I apologize that I am super late on this review! Three months before our wedding (June 2021), I reached out to Tropical Moon Events, and the staffs there were amazing! Dania (Head Coordinator) and Jenna (my Wedding Coordinator) we're very attentive to my needs and wants in such a short amount of time, especially during COVID! Dania would reach out to me every month, and she would let me know the updates and regulations in Hawaii. Plans kept changing whether we needed to postpone our wedding date or elope. Luckily, around April-May 2021, rules were slowly being lifted and we ended up keeping our original wedding date! They really helped us out a lot, even on the small details! They're so fun and laid back and that's what I really love about them. My husband and I really enjoyed our wedding and we appreciate Dania's and Jenna's help! My husband and I hired Tropical Moon Events for the Day Of Coordination and Star Bar services. They took care of us and we have no regrets hiring them. Prior to the start of our services package Dania & Darcie were responsive to our emails in a timely manner (2-3 days max wait time). They always gave us options to think about and pertinent information relating to our venue (Paliku Gardens in Kualoa Ranch). As the wedding day got closer, knowing that we had someone taking care of everything on our big day felt like a weight taken off of our shoulders. HIRE THEM! They have a whole team of professionals who know what they are doing. Review - DAY OF COORDINATION They say rain is a blessing, but Brenda from Tropical Moon Events was a blessing for our wedding day. We had an AMAZING stress free day with a lot of stressful situations going on in the background that we didn't have to worry about. Our big day, 01/28/2023, was set to be outdoors in Paliku Gardens and there was an 80% chance of thunder and lighting. Brenda went to work and organized a rainy day game plan for all of the activities and vendors who would need a covered area. She kept us informed of the possible changes, but she made sure to give us our options with things to think about so we could make a sound decision. One of the biggest decisions we made for the ceremony was whether we would have the ceremony at the water tower or under the Pavillion for cover from the rain. She assured us that no matter what choice we made, she would make it work. We chanced it at the water tower and it was beautiful! There were also A LOT of other small things to worry about that Brenda had solutions for to make things work. I think that was the theme... making things work. LOL. We forgot our card box, our menus were flying off tables from the wind, we were missing a couple table numbers, etc. Brenda had a solution for everything! She even sewed on a button for the groom and helped me with my dress bustle that kept falling off. As soon as Brenda took over for Day of Coordination, she went to work. She coordinated the timeline for all of our vendors and finalized all the necessary details. She made sure to make things happen that we wanted for our wedding day. She is such a knowledgeable professional that she even found ways for us to save money (at least 1-2k). She was a person that we could trust to lean on with necessary choices and she always did it with positivity that everything will be great. A lot of our guests told us that we had the best wedding that they have ever attended. Aside from our pre-planning, I strongly believe that the day ran smoothly because Brenda and Hailey (the assistant coordinator for the day) put in a lot of work to make sure that we had a beautiful and memorable wedding day. Review - STAR BAR Sabrina was our Lead Bartender and she was AWESOME! We did our tasting with her and had such a great taste time we requested her for our wedding. If you're hesitant on the tasting, I'd say go for it! Aside from sampling the drinks, we also got an idea of how the bar will be run on the day of the wedding. She was a great fit for us. She was very knowledgeable about about our drink choices and even suggested drinks that we didn't think of based on our likes during the tasting. Just don't... I was a bridesmaid at one of the weddings Dania planned, and while I do not think that Dania or her team are bad people I would strongly discourage anyone from hiring them. They did not contribute to the wedding in any significant or expected way and had "weird vibes". I am shocked that this was this planner was recommended by the venue. More details below... My friend (the bride) is a natural planner and did most of the work herself. My friend loves to plan and has a super supportive family that was helping with everything (shower, flowers, etc.), so this should have been an easy gig for a wedding planner. I know I am just an internet stranger but please believe me when I say that if there was some kind of award for "Most Chill Bride", my friend should have received it. Dania promised her that she could do most of the planning but that Dania would swoop in 2 months prior to the wedding date and take over. Dania assured her that she had lots of recommendations and could pull things together last minute if needed. My friend is not a picky person, but Dania's recommendations were so bad that she did not end up using ANY of them, and had to find everything herself. Which I am thankful for because the makeup test from Dania's recommendation was so bad that we all agreed it made my friend look 20 years older. Dania was so unreliable that my friend was going to let her go and find someone else. Unfortunately my friend has a soft heart and Daina was able to convince her that this was just a small rough patch and that she would "step it up"... Fast forward to the actual wedding rehearsal where I finally meet Dania. Her whole vibe was really off. I could tell that she was trying her best to look happy and do her job, but we all got the strong feeling that she didn't want to be there. It was a really weird vibe and her interactions with the family were awkward. Thankfully we had a great officiant who would insert himself during these moments to smooth things over. Even during the actual day of the wedding I just heard a lot of "oh I meant to call you about that..." Well, it's too late now. Even though her assistant was nice, they didn't feel organized or experienced as a team. Overall the wedding was great, but I could not tell you how Tropical Moon contributed to make the event a success. If anything, they were the black spot on an otherwise perfect wedding thanks to the amazing bride and family members. Seeing all of the other great reviews on this page, I would like to give Tropical Moon the benefit of the doubt-- no one is perfect and we all have bad days/seasons. However, as an event planner you need to realistically gauge your capacity. If you can't do it, it's fine, but please refer your client to someone else or just let them go. read more

This review is for their day-of coordination and Star Bar services. It's been a year since our wedding and I forgot to write this review, but Tropical Moon Events was such a great help for us when we had multiple vendor issues at the last minute. Dania and Jenna (not sure if she is still with the company) did such a great job and are were such lifesavers, and Tristan and Sasha were such a huge help as well. Our officiant canceled the night before, and Jenna was able to find not only a replacement, but someone who did such a good job that no one had any idea that they were a backup choice and they all raved about how well he did. We had a horrible rental company that showed up late and didn't set everything we paid for up, did a terrible job at that, and Dania, Jenna, Tristan, and Sasha found so many last-minute solutions that most of our guests had no idea anything was going wrong. Our rental company even hit the waterline when setting up the tent, so we had no bathrooms to use at our venue. Sasha ended up being our bathroom shuttle driver, which was such a blessing. Basically they all stepped up and tried to make everything work so that we didn't have to deal with any of these issues ourselves. Also, everyone loved the drinks, especially the special cocktails they offered. I had also talked with Dania early on and she gave me really good recommendations for vendors, which I was so grateful for. They even had decorations they let me borrow and alcohol that they let me have when I couldn't find it myself. They were so accommodating with our pandemic rescheduling (twice!). Dania, Kristen, and the rest of the Tropical Moon Events team were so wonderful throughout our whole wedding planning process. They were so patient with us when we would ask 20 questions per email! Haha. They provided us with a plethora of options for signature drinks, infused waters, and a la cart services. They also provided us with an alcohol shopping list once we gave them the final head count. We bought all of our alcohol at Costco and we were able to deliver it to TME directly! When we got all the extra alcohol back, barely any of the beer was touched and we barely had whatever of what was needed for our signature cocktails. Oh, and the infused waters were also a hit! My daughter hired Tropical Moon Events professional waitstaff for her wedding reception. They were amazingly awesome! The point person came early to assess and listened to the plan. They took care of Tanioka's catering, setting up, carving the prime rib, serving the chicken, fish, mashed potatoes and veggies. They even brought out the cake, cupcakes and cake shots on the platter displays, condensed the desserts, cleaned the heavy ceramic platters. We received so many compliments regarding Tropical Moon's services! I hired them for my Wedding that was located at Ke'ehi Lagoon Memorial Hall. We wanted the guests to still feel like they were attending an elegant hotel wedding, without actually being in a hotel, and Tropical Moon made that possible. Throughout the planning part of the wedding, Dania was accommodating, and often followed up with me, making sure they provided me with what I needed, and provided me with a very reasonable rate. On the day of the wedding, the staff was responsible for replenishing food and drink during cocktail hour, served dinner, continued to service tables (i.e. take away finished plates, refill waters/tea, etc.), set-up and replenished my donut bar (which also included coffee and hot water), as well as cleanup at the end of the night. We selected Tropical Moon's Bartending services as well as their day of coordination services. Start with the Bartenders. They were professional and friendly and the drinks were a huge hit. We also brought in mini kegs from a local brewery and they had no problem tapping and serving. They gave us the alcohol shopping list weeks in advance and we just picked up what we needed from Costco. Their range was pretty accurate, we ended up with a bit left over, but costco being costco, we were able to return the excess no problem. As for the coordination, Dania Mossman was ON IT. We touched base a couple weeks out after giving her the requested list of vendors and support and she asked us a bunch of questions we didn't even consider, she is so detail oriented, the day itself went buttery smooth. Dania and her team at TME came well-recommended, so I was very surprised by the lack of professionalism and attention to detail that I experienced throughout my wedding planning process and on the actual day of my wedding (12/29/19 at Waimea Valley). I hired TME for their "Stellar Coordination" package (2 months out + day of coordination) and honestly felt that working with them actually made the planning process more difficult and stressful for me. From not responding for over a week to my questions (wedding planning is hard enough from afar without having to track your wedding planner down repeatedly), to making multiple mistakes in vendor communication (wrong head counts/missing details), and with lackluster responses to my questions about things (the team actually asked me for MY advice on dress steaming after I took it upon myself to do the research I had asked them to help me with) - combined with a constant stream of excuses ranging from sick kids to bad traffic - I was left pretty disappointed by their subpar communication and planning assistance. Trying to remain optimistic (and because I'd already paid for their services) I figured where the TME team could really help out was on the day of, making sure everything ran smoothly, but I was again let down. The team was distant and aloof on our wedding day, making it awkward/difficult to communicate with them during the day. And despite being asked the day before to come up with a plan, there was no action from the team to help correct the big issue of a muddy ceremony space, and one of my bridesmaids actually had to step in to figure something out. Even though they knew our guest count 10 months prior to the event, over half of our wedding guests did not have seats for our wedding ceremony. One of the lighting elements we had paid for was not set up and TME did not notice despite it being clearly communicated/on the invoice, so our reception was not as we had imagined. We had asked for help in making sure all our invoices were paid in full prior to the wedding and on the day of, found out we had a near $3000 payment left unfulfilled. And I could go on and on! I am a very organized person, and in thinking about my wedding, I had initially thought I might plan it entirely on my own, but really thought hiring a professional team would take some of the pressure off me, and provide extra advice/help thinking of the little details that come with industry experience. And honestly, I think I would likely have been better off without TME. We did have a wonderful wedding, but it was more so DESPITE the TME team than because of them! Dania and her team were apologetic when I expressed my concerns/disappointment at the services they provided, and admitted that they were overwhelmed and maybe at capacity. So hopefully they will improve their business practices in the future. But at this point, I definitely would NOT recommend TME for any wedding or party planing events. read more

Dania is wonderful- due to time zones we had calls at off hours and she was very accommodating! We were also able to drop items off ahead of time due to our schedule. I chose Dania and her team as my wedding planners based on reviews. I can happily say they did a stellar job and made my wedding everything I hoped for and even better! The first time I spoke with Dania on the phone I had a great feeling about her. I had my wedding at the Plantation Estate in Kaaawa. Dania hadn't been to the location before so she drove out across the island on two separate occasions to photograph and take measurements so she could do detailed layouts and diagrams of how the ceremony would be set up. I chose a whimsical vintage tiki theme for the decor and inspiration. She turned our pool house pavilion into a true tiki bar! She even brought puffer fish, glass floats, and fish netted the whole ceiling to mimic a vintage tiki bar. I didn't use her bar service because I made my own drinks( I'm a bartender) but she rented me some really great tables with tiki faces and a tiki bar and glassware to match my theme. She even saved me money by making the bar herself using bamboo fencing instead of renting from another company. A huge shout out to her assistant Tasha for saving the day! My cake vendor wouldn't deliver on my day because they already had to many deliveries that day so she drove to Honolulu to pick it up for me. On top of that I messed up super bad and miss measured my tablecloths leaving half my tables exposed so she also went to the fabric store to buy new ones. She and the other assistant also helped tremendously with staying after and cleaning up. I was hesitant at first to spend so much money but I'm really glad I did. It was so worth it. This is way over due review I was married at kualoa ranch in June 2019. We interviewed so many planners and decided to pick Dania. Everyone on the island (most of our vendors) already knew Dania so it helped so much with communication between everyone. I'm from California and Dania took the time to visit my wedding site Kualoa with me for the tour. Through out planning Dania answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable. When it came closer to the wedding my planning was turned over to Tasha. Tasha did a great job at finding a fire knife dancer for me last minute when my family member was unable to make it to the wedding. On the wedding day everything went pretty smooth. After, Dania was very accommodating by letting us donate some of our wedding supplies to her so that we didn't have to lug a bunch of stuff around with us on our honeymoon which was super helpful. We booked Tropical Moon for their full bar tending services for our wedding at Lanikuhonua. Dania was so easy to work with and answered all of my questions very fast. I didn't really have an idea of what kind of drinks we wanted to serve, just that we wanted an open bar. She gave very helpful advice about our drink selections, type of alcohol to buy, where we can substitute cheaper stuff without losing quality etc. The shopping list she provided was a life saver. We didn't do anything crazy; just beer and wine, but I loved how easy it was to communicate what we wanted/needed and their quick responses. Kristen ended up helping me with my daughter's wedding after the original person I spoke to left the company (graduated from college and got a job in her field), and I was nervous when I found that out. But Kristen as incredible to work with and she transitioned everything perfectly smoothly and had wonderful ideas for me. I was referred to Dania and her team at Tropical Moon Events from our caterer. I didn't realize I needed a vendor until close to last minute so I rushed to get into contact with Dania and she made it a breeze to put together a cocktail list and quote. I was happy with the drinks, they were absolutely delicious! The bartender was great and brought drinks over to me whenever she saw me empty handed. I am giving her 5 stars but I have two very small critiques. First, we started the cocktail hour before the ceremony and it went a little long due to poor weather. I wanted everyone to enjoy the delicious drinks we had to offer but for some reason the bartender would only serve beer, which was not my plan at all but it is what it is. Second, the shopping list we were provided I thing was over calculated. We had so much alcohol left over, which really isn't a problem we were there for a few more days with family and was able to pawn some off to relatives. However if you're traveling the next day it would kind of suck to have so much left over and have to throw it away. Like I said for us it was no problem but just something to keep in mind. We used Tropical Moon Events for our bar and coffee/tea service. We bought and brought our own alcohol selections to the venue. We had our own event coordination service through our wedding venue. We worked with Dania to get our event details and requirements down, the entire process was not complicated. The bartenders and staff were courteous and friendly. The drinks were delicious ( I only got to try two, but I heard good things about other cocktails). The staff were professional and the bar looked wonderful. Drinks were made well and had great presentation. There was an issue with the coffee being under flavored due to insufficient heating, so lukewarm under-flavored coffee was served. It turns out someone accidentally unplugged the coffee pot boiler, so it didn't have enough time for the coffee to brew. Upon finding out about this, the staff came and apologized. I appreciate the way they handled the issue (and not hiding it, or blaming it on someone/something else), and they also offered to try to warm up the coffee through other ways (though there were limited means due to lacking in equipment). All in all, they met my expectations, and I would recommend Tropical Moon to anyone, and would use them again if the need arises. read more

We live in NY and planned our wedding on our own, and Dania was so accommodating with the time differences and working with us to make sure that the food service portion of our wedding went smoothly. Even with the 6 hour difference, she answered our calls and emails in a timely manner and really gave me (the DIY bride) a peace of mind. We had our wedding on a private estate all the way in Laie, without a wedding coordinator or planner, and I just left notes for them everywhere in the vendor kitchen and they did everything as the notes asked. We had TONS of food catered that needed to be put into the chaffers (in a very specific order and with guests with dietary restrictions), as well as appetizers that needed to be prepared and set up and they were perfect. We provided our own alcohol for the bar but they provide all the mixers and garnishes. The staff were very friendly and professional and they really made the evening a breeze for us. Dania was amazing to work with while planning our wedding. She helped us put together a great cocktail and drink menu and all of our guests were so impressed by her homemade and fresh ingredients. You could really taste the extra love and attention that she put into creating the cocktails. We chose 3 specialty drinks including a Lilikoi mojito, fresh strawberry lemonade with vodka and a homemade Mai tai. We had our wedding at Sunset Ranch on September 8, 2018 and hired Tropical Moon Events for our bartending services. Can I just say that out of all our vendors, this company was the most accommodating, nicest, and overall most amazing to work with. They gave me no stress at all during my wedding planning experience so I highly recommend them! Dania and Andrea were super helpful and very patient with my million questions! Andrea's title is the "Administrative Superhero" and it's so spot on. Every question I had, she quickly responded. The bar staff on the day of our wedding was honestly the best! They were so so so nice, welcoming, friendly, and just all around personable people. They treated our guests VERY well. Our bar was an open bar all night and our guests thought it was crazy but we truly wanted to spoil our guests and give them the best experience ever since most traveled from town to the north shore. Along with bartending services, we had three specialty cocktails created by Tropical Moon Events and they were so delicious. Aside from bartending services and specialty cocktails, this company supplies everything needed - cups, napkins, equipment, garnishes, lemons, juices, sodas and even the cutest bar set up ever! We requested their adorable white bar sign and champagne linens, the set up was gorgeous! The only thing they do not include is the alcohol but that's the beauty of it because you can bring whatever alcohol you want and whatever quantity you want. It was super helpful that they gave us a shopping list with suggestions for the amount of guests attending. We followed their list and we had enough alcohol to last the whole night. Overall, drinks kept flowing and our guests had a great time, the bar area became the spot at our wedding. I just would like to say if you're planning a wedding defiantly contact Dania! She is awesome. She does it all..wedding planner, bar services. I used Dania for my bar service at my wedding in April at sunset ranch. Without her and your team, my wedding wouldn't have been amazing if she hadn't been part of it. From day one that I contacted Dania, a year before my wedding, Dania was so helpful, personable and very understanding. I explained what I wanted and how much my budget was and she made it work. Dania was always on top of it. She would email, call and text to make sure everything was in order. She personally meet me and my fiancé at the time at our house to go over her services. Very detailed and organized. Again, Very reasonable with her rates and will work around your budget! I planned my on wedding so I didn't have her as a wedding planner but at the end I wished I had her as my wedding planner!!!! So at the end a year later you feel a friendship with her because of all the planning for this one special day. That's how I wanted the person that was helping me planned my wedding-someone I can trust and I found that in Dania!
