We recently used Spokane Cremation & Funeral's services to help us send off our beloved son who died unexpectedly outside of town. We found the staff to be empathetic, knowledgeable, patient, and kind in all of our interactions with them. They were also respectful of our wishes and never pressured us to buy a product or package, or upgrade the service we selected. The staff there took care of transporting his body to Spokane, preparing him for our funeral mass, and proactively working with us to ensure all went smoothly. The price was far less expensive than two other quotes given to us by local businesses. Still, the highest standards were set by the staff, nothing looked cheap, and we received personalized service every step of the way. My Sister and I live out of state. Our Mother recently passed away. Almost every other Cremation & Funeral Service in the Spokane area had shady pricing policies. Many who advertised their services for much cheaper Than Spokane Cremation & Funeral Service ended up being much more expensive for a simple cremation service. All we needed was the cremation, A basic shipping urn, 2 death certificates, and to have our mother's remains and death certificate shipped to us out of state. With Spokane Cremation & Funeral Service the process was inexpensive ($1359) and we managed to get our mother's remains in less than 2 weeks. passed on 4/29 we got her remains on 5/8 with Both death certificates. Aiden even helped us with USPS Tracking issue. The only way I can think that Spokane Cremation & Funeral Service can improve is by not folding the death certificates and putting them in a large envelope. We are very happy with the services they provided especially for the price. read more

It's been about 5 months since my father passed away. The grief is still there, but what Jasmine gave me and my family really helped us find closure in the face of his sudden passing. My dad had already chosen Spokane Cremation and Funeral and pre-paid for several services because of the money for value. (I'm also really glad that he had done that so we as the children didn't have to do the reserach, etc. I'm definitely going to do this for myself now that I know how it alleviates the pressure on my family whenever I pass.) But he hadn't arranged any memorial service. He also didn't expect to pass away while out of town. Jasmine and Bill did great helping us (who live on the other side of the country) arrange for his body to be transported, arrange meetings when we got into town to make arrangements for a memorial service, etc. The only thing that could have been better is the presentation of his body. His skin color was... not life-like. And his suit was a little baggy on him. It would have been nice if they could have chosen a different foundation color and fitted the suit to the body a bit more. But that's the only thing that disapointed me. Jasmine walked us through everything patiently and kindly. Somehow, even in such a devastating moment, she was a shining light. She encouraged us in our endeavor to create a memorial that was unique, creative, and meaningful to us. They let us decorate the space, move furniture around, and she even helped us do all of that and load our car afterwards. She had great ideas to add and was so easy to work with. They were also very careful about privacy. When one of our memorial attendees called to ask about it, they clearly stated that they were not allowed to give any information or confirm whose service was going on. While that might be annoying to some people, I really appreciate it. To be fair, this is the first time I've dealt with anything like this. But I have organied a lot of events in my life, and this was a great experience. We were not pressured to buy anything like a nicer urn or jewelry. They were on time for all of our appointments, etc. The building is simple and the parking may be a little limited for some families (though plenty for us). I trusted them with something very precious and was very disappointed. First, almost a month after this death, they never reported it to SSA like they said they said they would and I had to do it. Second, I received the ashes on a Wednesday and two weeks later, no death certificate. I call and learn it was still on their desk and it would be sent to the health department to have it printed. Third, the ceramic urn wasn't sealed like I requested, almost causing a drop. And finally, they did not fill the necklace I bought like I instructed and I only found out when I went to the beach to spread its contents to learn it was empty. I called the funeral home and was told I wouldn't be able to see any ashes since the pendent is so small. I told him I didn't see any dust and inside was clean and shiny. He tried to tell him again it is a very small amount I wouldn't see. They asked if the screw was flush or embedded. I didn't remove the screw so didn't know. Now they want to "inspect" it after reviewing his file. This place is a joke. Their attention to detail lacks and their customer service is worse. Even the military flag they gave me wasn't normal size and won't fit in any case I bought. It had to be refolded by the military men. It was just one thing after another, even four months later. read more

I had a terrible experience at spokane cremation back in October. I think every other customer needs to know that the people who run this business are totally desensitized to the horror of losing a loved one. We lost our uncle and desperately wanted to see his body, be with his body for our private funeral service before his cremation. They would not allow us to view his body and asked us to pay $100 to view his body. Which I thought was absolutely atrocious to ask for money when fees are already being paid. They demanded that we have him shrouded and that we could only be with his body for 15 minutes. We showed up for the viewing with our cousins, his two sons. The tears flowed and emotions were so deep and meaningful. It is a honor to be with your loved one after death...We were in the room with our uncle and trying to go as fast as we could but being rushed through any sort of funeral service is absolutely unacceptable About 15 minutes in, the two girls who work there I believe their names are Shannon and Jessica came in and said they need to take our uncles body away, and I said we really really need more time and they rolled their eyes at me and went and told their boss. I forget his name but he is the one who owns the business, the one who does the cremation. It was the end of the day and I could tell that they just wanted to get the cremation over with so they could go home and have dinner with their families. The owner then came in all huffy and puffy and started yelling at us that we had to leave. Legally we had every right to be with our uncles body for our funeral for however long we want!! Legally we could have stayed with his unembalmed body for hours. He even threatened to call the cops!!! We were in tears asking for more time because we were not done honoring his life, his body. It was absolutely atrocious that they took him away out from under our crying eyes and broken hearts. The whole experience was just disgraceful and I do not recommend this facility to anyone please take your business somewhere else these people do not deserve this work. My grandmother passed away on August 26th 2018. Her and my Grandfather has their services paid for in advance. When my parents went to inquire about services for her remains the older woman was very kind and friendly. However, on return the older man I assume who was her husband was very rude and lacked so much empathy. When we walked in they were in the back room talking. No one came up to greet us until we made quite a bit of noise after about 10 minutes. Then the man asked what we needed. He went and retrieved my Grandmothers ashes. My Father spoke about how my Grandparents had been married for 67.5 years and he was really going to miss her but at least they were together again. The man said absolutely nothing. No acknowledgement or I am sorry for your loss. Nothing. We chose to go to them because they are family owned and we believed they would treat us well. Losing a loved one is never easy, but when someone who is handling their remains is less than pleasant it makes it even harder. read more

Wonderful business ran by the sweetest and caring people! They are by FAR the BEST PRICED funeral home in the area! We had used another funeral home the year before and they where many thousands more for the exact same services that Spokane Cremation and Funeral Service charged us. We had a traditional casket service at Spokane Cremation and Funeral Service and everything went perfect. Their chapel service room provided all that we needed for the service. They did a great job with the picture and music dvd and beautiful service brochure. They made a sad and tough time easier for our family. They are absolutely top notch and professional. The casket was high quality and cost less than the same ones online at Costco. Other funeral homes sold this same casket for over 5 times more! Spokane Cremation and Funeral really treat people right. They charge a very fair price which is unbelievably low compared to all the other funeral homes in the area.
