I remember texting my friend Vlad because I was so excited to use the sauna at the Strongsville Rec. Center. He said that I probably would find Russian men in the sauna which I did, 2 of them (apparently Russians love saunas which is cool...haha). I am writing this review a year later, in Feb. 2025. A day pass cost me about $10, if I can remember correctly. I like that this option exists because I don't have to join as a member to use the gym and sauna. GYM/POOL/SAUNA -- At the upstairs gym, I used the stair master and walking track. I also noticed that they have a weights room downstairs but I didn't use it because I didn't have a lot of time. I then used the sauna and steam room downstairs. I stayed in the sauna for about 10 mins and I stayed in the steam room for about 5 mins. The sauna is very small but manageable. There were 3 men in there when I entered. I appreciate that there is a camera inside incase of any emergencies. The steam room is a bit bigger which felt nice. It feels good to be spaced out between people. TIPS -- I recommend bringing a towel to sit on while you're in the Sauna and Steam room. Bring a water bottle too. Also, bring a padlock and key to lock your bag and clothes in the changing room (locker room). I didn't bring a lock because I didn't realize that I would need one so I carried my wallet with me while I used the gym and sauna. Now that it is winter as I'm writing this review, I want to return to the sauna and steam room. The whole gym and pool/sauna area gets very crowded so I recommend that you arrive early. TENNIS -- Courts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis so it is recommend that you arrive early. The west court is designed for playing tennis and the east court is for volleyball or badminton. I would say that the courts are in good condition so I had fun playing tennis here. PARK -- The park is fairly large with benches around it. There is a baseball (or softball) field at the park. It is managed by the City of Lakewood and LEAF (Lakewood Earth and Food community). I will definitely come back to play tennis here this summer. LOCATION -- This is located directly across the street from the Bay Village library branch of Cuyahoga County Public libraries. From the map, it didn't look as if these courts were connected to Cahoon Memorial Park but once I arrived, I did see a park right nearby which includes a playground. TENNIS COURTS/TENNIS HITTING WALL -- There are four tennis courts here on a hard surface. They appear to be well maintained. I enjoyed playing tennis here with my friends. There is also a tennis wall on the back of one of the courts so if you have no one to play with, you can always hit with the wall. There are benches right outside the courts with dust bins (trash cans) too. I recommend visiting these tennis courts because they are well maintained. In addition, if you live on the west side of Cleveland, then take the scenic route to these courts. I drove down Lake Avenue for a majority of my drive and passing the beautiful homes along the lake while seeing the lake as I drove was amazing. The lake views are never a dull sight.
