First off I got engaged and started wedding planning in 2019 for our wedding that was originally for October 2020. Because of the pandemic and us moving off island we had to do a lot of changes. I was originally going to book with a different bartending company, however as I was going to put a deposit on the other company that company told me that my wedding date was already taken. So I was stressing out about finding a new company, thankfully my wedding planner Jez from Jez Events recommended Spirits of Aloha. Felicia is soooo wonderful! Very approachable, accommodating, responsive and compassionate about her business! We did our alcohol tasting and it was WONDERFUL! But because of COVID and all the Hawaii restrictions/mandate, we had to do a venue change and I couldn't use Felicia's services for our wedding because I had to use the new venue's bar service. But I'm sure if we were able to have her and her team at our wedding, it would've been lit and I would've been drunk from all her delicious drinks! LOL! One word for this team: AMAZINGGGGGG!!! We had a medium-sized wedding with around 100 guests at the reception venue, and Felicia along with 2 other teammates (I think James and Danesha) acted very professional and served amazing cocktails. The team also did a great job having fun with the guests and made everyone feel very comfortable and welcome ~ needless to say, it was one of the best weddings and this team made a great contribution to the success of the wedding. The cocktail menu provided was 3 specialty cocktails that were great and they also had a great amount of other alcohols like red, white, sparkling wine, to provide all the guests everything they needed. They also had served some non-alcoholic beverages which was awesome for those having to drive or didn't drink alcohol! Some friends also asked for some basic requests that were off menu, and the team happily fulfilled all the requests! Solid drink menu, plus friendly service, are def winners for me. We hired her team to bartend our wedding in November and she was able to answer our many questions about "the drink situation", which really helped alleviate the stresses of wedding planning. Their pricing was good, they provided help with what and how much alcohol to buy, and all of the bar setup , linens, lighting, cups, etc. we're included in the price without any hidden fees. My friend found Spirits of Aloha using a Google search (instead of weddingwire or theknot), and boy were we lucky to get them! Felicia was extremely responsive and easy to work with. We had a wedding planner who had never worked with them so she asked about 10 other planners if they had ever heard of this company. None of them had heard or knew anything about Spirits of Aloha so I was hesitant to book them but Spirits of Aloha's emphasis on fresh ingredients, prices, and responsiveness really swayed us. We obtained quotes from many other services and were really impressed with Spirits of Aloha's service leading up to the event. We were able to ask them what kind of drinks they could make with the alcohol we were planning on purchasing and worked together to make a drink menu that would impress our guests. During the wedding they were professional and everyone loved their drinks. They also made a pretty sign and had a beautiful bar set up. As another testament to their great service, our planner who was wary of trying a new vendor too was really happy with their services and has used them multiple times since for other weddings. I hired this awesome team for a "day after the wedding -Sunday Fun Day" at the beach. I wanted to make sure that this day was perfect as it was two of my BBFs and their families and friends from Australia, Montana, Oregon and Hawaii. Working with them to plan was easy and they were very accommodating and made great suggestions while also adding all my preferences. They arrived early on the event date and set up their tables with a nice display, signage and smiles. Despite most guests coming off a chartered bus and a large group headed straight to the bar, they quickly got everyone their drink with such great service that no one would have even sensed a "hurried" service. This was basically a "beach party" on private property and obviously I didn't NEED to hire a bartending service. I could have easily just went out and bought a bunch of stuff and put it in a cooler for everyone to help themselves but 1) I work a lot and didn't have time to run around and do all this myself; 2) i wanted to make sure this event was a perfect and special experience for everyone so wanted a professional service vs. just a help-yourself or a friend helping to serve; 3) I wasn't able to deal with transporting extra tables, tents, beverages, etc on the date of the event nor the tear down after; and 4) the nice presentation and friendly bartenders was the elevated touch I wanted for this day. My guests were very happy with their service and personable conversations and that made me 200% happy with my decision to hire them! We unfortunately had to cancel our destination wedding due to Covid, two months prior to our event date. We had paid this vendor a 50% deposit as per the contract. Our biggest issue with this company is their contract policy wording. BE CAUTIOUS. This service says no refunds offered for any acts of God, such as an epidemic. After MULTIPLE email exchanges.. us explaining the difference of Pandemic vs Epidemic (null and voiding our contract), virus trajectory etc, they agreed to refund some of our Non-refundable deposit (approximately 18%). We highly suggest changing the contract wording BEFORE using this service. We were going to supply our own alcohol for our event. This 50% deposit ($750 USD) merely covered 2 bartenders for 5 hours and drink garnishes. This 50% non refundable deposit is VERY unrealistic, overpriced and quite frankly TOO risky, especially given the recent unprecedented times. Would not recommend read more
