Facilities are amazing but that's about where it stops in terms of positive reviews. I'm sure it's a vast generalization and perhaps each section of the complex is independent in operation BUT the kids gymnastics was a horror experience for our daughter - think lime time trauma! Trial class scared the child as there were no accommodations to welcome or educate on the routine. Fear developed quickly so a second attempt a week later was scheduled in hopes it was an anomaly but it wasn't. Things went from bad to worse. Office staff wanted to charge us as a second trial visit which was fine but they were ignoring the trauma in development and the submitted paperwork of enrollment (showing clear commitment but reticent due to 3 yr old reaction. We got through that, then there was the inflexibly and insensitive approach yet again as our daughter walked into the gym space. Less than 5 minutes and tears were like a river!!! We tried to dork out an option to arrive 15 minutes early in hopes to get a "show and tell" of the environment but the front desk were so closed minded even that wasn't an option. Great facility, however, employees should be better prepared to answer questions about facility. At entrance gate I asked which field was #1 as each field has assigned number. Employee answered it was second field past entrance gate. She was wrong - it was way in the back. As some people not familiar with layout, employees should be able to answer their basic questions. read more

Worst customer service EVER!!!! The parking and traffic caused at this place is dangerous !!! Would never come back !!!

This is my sons second year with GCA . The facilities there are amazing and the staff has always been professional and pleasant. They have always gone out of their way to be kind,courteous and accommodating.The coaches go way beyond what is expected of them. Not only teaching but also mentoring and reaching out to their students during difficult times. They have become my sons second family and I can not praise GCA enough! read more

CT Gym and Cheer is perhaps the organization with the worst customer service of any I have encountered here in Fairfield County. It is as if they are actually rewarded for rudeness, that is how rude they are. My child loves gymnastics, or I would never, ever spend a cent there. As it is, I am looking for other places to try -- perhaps even braving 95 to go to Chelsea Piers. I don't know why I thought it would be different than the old place -- the management from there walked across the street, but nothing else changed. The customer - particularly, the child - comes last. All they have going for them is location and facility. If you aren't already entrenched, run! read more

This is a review of First Person Sports, the laser tag facility in Sportsplex@Fairfield in Fairfield, CT. We just had our son's 8th birthday there and it was FANTASTIC!!! It was, in all honesty, the best birthday party he's ever had. We took the MetroNorth train in from New York City (only 72 min) and we walked to FPS from the train station with several of our son's friends. (FPS is literally right across from the train station, although walking along the huge parking lot takes some time). Keith and Rob and their staff were fabulous and made laser tag fun and easy for the nine kids and several adults who played. The equipment is brand new and amazingly accurate with fantastic range. The guns are heavy (5-8lbs), which makes them seem even more realistic. The boys, all decked out in vests and laser guns, were basically in a state of bliss and the adults had even more fun. Keith and Rob were careful to make it extra fun for the birthday boy--making him captain of one of the teams, letting him choose the other captain, making the captains responsible for retrieving the light sticks during one of the games, and making the birthday boy's birthday the code for diffusing the briefcase bomb (just like in the movies!) in another game. The facility itself is designed to resemble a post-apocolyptic airport, reminiscent of certain zombie movies and video games like call of duty and halo, with graffiti on the wall warning all passersby of zombies and the dangers of bathrooms, and bleakly stating that "All is Lost." We loved it!! Although we rented the party room for only 1/2 hour after the hour of laser tag, Keith and Rob let us take our time eating pizza and cake and then wrapping up the festivities (there were no back-to-back parties that day). Also, since their "x-box room" was not rented, Keith and Rob let a younger sibling watch cartoons on a huge-screened television while the 8 year olds were playing. Rob even found some extra birthday candles for us (since I forgot them back in Manhattan). The staff were as accommodating and helpful as they were knowledgeable. This place is terrible for girls gymnastics. When my daughter attended their over-priced classes for over a year, many comments about weight and body-shaming comments were made to my daughters co-gymnasts by at least three coaches/assistants. Do not let the facade fool you. This place was a waste and probably wound up seriously damaging the self-esteem of adolescent girls. Since we left and went elsewhere, my daughter has thrived and ranked well regionally and nationally. That never would've happened here. Shame on this place. They should pay for future therapy. read more

My kids used to ice skate here, and that would've been okay, except the instructors chatted with each other more than instructed students, and the class started later each week, and ended earlier, and there was never a manager to be found. We finally stopped going when one of the above instructors was so busy chatting, that she herself closed the heavy skating rink gate on a 5yos finger, and then completely mistreated him. (Did not even offer an ice pack, just tried to trivialize the pain by making jokes.) Okay, so that was two years ago, water under the bridge. I haven't been since, until today when a friend invited us to a birthday party. IT IS IN REALLY POOR TASTE TO PUT A BIRTHDAY FAMILY IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR POOR BUSINESS TACTICS. You charge for waiver filled out on site vs. ahead if time???? And it's the job of the birthday family to advise me of this???? They are supposed to be having a nice and sweet experience, and not worry about hidden costs to their guest! Aren't they paying you enough? UGH read more

this is possible the worst run kids organization that I have ever had the joy to be involved with. trying to work with the enrollment office to get my two sons enrolled in the parkour program is the most difficult processes that I have had to endure. from front desk workers, who do not know the options available, to the wrong schedule being posted on the web site; which when I pointed this out I received attitude and no thanks for the heads up, to either not being able to commit to a full school year program or having to commit to a 12 month membership when the summer classes are not even run on the days that they can attend. if you are going to change your schedule to match the school year then have a membership option to match. this is not rocket science. I have had the joy of speaking with the penny pinching owner, the flunky front desk staff and not one of them really wants to help. it is not about the kids or the a willing parent who wants to pay to have their children enjoy themselves, it all about the money with this place. they could not be more useless if they were getting paid double, but this would probably make them more greedy. letting two clients walk out the from door because you will need to charge them either twenty dollars more each month for the last two months of the school year after being willing to commit to the year or having to make you commit to an additional three month in the summer when your kids class is not even offered is pathetic. it should be about the kids not this cheap penny pinching mentality. good luck with this. every other review on here that mentions the nasty woman at the front desk is the owner who is just that, nasty and greedy. I will walk thru coals for my kids and trust me dealing with this organization is just that. all I am saying is that they should be willing to work with their clients especially when they want to use the services they offer and are willing to pay, just not extra. I hope they realize this an get their heads out of their ass. maybe they will get there act together. read more
