more Our dinner at Red Thread was nothing short of spectacular -- a five-star experience from the moment we stepped through the door until the final sip of our after-dinner drink. We visited to celebrate a milestone birthday, and the team not only met but exceeded every expectation, weaving subtle, thoughtful surprises into the evening that made us feel truly special. The atmosphere is opulent yet completely approachable -- warm, intimate, and alive with cultural richness. You can feel the intention behind every detail: the plush banquettes adorned with intricately embroidered throw pillows, the soft glow of lantern-style lighting, and the perfectly placed gold-tipped cocktail picks that make even the smallest moment feel curated. It's elegant without pretense, like being welcomed into a beautifully kept secret along the Silk Road. Service was led by Katie and Elijah, who were nothing short of exceptional. Their warmth, precision, and deep knowledge of both the menu and the restaurant's rich aesthetic elevated the entire evening. They guided us with confidence, shared stories behind the dishes, and ensured every need was met before we even voiced it. Now, the food -- where do we begin? Red Thread delivers flavors that are bold, layered, and deeply authentic. We started with the spread and small bites platter, and it was immediately clear we were in for something extraordinary. The tabbouleh was bright and herb-forward, with finely chopped parsley, tomato, and bulgur kissed by lemon -- a perfect balance of freshness and zing. The falafel were golden-crisp on the outside, tender within, and served with a bright mint yogurt. So delish! For our mains: the salmon, seasoned with fragrant za'atar and resting atop creamy spanakorizo (spinach and rice), was cooked to buttery perfection. The addition of crumbled feta and a cooling lemon yogurt sauce brought a bright, tangy contrast that elevated every bite. The pork chop, served with tri-color potatoes and glazed in a rich port beurre rouge with rosemary and a whisper of parmesan, was magnificent -- juicy, deeply savory, and beautifully seared. And the beef short rib? Unbelievably tender, with a warm curry base, sweet-spicy melon kimchi, and saffron rice that perfumed the air. The cardamom chèvre melted into the mix, adding a creamy, floral depth that was nothing short of inspired. Every dish told a story -- of distant lands, ancient trade routes, and a chef who clearly treats spice like sacred heirloom. To know these flavors are crafted with spices imported directly from the regions that inspired them explains the unmatched authenticity in every bite. Red Thread stands alone in St. Petersburg -- not just in flavor, but in feeling. We'll be back -- no question -- to explore their brunch and dive deeper into this beautiful narrative they've created on a plate. To everyone reading: This is the kind of restaurant that deserves to be discovered, celebrated, and filled to capacity every single night. Go. Taste. Feel. Red Thread isn't just dinner -- it's a journey. And it's not to be missed.

We finally checked out Red Thread and it was delicious!…read more Great ambiance (both indoors and their outdoor courtyard, can't go wrong with either option) that fits the "silk road" vibe, with awesome food and friendly service. We started with the dip trio (beet hummus, olive tapenade, and babaganoush with fluffy pita triangles), which was fantastic. Each dip had an awesome flavor, especially the beet hummus. We also got the tahini, date, and cashew salad and loved it. My husband isn't a salad guy and said he'd only have a bite, but then he ate half. The rich and spicy tahini mixed with the sweet date, creamy cashew, and fresh/crisp salad was such a great flavor combo. I will note, they go heavy with the tahini on the salad, but we weren't complaining. I got the zataar salmon for my main. A deliciously spiced zataar crust on top of a delicately flaky salmon made for a wonderful meal. My husband got the kafta en croute, which were ground lamb/beef meatballs surrounded by a flaky pastry and topped with pomegranate over a tahini sauce. I kept stealing bites (which was fine, there was plenty to share) it was so good and such a unique entrée! For drinks, they have uniquely spiced cocktails and mocktails. The drinks took longer to arrive than the food, but they were worth the wait. We were too stuffed for dessert, but next time we want to try their tiramisu (made with Turkish coffee and cardamom). We had a wonderful meal and will be back! The sad thing was that half the restaurant was empty. We think it's a unique addition to DTSP and is definitely worth checking out.
