Four computers dedicated to kids, but not nearly enough for peak times. After school the kids stack 2-3 deep waiting for a turn. There are four little study nooks with power outlets, and plenty of other seating and tables. The whole back wall is glass and they did a beautiful job. Open concept favors safety and security but sacrifices volume as the noise tends to bounce everywhere. Overall a huge improvement but easily strained by the volume of users during peak times.

She was precise in her answers and I am impressed with how many resources are available to patrons. The day previously, I also had another positive interaction with a different librarian who ensured it was possible for me to conduct the interview. Very pleased with my interactions.

Pretty decent library, and one that typifies the turn libraries have taken in the past 10 years or…read moreso from simple, functional, massive collections of stuff (books, typically), to more inviting and multi-functional community spaces. Which is to say they don't have a huge selection of material. It's actually a little shocking how few shelves they have, and of these, maybe 70% is devoted to books and the rest is DVDs, CDs, games, Audio books and so forth. There is a massive open space devoted to children, with whimsical spaces for kids to hang out. Lots of comfortable seating for grown-ups as well, and it's functional and clean. Overall the design and aesthetic is top-notch. Beautiful, high ceilings with warm lighting. Floor to ceiling windows surround the majority of the building letting in lots of natural light. The location is a bit odd, and I'm guessing they figure the space will be filled in with more density 5-10 years down the road since right now the surrounding area is a bit under-developed. The park right outside makes the library a great 1-2 punch for an outing with kiddos. Bathrooms are clean. Lots of conference rooms for groups. Contracted security on-site every time I've been here, which is both good and bad depending on how you look at it.

As a fiction lover, I was thrilled to find books by all my favorite authors, as well as everything trending on Book-tok. Beyond the books, they have a dedicated section for greeting cards, stickers, adorable magnets, tote bags, and stationery, plus a large area reserved just for children's books. Campus was beautiful as it mixes in the nostalgia of the 1800s with some new touches of the millennium. Definitely felt the sports town vibe here and the pride it has for its sports. I've indentured myself to one too many libraries over my 33 years. I can't help it, reading is…read morecool. Watching TV never really stuck to me if I had a good book around. My years have taught me to always have a few good books to read somewhere. Fast forward to two kids later and I laugh at the notion of ever immersing myself in television or literature again. Now I just want good, easy, important and fun activities for my free (yah right) time. I wasn't expecting much out of a small community library, however this branch far exceeded any preconceived notion. One, the grounds are beautiful. It's apparent that there is a team behind the library that works to make being outside just as peaceful as inside. I often spend hours with my youngest right outside the library door while my oldest works in Lego Club. Yes I said it, Lego Club. Are you kidding me Liberty Lake Library? Not only have you pinpointed the one thing my son loves above all else in this world, you created a community for him. Priceless in my eyes.
