I was on a bad saga of health care providers and thanks to Sound Clinic I am pain-free and can now avoid spinal surgery. Feb 2021: Doing a yoga pose, I ended up in the ER after my back spasmed. June 2021-Sep 2021: More limited function. Got a MRI that showed disc degeneration and was referred to a spinal surgeon and he was zero help. Dec 2021: Injured my back again. I was recommended to try steroid shots before going into surgery. I did four steroid shots and was in extreme sciatic pain radiating down my left leg. April 2022: Had a spinal surgeon on the calendar before I listened to myself and decided to pursue something more sacrum related as the pain was really coming from this area and not where the disc herniation was located. All symptoms pointed towards a sacrum injury meanwhile the spinal doctors disagreed with me and said my sacrum pain was coming from stenosis. On a late night Google search, I found Shawn Naylor's name buried onto another review and set up an appt. They got me in at the end of April and there were no shenanigans. He gave me prolozone at the same appointment and two days later I was walking pain free again. Later, it was diagnosed that my issues had come from a collapsed left arch that led to a crooked sacrum. Imagine this: Couldn't walk for four months more than 5 minutes to walking as long as I'd like now Couldn't go to yoga from Feb 2021-April 2022 and am now going to yoga 1-2 times per week (taking it slow!) Couldn't pick up my two-year old son and can now lift him into the air Couldn't pick up heavy loads of groceries and have no limitations now. I believe Sound Clinic is progressive, listens to the patient and above all else, is willing to help in any way they can. Dr. Naylor also provided a kidney detox supplement that has helped me detox from NSAIDs that I was on for months, as well. I also think the reviews that critique the staff are unwarranted. It was the quickest staff and doctors and most on time office I've yet to visit.

It's really a shame, as they ruin the client experience. I feel like just a number here, like they're trying to get me through as quickly as possible. In several cases NPs had to look things up on the internet while I was there, and in one case the NP didn't even know protocol for the basic blood panel I requested. I also can't say there's anything particularly "integrative" about this clinic aside from the fact that they sell supplements. There is a DO on staff, but that office seems pretty separate from the rest of the operation. I'm thankful to be moving and not working with these guys anymore. Sorry to leave a bad review, I never do this, but my experiences have been so horrible I felt compelled to.

I have been a patient of Dr Ola's for about a year. Before we worked together, I had been sick for…read moreabout six years, and had seen almost every specialist at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. None of the Mayo doctors really had any answers to explain the root cause of my symptoms. I had been SO healthy my entire life until 2017 when I developed significant pulmonary issues - multiple pneumonias and lung scarring. As things progressed, I began having debilitating headaches and flares that included extreme vomiting and diahrrea (and trips to urgent care for IV fluids and Zofran). On really bad days (a couple of times per week), my pain was so severe I would spend hours sitting in the shower as it was the only thing that brought any relief. Hives would come and go, I had weird brusing, and I had lost half my hair. My body didn't seem to be absorbing nutrition, I was anemic and started ferritin infusions. Labs showed elevated white blood cell counts that required monthly biologic shots. My body was broken. I was hesitant to make plans with friends or family, and could not be the kind of mother I wanted to be. I had to budget my energy - the fatigue was crushing at times. I had tried everything. Paleo/organic very clean and limited diet, professional remediation in our home after a leak, ripped bathrooms to studs just to be safe, replaced AC systems (inside and out), UV light added to AC system, filtered shower and drinking water, threw out all chemicals/ cosmetics/ fragrances. Some things helped a little but my body was still not healing. Dr. Ola was my last resort. She listened to my long story and we began with running tests, labwork, and GI mapping. She was able to pretty quickly determine that I had two HLA mutations that prevented me from detoxing. I also had parasites. We started first with parasite treatment. Parasite treatement is pretty miserable, but you just have to get through it. Dr. Ola helped alot through this process, adding things to help my body through the parasite die-off, and slowing down when my body just needed to rest. This took 6-7 months, but my case was pretty severe and likely the cause of the elevated white blood cell counts. I am now working through detoxing (with a binder) some of the things my body is unable to clear naturally because of genetic mutations. We will retest in a couple of months and she will continue to adjust medications and supplements. I am a different person now and continue to improve. My hair has come back. I have not had a flare episode (vomiting, headache, pain) in 6 months or more. I recently took a weekend trip that included one very late night, and was able to come home and be normal, with no pain, no fatigue, and no crash. This may not sound like a big deal to most people but one year ago this would literally not have been a possibility. My lung function has also improved. I am reminded that it is a privelege to be able to care for my family again and be able to just run errands and meet friends for dinner, like a normal person. The only thing I would say I truly benefitted from was the micronutrient testing, which I could've gotten at any regular doctor. It is written by a quack called Dr. Gundry, who went on air and said that SMOKING CIGARETTES is good for you and prolongs your life. She also pushed her political beliefs on me and went on a roll about how she believes in RFK Jr's vaccine policies and how he would be great for president because of that. RFK Jr is antivax and thinks vaccines cause autism; he's a quack and a fraud. It just makes me not trust anything else she says when she promotes these hack "science" beliefs. I want to cry thinking about how much money I wasted, several thousand as she doesn't take insurance. It's so frustrating.

I have stayed with him for all these years because he has a vast breadth of knowledge, he talks to me and not at me, he focuses as much on keeping me healthy as he does in dealing with any health issue I might have and I really like his holistic philosophy of health. His explanations are clear and he answers questions directly. He mines me for information and then works to connect the dots. And he channels his ideas and recommendations within the value boundaries of his patients without compromising his medical analyses or his solutions. Beyond medicine, he also advises on lifestyle changes that a patient can make to enhance their health. As a result, I have improved on a variety of personal health metrics ranging from my Ac1 score to my inflammation levels to even my heart parameters. He also instills confidence that one has the power to impact their health in positive ways. I especially like that he has a nutritionist professional on his staff. I've learned more about the relationship between food and health than I ever thought I would and to my significant benefit. After asking for an updated for the second time, they said it'd be at least another 30 minutes. Even though the office was "closing" already. Ended up just leaving. I unfortunately didn't have time to wait 1.5 hours at 5 pm at night. Multiple other people sitting in the waiting room for 30-45 minutes +. One lady walked out from the back to ask if a doctor was ever going to come into the exam room to see her because she had been sitting there for so long. Clearly no time management or respect for patients time. Quite the bummer after waiting a month for the appointment, leaving work early, and sitting in the waiting room for so long.

Dr Hsu is a Excellent physician with an unbelievable skill set. I was seen at a different pain…read moremanagement practice and all they wanted to do were Epidural Steroid Injections, they were not helping. I asked my surgeon for a referral and he sent me the Dr Hsu. He reviewed my MRI and said I needed Ablation in my lumbar spine at 3 levels. I agreed to the procedure. His technique is flawless it hardly hurt. The procedure took less than an hour I was impressed. The pain changed from extreme pain to about half the intensity for about a month. Then slowly the pain went away and my range of motion came back as well and the pain level is just a minor annoyance. I can do PT to restore additional range of motion and solve my muscle atrophy from not being able to bend efficiently for years. Dr Hsu also stated that the ESI's would not work and I needed the Lumbar RFA, which worked at unbelievable levels. The staff are also great, they care and keep you updated. Overall I am extremely pleased.
