I really want them to be good but I've been disapointed at this location with VERY limited inventory. No small Canadiens jerseys. Skate sharpening closed on Saturday and Sundays... I want this store to be my one stop shop and I spend well over $5,000 per year but this place is making it imposible. Unfortunately this isn't the one stop shop for any real hockey player. We went to Pro Hockey Life today to find a helmet for our son after striking at out at the usual sports stores. Since our son has an oddly shaped head, the off-the-shelf helmets didn't fit, and it took the very patient store clerk Nick a while to find a helmet that fit our son perfectly. Nick then went above and beyond to find a custom cage to suit our son's helmet, catering to size and colour. We had gotten side tracked and also ended up trying on skates while Nick installed the custom cage - we had thought the store was open till 8pm, but as it turned out they close at 6pm Saturday's (which we didn't realize till we walked out the door) but the staff never once made us feel rushed and stayed open an extra 15 minutes. What amazing service!! I'd been there several times in the past to buy some of my own equipment but this experience was the best yet and we'll be back for sure!! They had great sales for both helmets and skates too, so the price was right to boot! read more

There is a sterotype about Canada and its love for hockey. Well, it ain't a stereotype. It is true. Want proof? Where else would you find a huge sports store dedicated to only one sport? And when I say huge, I mean it is a WAREHOUSE of hockey stuff. In fact, it shares a building with an indoor self-storage facility that is only marginally larger in volume! Pro Hockey Life sells everything hockey. Period. You can buy goalie and skater equipment, team sweaters, skates, sticks, tape, pucks, jocks, etc. They even sell collector hockey items. You can shop for yourself or for a whole team. This store does it all. I love the fact that they have in-store areas for testing stick shooting and testing skates. Only in Canada... If you are not such an ice hockey fan, you can still find in-line skates. The staff is VERY knowledgeable, but can bring it down if you are not exactly an expert in the sport. Like me. read more

I went out of my way to come to Pro Hockey Life. I have to buy my son a new helmet and Skates for his upcoming season. They had a great supply of Hockey equipment. They had a crap load if sticks, and my son had fun testing sticks out on their synthetic ice. They had a number of skates and helmets but I decided to buy his equipment back in the USA. I though I would find better deals but it was cheaper to buy his equipment back in the USA. The staff was friendly and informative. I was hoping to buy some swedish wooden balls but they didn't sell any. Nice place to visit if you are Hockey crazy. read more

It's hard to find a good hockey store in the States. I've been to Hockey Giant in Minnesota, which is big, but Pro Hockey Life was much better. The store was laid out better, all the equipment is arranged neatly and efficiently. I appreciated the large memorabilia section and picked up a San Jose Sharks 3rd jersey. The selection here is excellent. It seemed like they had everything. There were cute touches like the conveyer belt with advertisements going around the top of the store or the goal net and crease area where you can stand with goalie gear and check out your apperance in a mirror. They also have a Rapid Shot machine where you can practice shooting pucks. I thought I would have to pay to use it, but they let me shoot for free! You can get your skates sharpened in the back. I feel good about a place that lists prices for a custom radius. It means they probably know what they're talking about. There are also TV monitors blaring the lastest hockey news. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Hockey, hockey, hockey, that's all they have and that's what you get! read more

went to Pro Hockey Life on 130th in Calgary Ab. to check out some higher end senior hockey skate at 10:30 Thursday morning . spent 30 minutes waiting for anyone to help me out. Only was 1 other customer in the store but still no help so I left I will never be back their service sucks. On the other hand I went to the store at Cross Iron Mills on thursday evening Mike helped me out . He was a great help ,explained things and I ended up with skates a new hockey bag and another hockey stick spent around 1000. Thanks Mike for your help read more

Really disappointed with their service in the Kanata location. I called in ahead of time and spoke with a manager to confirm they would do custom pro stitching on a jersey I had bought elsewhere, he said they did it all the time and to come on in. Before the work was done I had to pay $112. They told me the jersey would be back within 3 weeks, usually no more than 2. The day before the 3 week mark I got a phone call from the manager, no voicemail was left. So when I called the store back, he came on the phone and said he would have to refund my money because the company the contract to refused to do the work. just picked up new skates and i asked to have my sticks cut, the manager told me to pay 10$ instead of doing me a small courtesy after spending over 500$ in his store. not cool. bad business. will go to valiquette's to buy my kids' skates. read more
