I had no idea this store even existed until now lol, but wow it's absolutely huge. They have books, Funkos, CDs, records, collectibles, kids toys, blind bags, and pretty much every 80's baby dream item you could think of. My daughter and I loved the variety and could honestly spend forever looking around. I also think it's really neat that they buy your items and resell gently used treasures, so you never know what you're going to find. It's such a fun place to shop if you're looking for a unique or special gift. There's plenty of parking, the staff always says hi when I walk in, and the whole vibe is welcoming and nostalgic. We found this store in NC and loved it. I love books and my boyfriend loves collectible toys, so its perfect for us. We stopped in Gainsville on the way back to Clermont because of one of my favorite restaurants there and didn't know there was a 2nd & Charles 5 mins away. So we stopped by to check it out however the sevice wasn't good. My boyfriend wanted to see something and no one offered to help him so we left because 2 employees rather stand around talking to each other rather than help the customer. Needless to say we left and didn't get anything this trip. read more

me and my friend were really suprised when we went inside because it was soooo big!! they have a really wide selection of movies, books, games, and music and it's fun to walk around and look at everything!! some of the pricing is a bit confusing, some items have stickers with prices and some don't so it's a little weird! they also do have pricing for some items that's more than you would pay for it somewhere else so just watch out for that!!! they do have good deals on some of the items like the 4 for $10 deal, so there was def pros and cons! cool store overall to visit tho! read more

This was my first time coming to a 2nd & Charles and I was so excited, as my husband has talked so highly of this place and I just recently started reading more. He went to the front to ask about a book we wanted to check out by Candace Owen's. He was then laughed at, humiliated and faced with condescending comments about my husband followed by their personal opinions and ideologies. It was a man with red hair and dark/ black hair. It is disgusting that anyone should be put down for a book they asked about. That is NOT what reading is about or for. We could have been kindly directed to the correct section, but instead we were faced by discrimination and embarrassment. Do better. Thank goodness for Barnes and Noble. read more

I came to 2nd & Charles for the Penny-A-Page sale. "Bookstore" is a loose word for 2nd & Charles as they also have music (vinyl, CDs, musical instruments), games (board, card, video), toys, posters, and apparel. I just wish their actual bookshelves were broken down into more genres than just fiction and non-fiction. It makes it very difficult to look for books by author or sub-genres. I was able to find one used book and with the sale going on I got it for a great price. I describe this store as, all of the things I want and non of the things I need. Walking through here is magical. Everywhere I look there is something that geeky nerdy Cheyenne has to have. It is dangerous! They have a section for video games, a section for music - cd and vinyl, a large section for books, a section for kids, and many sections of items and toys. The cool thing is that they have a mix of new and used items, and what even cooler, is that you can sell back your items! I brought a bunch of books and they bought them for a decent price. They have just about everything there! So take your time to explore, but set a budget before you walk in - if you are anything like me, you will want to buy it all! I stumbled upon this bookstore when shopping in the plaza. I am so glad I did. I am a huge fan of used books because I love the character they bring- also, cheaper prices never hurt. I was only in for 45 minutes but picked up 7 new books. The staff was kind and the store was very clean. My only note is that I wish books were slightly more organized. However, because the store is so large I can understand why some items may get misplaced. do yourself a favor and come here! read more

This place is neat, very much a novelty. Their book selection probably has some hidden gems if you look hard enough, but if you've ever been to a goodwill it's basically their book section. A major highlight is if you're looking for any sparknotes or cliffnotes; if you're in high school or college and need them, get them here for cheap rather than new. Or just go to a library, because 30 days is about how long you'll need it for anyway. Their fiction and graphic novel area was pretty expansive looking but not exactly what I was there for. They also have an area where they sell records and CD's, as well as TV series and video games. The highlight of coming here was seeing retro boy SNES handheld systems actually. There's also a guitar and drum section which is neat but not particularly expansive. There's a ton of novelty stuff, but everything just feels old. The only thing it's lacking is that mothball smell of a salvation army really. It was neat to visit once, but I don't see a reason to come back in future. read more

Books that are hard to find, or ones that are dated but still awesome like Tom Sawyer, Shakespeare, National Geographic, autographed editions by the author, and the top selling books of today plus all kinds of unique games and toys. massively overpriced items that can found in online marketplaces for cheaper. condescending employees everywhere but only one register ever open. they have $40+ records taped shut(not sealed as in new, used) that you can't inspect unless you take them to from your be opened for you. No record shop does this. the business model is to overprice popular items by huge margin and the less popular stuff is fairly priced. this company is going to be stuck with a huge inventory of records when the vinyl resurge collapses and it deserves it. not recommended whatsoever. read more

Wow! This store has such a huge selection. I was visiting my brother and wanted to find a used bookstore I hadn't been to. So thankful I found this gem. If you are looking for books they most definitely have a great selection. They also have comic books, used video games, and a large selection of vinyls. They also have some great bookish items. It's content and genre of sales is the combination of F.Y.E. ,Barnes and Noble and GameStop all under one roof. 2&C Like FYE carries all sorts of gene in music and films. 2&C like Barnes and Noble vend all sorts of literature books and novelties ranging from comics to Mormon bibles. And last but not least they sell and trade games and consoles both old and new. And an add plus replacement items for those classic consoles. In the center of the store, resides two large flat screen TVs for game testing. This is truly a wonderland for the classic and current gamer. read more

Horrible customer service. I went to purchase a game and the customer service agent/cashier refused to sell me the game for the price marked. He said the game was priced wrong and that he could not sell it to me. I told him that by law he has to sell it to me for the price that is marked unless the item is recalled. He still refused. Will not be coming back. I contacted their corporate office and told them what happened. Why bother being open if you refused to sell customers anything. read more

For used books, this place is HIGH! Lots of books, but low on quality.

Well, I can say this store is big and has a lot of inventory. Many items are used and priced accordingly. There were many new gift items, and a huge kids section. No magazines. I was looking for kiplingers. The CD section was poorly organized. It just seemed that things were randomly thrown here and there. This place needs crew to spend some time organizing. The checkout line moved veeery slowly. My feet started to ache while waiting. Maybe focus more on quick accurate check out and less on selling magazines. Love this bookstore! It's a shame bookstores are losing out to online retailers. I get it, it's cheaper to buy with Amazon Prime, but I love walking through a bookstore and discovering new books I normally wouldn't read. This place doesn't pay much when buying books back, but I like knowing they're going to a good home. The prices are reasonable, and the people are super friendly. The store has a lot of offer with a vast selection of items, my roommate and I go there because it is relatively close to our apartment and we both have a love for games, sadly the staff there is quite rude. I've had numerous experiences there that weren't the nicest but I brought a case for a game to the counter to purchase, only to find that they had already sold the game but left the case out in the open as if it was still available to purchase. This is whatever, I've worked in customer service and I understand this happens but the guy at register who took me acted as if I was inconveniencing him and just was a bother all around. He was extremely rude and didn't even apologize for the mishap. I also wanted to check and see if they had a record in stock because I didn't see it back there but wanted to make sure and he again copped an attitude with me for simply asking if he could look it up. read more

There's even a children's section & a large buy back area (which I have yet to utilize). There are used books & new books, w/ just about every genre of literature represented. There are always clearance items. And there are creative novelties for gift-giving as well as tee shirts, & music & gaming posters. No coffee shop & no place to hang out other than the small gaming area, but customer sevice has always been excellent. Parking is plentiful & prices are reasonable. I've been meaning to check this place out more or less since it opened, and today I finally had both the time and the funds to fully appreciate it. Upon approaching the store, right outside of the entrance is a few bins with books that anyone can take for free, which I found a couple of hidden gems in--nothing that was a massive steal, but definitely books that were in good condition and could find some use in a classroom or as gifts. The layout inside is largely similar to its Books-A-Million predecessor, with some unique additions of massive sections of items from video games, comics, instruments, POP figures, a small but decent supply of Japanese candy, and t-shirts, and of course, the main attraction of the books being scattered all about. The massive comics collection the store has accumulated is still currently being organized, but the trade paperback section is vast and plentiful with variety, laid sensibly right across from the Japanese manga. I had several employees ask if I needed any help while I gazed about each section in absolute wonder and felt as though they were extremely knowledgeable about their subject matter, with a few of the comic guys able to determine where the comic series I was looking for would be located in the massive, unorganized sea of back-issues based on dropping the title alone. Of course, it is worth noting that not everything they sell is used, so don't expect to get a massive steal on new releases, but their prices are fairly average when it comes to new content, and the prices on used content is very good to fill out a class library or obtain a second copy of a favorite book to lend out to friends and family. All in all, I can see myself returning to 2nd and Charles on many a payday to blow my paycheck on a huge variety of things. Do note that they currently do not offer shopping bags, but you can purchase a reusable one for $2-$4; if you wish to avoid that, bring your own, or shop lighter than I did! read more
