I don't know where to start, went to the place, and offered to buy ammo at the same price they were selling it online. Basically told me, I'd have to buy it online and pay for the shipping. I also asked if they had any AK ammo in stock, and they told me they had zero rounds, when I walked around I saw they have a least five cases on the floor, when I asked about that, they told me they weren't for sale. Asked to look at one pistol and it was like I asked to pull their damn teeth one at a time. Finally let me examine one, I asked if I could make an offer, the guy said no, took the pistol back and made a show of wiping it down with a greasy cloth, like I had damaged it. I was specifically looking for 300 BLK, which was selling for about a buck a round at the time, which, was the going price on online auctions as well, they wanted 30 bucks for the same ammo they were selling online for 20. FURTHER, the reason for "New" ownership, is because the previous owner LOST or MISPLACED the records for over 2600 firearms, that were never logged in, or listed as sold. Sorry, but I don't get the ratings on this page. The shop has phenomenal reviews on GunBroker, and after winning an auction for a NIB 1911, I then found this page and thought maybe I'd made a mistake. I was sweating waiting for the gun to arrive, as a few on Yelp had said they ordered NIB guns that in fact weren't. All I can say is, the transaction went through in seconds, the auction price was fantastic... at least $200-$300 below current "Buy Now" market prices everywhere else... there were no "bots driving up the price of the gun"... the transaction processed in seconds, the gun shipped first thing the following morning, as the auction ended after business hours the night before... It arrived in 2 business days... and it was perfect... as advertised... still covered in original gun oil from the manufacturer and flawless. I was so concerned after reading this site that I'd reached out to my FFL to make sure he inspected it and took pics before I arrived in case I had to dispute the transaction. He told me he's taken deliveries from them before and had never had a problem, and said the comments calling out GB for having fake reviews are BS. So they've got amazing reviews on GB... amazing reviews on Google and everywhere else I've looked, but a whopping 1.5 stars on Yelp. Tells me more about Yelp than it does Sportsman's Supply. Contacted business and was given run around "This is a manufacturer's warranty issue" and told to send to S&W for eval, but promised a refund if necessary. Sent to S&W who generously repaired several damaged parts/areas and received the firearm back. It still showed signs of damage though so I contacted seller for a refund. Avoid this operation. They are a big seller over gunbroker.com. I won an item which was a gun part; to wit a barrel. A barrel does not need to go to an FFL. It is a part. Sportsman's Supply never shipped the item because they insisted that they needed to send it to an FFL. They do not know the basic gun laws -nor did they collect tax (and maybe the FTB should know about that). I was charged a "restocking" fee for an item that never left the premises; where a portion of the restocking fee was for shipping charges that were never incurred. There is an employee there by the name of "Taylor" who would be well advised to check her poor attitude and obnoxious indifference. Further, because gunbroker.com listed Sportsman's Supply as an A+ seller, obviously gunbroker.com cannot be trusted with their seller reviews. Accordingly, due to the experience with Sportsman's Supply, this will be the first and last transaction over gunbroker.com. I spend a lot of money on firearms, gunsmithing and handloading. Rating this place is difficult. While the older gentleman tried to help me and gave decent service when he could, the younger woman who handled most of the transaction was quite disappointing. I explained that I was new to weapons. She sighed many times like this was a big bother to help me. When I asked about maintenance for this one thousand dollar device, she suggested I look it up online. When I pressed to see if they sold products for cleaning and lubrication, she reluctantly took me to that section and handed me a box. I found an item on Gunbroker and Sportsman's Supply had quite a few of them listed. I had a maximum price in mind and I bid on and lost four auctions as they were selling for $40-50 over my price. The fifth auction I was surprised to find out I won as there were 28 bids. Real bids, no bots like others here surmise. I know there was no bot bidding as I won the item well under my maximum bid and 12% under MSRP. Sportsman's Supply did NOT bid up the auction and then sell to me at a price under what others were paying. I paid immediately and within an hour I received my tracking number. The tracking number became active that evening and the item arrived two days later. Completely new, unused, and in prefect condition with everything in the box. Drove up to pick up a gun broker purchase of ammo as I usually do, I was informed that they no longer allow ammo pickups in store they have to be shipped, nowhere on my auction page did it say that they were no longer allowing pickups for ammo. Their customer service was terrible they told me they don't have to post that they can just do what they want I said for them to show me in the auction where it was listed that they changed their policy. She found a new listing for something else that had it in it but not in my particular auction. I said I wasn't paying the extra money for shipping that they could cancel my order and I better not get a negative feedback on my GunBroker and they told me that it wasn't up to them it was up to GunBroker. They continue to inflate the situation and got me even more upset and mad they don't have any customer skills in dealing with customers in that store. I found an O/U shotgun on Gunbroker which exactly suits my needs, and after placing a bid wondered if it might be a good idea to check this store out before considering going any higher. I have never seen so many consistently negative comments made about a retailer anywhere, so decided to do some extra checking. From their online profile details, it appears to me as though they may be having bots do their customer ratings as well as driving bid prices higher. They have over the past 12 months 41297 positive comments with what looks like a high percentage coming from repeat commenters, 108 neutral, and 279 negative comments. In a perfect world it's possible that they could have roughly 14000 transactions commented on in a month.....so I called the store directly with a question, which the CSR answered but then said that he wanted to go take a look at the shotgun to see if there actually is such an item. I said "why?" and he responded "are you there?" several times before hanging up on me. My takeaway is that they have a very, very young staff with no knowledge of their product, no manners, no accountability, and I'm letting their bot outbid me. read more

I had been bidding on stuff from them on gun broker and getting out bid. I thought nothing of it but then I noticed the next day would be selling another one. Same pictures and when I read they are just stock pictures and not the one of the actual one I started thinking that was not right. The firearm I am looking for I am not willing to pay a certain price for. It is fair market price more than I would pay for it from Big Daddy. I was getting frustrated because after 4 times coming close to winnowing the bid and loosing 2 times to the same account then taking a screen shot of it. I realized they were using bots! I come to this yelp page and find out that others have said the same. The will not hurt for business right now. They have over 300k sales on gun broker so they might never go out of business, but if your thinking about buying from them don't. I think most gun stores are good to their customers and fair to the people. They are not and when I called about this issue they were very rude.
