I picked out this super weird wine from the very back of the shelf and the owner couldn't tell us anything about it. Poured some drinks and it was so, so good- surprisingly so! Fast forward and it's that guys birthday a month later. I remembered the name of the wine and the image on the bottle, but that was it. I find it online. It's super hard to order. I get in contact with this beautiful company here, I email with Paula and talk to Shannon on the phone (they work here) and not only did they give me the kindest support and service, but they shipped the bottle of wine to me 9 states away in time for my guy's birthday! And it arrived early! I wish I could leave more stars- they deserve it. Bob's is in a very small strip shopping area. Parking has never been a problem. The store is properly lit. Mr. De Meo and his staff have been invariably polite and helpful, always greeting me and immediately asking me whether I needed assistance when I walked in. Knowiing the store I have usually declined.The small store is extremely well organized and easy to navigate, with wines separated by color and variety. I have always been able to score a decent sub-$10.00 .75 ml. Red to drink with my meals, usually a Pinot Noir. I will continue to regularly visit Bob De Meo's when I visit Troy.

There were significant issues with the website which the Empire team acknowledged were internal technical issues. This delayed ordering to a two-hour process (when it should take minutes) ! Plus a timely response to Empire about a vintage question was not acknowledged without calls back to Empire thus delaying delivery to multiple days where we had to be available to accept delivery. We had respectfully requested waiving of the shipping charge (which was a relatively small amount compared to the order) as a basic courtesy but our email requests were either not answered or later met with abrupt responses telling us No, margins are small . We believe professional and common sense treatment of customers should come first and that this situation should have been handled differently!
