They have a large range of costumes and dance wear. I have been coming to this business over about 8 years off and on. Normally I leave with something. This year I could not get my costume together like I wanted to. The employees are great. The parking is a little tight but most of the time you will get a spot. Great selection of costumes, props, accessories, and shoes. But only standard sizes. Or maybe I'm too tall for my own good - everything was extremely short. Finally found one clerk, he seemed to be starring into space. I decided to cross in front of his face a few times coming from randon directions. Most people at one point will ask "May I help you find something" - Not him! And what's up with the dance gear? Pretty good store but the lack of service is really a determinent.

So after being ignored for another 15 seconds with no eye at all, I asked in a polite voice - Is this where I order balloons? she said yes but her energy was like I was bothering her. I asked for a foil number balloon and she asked what color in a monotone way. I asked what are the options? She just rattled off and speed thru a long list again with a groan to her voice like it was annoying her to help me. So I said blue. She said weren't out. So I asked can she show my choices. Again another audible sigh and she walked me to an isle with the balloons. I felt so gross being there I wanted to leave! But this was the only time I had to sneak away and get alert supplies. Next time I will plan better and go somewhere else. MARY should not interacting with customers. She was awful!!

I have a cement gargoyle that guards my stairs, my impromptu weapon if I ever have an intruder. Back to Spirit~ They have almost any costume item you can dream up. I admit I was shocked that this tore seemed much smaller than previous stores. It left me wondering if they scaled down on purpose or if they had trouble getting inventory. Normally the décor items are plentiful- this time it seemed light. The staff was very friendly- came out to ask if we needed help finding anything. Another shock was that the registers were located at the back of the store. Seemed like an odd thing to do. But~ whatever. Be sure to enjoy all the life size animatronic scares at the front! This store is like a theme park and a store all in one. Come to think of it, I can think of a *certain nearby theme park* whose own pirate gift shop isn't as cool as this one. If you've only got a few hours in St. Augustine, visit this one. I probably spent a half hour in here and bought a few things. I meant to return the next morning but a change in our flight meant leaving at 3am. I am definitely coming back to this place. Even if pirates aren't your thing, or you don't think you'll buy anything, you have to come here and just see it. More work went into this place than 99% of the other businesses in the area. I really regret I didn't grab a few more things I was on the fence about. A future trip, perhaps.

I like that they have a whole section of costumes even during the regular months. Yesterday they had 75% off their Easter and I got some really cute Easter ears. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. It's located in a shopping plaza with a bunch of other great stores. So you could spend a good 4-hour shopping at this plaza. I had an online pick-up and proceeded to one of the open lanes since the online pickup sign doesn't…read moreclearly point to a specific register. I had two different orders and had issues pulling up the pick-up barcode for my second order so the cashier asked for my last name. He made a brief tempted to ask someone to look for the order but gave up after a minute or so and moved on to ring up the lady behind me. I was standing there just waiting to be helped so I asked the other guy that was at the online order section. He too made a half ass attempt but moved onto something else. At that point, I started looking for my orders myself. I located one of the two orders, but had difficulty finding the second one. A third employee came towards me and asked if I needed help. She was finally able to locate my second order. Got home, and found out that the mask I ordered was broken. I went to a different Party City and they didn't have the exact mask so we had to go with something else. At that location, we were told only an exchange was allowed so we ended up paying nearly $10 more for the other mask. Overall this was poor and frustrating experience that resulted in us paying more at a different location. Update: I found out that Halloween returns must be returned at least seven days before Halloween. I looked up the policy since the cashier at the other location didn't specify.

I didn't waste any time and headed to the front counter to inquire about my pickup order. I was worried I'd be frightened again by a skeleton or clown or something scary. The two guys at the counter were helpful. Grabbed my to-go order and were on our way. The costume fit and looks great!
