I needed everything checked and tuned up to make sure that I hadn't bought a clunker and that it's ready for this cycling season. Got everything checked and it turns out I got an excellent bike and the complete check up and tune up only set me back $23. The repair guy also was super helpful and gave me tips on other accessories that I might want to eventually add to my bike like types of toe-clips and bike locks. It was pretty effortless.

And they told me to use a phone to call someone, and that someone forwarded me to their colleague, who is apparently a voicemail machine. The only better part about the second group is that they told me bixi doesn't exist anymore. Those were the highest rated places around. Well there was one more place nearby, so figured to give it a shot. Finally came here, and guess what? They .. rent bikes. $15 for 4 hrs. Very reasonable. Great bike, it was a Norco. Rode all around Mount Royal and it was a breeze. Brought it back, no hassle. Don't bother with the other guys, who may or may not have bikes and don't even know where to refer you. These guys will take care of you. They have lots of bikes and the guys seem to know what they're doing. Highly recommended.

I was promised a turnaround time of 3 to 4 weeks but instead had to wait 3 months. When I received the bike back it was delivered with flat tires, and improperly adjusted brakes and gears making it un-ride-able. Under further inspection there were various bolts and washers missing, and the crank spindle was installed without grease when it should have been. Further I was assured by the store's owner that everything that it went in for was fixed, however only a portion of the tings were fixed.

They took it and told me they would send it to North Face to get it repaired. They said it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. We are in November now and I didn't get it back yet. They first lost my file so it took a while before I got any information on my coat. Then they told me it was North Face that was delaying it and they would receive it early November. Of course they didn't call me to do the follow up. In fact, they never did any follow up at any point in the process: I have to call and almost harass them to get information on my coat. There's only one person that manages the returns there and she only works during the week, which make it hard to reach her. When she's not sick or whatever. I also bought a bicycle there. Service was super slow, it took one hour more than what they told me it would take before I could leave with my bike. They charge for stuff like reflectors while most stores will just give them for free. I'll never buy there again, which is sad because it's at 5 minutes from where I live. I think it's worth the transport to go to La Cordée or other more stores with decent service.

I held off on a negative review for nearly a year, giving the benefit of the doubt. I purchased a Schindelhauer bike from them and the online payment system calculated purchase and shipping (great price). This was a mistake with the payment system and I called the next day and we figured out shipping. The bike arrived damaged unfortunately. I took dozens of photos and tried to submit to ups directly. Unfortunately a damage claim has to be submitted by the shipper. This involved UPS and a shipping company they use called freightcom. Velo lifestyles blamed freightcom, so I reached out to freightcom.... They blamed velo... you see where this is going. Keep in mind this is nearly a year into this! I had an unusable bike until the manufacturer actually sent me a fender to mount. I originally had tried to bend the damage away from the tire to make the bike usable. I give credit to Schindelhauer for providing the part... it really wasn't their issue. Velo put it off so long I emailed Germany and got it myself! They now claim that they no longer ship to the United States due to shipping issues. I would avoid purchasing from this company due to a shady handling of the shipping claim. They seem nice on the phone and might be a good option if you pick up in person. I can speak to my experience with them. I would avoid any business that won't support their customers or stand behind a sale.

All I know, the cafe has a bike hanging on the wall. The place took me by surprise; it is a boutique of bikes and its accessories. Plus they repair the bikes too. When you enter deep into the boutique, on the left hand side, there is the coffeeshop. It's an interesting concept. While your bike is being repaired, have a cup of coffee! While you shop around for a bike, have a cup of coffee. The clerk/server was really sweet; she gave us tour of the shop and our lattes. It was bit bitter for my taste, but I was enjoying too much the place itself. We got to meet the owner, who showed his special bicycle that he used it to across Canada! Very impressive!
