The price was also "marked down" 50% on both so what would have been a $120 pair cost me only $60. They also had sizes 11.5 and 12 in both. Another surprise. The only thing they didn't have was a pair of nylon socks, so I rolled the dice again and took a dirty, likely germ-infested sock from the used sock box and hoped to leave without getting plantar warts or else some other unrecognizable fungus. Three days later and I haven't had to visit either the podiatrist or dermatologist. Before entering the store, I got distracted by the sales rack and ended up picking up a $10 t-shirt and a $32 pair of running shorts inside (not on sale). The cashier/manager told me he could save me 20% on my total at the counter by simply providing my name and address. Not my email address, which would have likely resulted in me getting bombarded with unwanted spam, but my physical address. Easy enough. My total came to just under $90 and I left one happy shopper.

In fact, Decathlon only opened its first store in Canada last year (2018) in Brossard, QC. Their prices are fairly low and all their items are their own branded stuff, so don't go expecting any Adidas, Nike, or Under Armour, lol. I see it as sort of the Ikea of sporting goods. They had really cheap sportswear. I saw shirts and shorts going for $5-7. Obviously, they had clothes that cost more as well. They had lots of inexpensive yoga and weight lifting accessories too. They had lots of sporting equipment like skis, bikes, rackets, hockey sticks, basketball nets, etc. The store is really big, brightly lit and well organized. There's a cafe inside run by Think Lunch. From what I saw, selection was limited and on the pricey side. There's an indoor basketball court in the store, and a friend of mine told me that if you sign up for their membership, which is free, you can book their court for free. I don't play basketball, but if you do, you have a free place to play year-round, which is pretty cool. The store is in a big strip mall. It's right next to Giant Tiger and will be next to Adonis, which is being built at the time of the writing of this review. Same strip mall as Food Basics, Dollar Tree and Party City. Lots of free parking.

For clothes, yes come try, check out their sales. They also have a great selection of boots and shoes. Their clothing is varied and I appreciate them having a store brand. We actually like a lot of the store branded items. They seem to carry lots of sporting stuff. I would say a good strong selection of camping, biking, skis, hiking, and... climbing! I love their climbing selection. They even have ice picks. I would say definitely talk to their staff if you have questions. They are knowledgeable and helpful.

We were told we could order the bike and have it shipped to us, but we would have to assemble it. We asked who would "safety" it then? They reply it doesn't need one... so can we just buy the f***ing bike I ordered. Place it full of asshats. Re-routed our trip to pick up on the return and didn't even get the book or tag it was supposed to come with.... But apparently it's been "safetied". If you can avoid these assholes do so.

There are lots of big box stores with hockey equipment, but Valiquette Source for Sports combines selection with dedicated customer service.

The Marshalls here is not as good as the Marshalls at Trainyards but it's not bad (if you like these kinds of stores, which I do - brand names at discount prices, count me in!). There were big renovations to this mall leading up to the grand opening of the Marshalls. It's no longer dark and grungy. It's bright and very spacious now. Although the lack of tenants makes the mall look rather sparse. There's still a Farm Boy, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Sportchek. T&T Tailors is still there (and they are still great). I think the shawarma place is gone. There's a Pizza Pizza instead. There's a rug store, a tanning salon, a hair salon and a cell phone accessories kiosk. And a handful of other small stores. The weird thing is that some stores are not accessible through the mall. You have to go outside to get into the store (i.e. Payless Shoes). There's lots of free parking, which is always a plus. I only go here for Marshalls, Farm Boy and T&T Tailors.
