I was working a full time job all while working part time on my own business, untill I was able to go full time in my own business. I found myself tired, worn out , stressed ,lost, and not quite sure who I was anymore, outside of work. I needed a way out, I needed to find something to rediscover the spark within me. I was on Instagram one day and I noticed one of my clients posted a video of her dancing which lead me to dance community! And that is how I meet Krystal! She is such a fun person, an AMAZING dancing, with a dope spirit, and a big heart! Rediscovering dance has re-inspired me to be creative. I am a beginner heels dancer and really like how the girls are supportive. It helps to go to class because there is a mixture of levels in class from the advanced dancers who are AMAZING and down to earth; to the beginners like me who feel safe enough to try new moves even if you look crazy lol! The environment is supportive. The class motto is "Do You" Boo (and give Zero Fu$cks) lol. Which I believe is a great Motto to live by everyday. Not only will you have more confidence dancing you will also walk better in heels. This is more than dance it is an empowerment group! Also It helps watching everyone dance in class. Cause we learn from each other! You won't be disappointed! Come challenge your self and walk taller and more confident in heels cause you've practiced in the mirror ;-) ! I Hope to see you in class! You won't regret it!

I came in for my first class on a Wednesday evening, and Sarina and Vivien were instructing. No punchcard, Groupon redeemed easily, sign-in and ready to dance! I've been taking Zumba classes since 2011, first with Tasha in Elk Grove, a few Zumbathons in Natomas and Davis too. I figured West Sac isn't too bad of a drive for such a great deal. I love the energy and vibe, turn the lights down and it really is like a club. Songs and choreo are fun, definitely broke a sweat. I was new but it wasn't too hard to follow/catch on. About 15 people in that evening's class to get an idea of how crowded/popular, although I heard Tues/Thurs nights are more full. First Fridays they have 2 hour Zumba class, for $3 drop-in.

Best dance studio in Sacramento!…read more Top down, this is the place to go if you want to learn more about dance. It has various dance classes: k-pop, hip hop, jazz, ballet, etc. They also have youth lessons, and doing performances, studio rental. It has separate building for students lounge which has small gym, sofa, mini bar (honor system). If you are new student, there is special classes package discount!! Check-in upon arrival for the class. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The class seems always full as I observed the class before mine and the classes around my class. In short: this place is pretty hip and popular, good flow of people. For my hip hop class: it was around 40 people (mixed gender and ages). During hip hop class: the instructor was explaining step by step and section by section, to make it easy to everyone. What I like was he also rotated the class: so if you were at the back, you will be on the side or at the front at some point of the class. The class ended with full choreography, then students were encouraged to perform by groups and cheered by everyone. In overall, good vibe and community with great instructors. Parking: free in the complex If you are new, the GPS will direct you to the other side of the building which is the healthcare. The studio is at the back of the building, so after parking, to walk to your right side.

The following review is not a reflection of her in any way, shape, or form as she was phenomenal and my daughter admires her greatly. However, let me get into my most recent experience that will have me never coming back or supporting this business & I will tell anyone who asks.... Recently I attempted to book a booth so that my daughter and her friend from dance could have some extra rehearsal time outside of their company rehearsals to just rehearse and nail down technique. Nothing fancy, just hip hop style. I booked online through MindBody after being redirected from their website (awful confusing booking/scheduling system). When booking, I noticed it said that minors could not rent the studio -- which makes sense because they're under age and all that. However on the booking site, it did not specify that you have to be a "certified instructor with proper insurance" to book. The wording on the website (screenshot added below) implied that minors could not book the space without an adult present. Not a certified dance instructor but just a general adult. So cool, I'll sit with them while they rehearse and ensure they use the time and space wisely -- not an issue for these two girls but semantics. I booked online and everything seemed good. However, something told me to call the morning of just to ensure that everything was good to go as after my booking the studio I received no confirmation or reaching out of the staff which seemed odd but okay. When I called, the woman on the phone asked the girls ages. I mentioned they were 15 but I will be present with them the entire duration of using the booth. The woman then informed me that because I was not a certified instructor with the proper insurance this would not suffice and the girls could not use the studio we rented. She reiterated to me that it stated all of this on the website. I assured her that if that's what the policy is, that is not clearly communicated on the website and the verbiage reads as though minors cannot book but an adult can on their behalf but would need to be present. She said no. Cool, so we nixed that plan. I asked if since the policy was not clear and now we would no longer be able to use the space, could we please process a refund for the amount. She stated she could apply the credit for me as an adult to take a class but she could not process a refund. I am not a dancer and have interest in taking a dance class. My DAUGHTER is the dancer so applying a credit for me and me only to use is useless. I stressed this and asked again for a refund. She said no, "we do not process refunds". So now I am out money for a studio that I booked for my daughter to use with no clear communication of said policies, my daughter and her friend lost valuable rehearsal time they were looking forward to having, and I am left to wonder how many other people are they doing this to. It seems small but it's genuinely bad business practice. For a small business and dance studio you'd think there'd be better communication, professionalism, and overall customer service. I thought perhaps I was alone in my interpretation of the website verbiage but then found other reviews almost verbatim reiterating my experience. It seems if multiple people were misunderstanding the same thing (as noted in varying reviews), that as a business owner you'd want to clarify the verbiage so as to ensure the process is smoother for the customer/dancers -- however clearly it's not important enough to do so and it's coming off as a way for them to pocket money and not be bothered. Nonetheless, this is bad business practice and it makes the studio look money hungry instead of outwardly curating a space for serious dancers to grow. We won't be back. My daughter has danced at other studios in the area since our time with SDL and prefers them much more, however we were looking forward to the opportunity rent affordable studio space for a few hours of rehearsal on a Saturday. The studio itself is poorly laid out and crowded and doesn't curate the technique of dancers unless you join a Level Up or one of their teams so it's not too much of a loss overall but I would will never recommend this studio to anyone else in the future. The level of "we didn't communicate well but we also are keeping your money because we don't hold ourselves accountable" is shameful on the owners behalf. Don't go here. Don't give them your money. There are better studios in the Sacramento region with a better atmosphere and better customer service. Affordability for drop in classes seems like a great deal, but you get what you pay for -- low price = low standards.

We felt like the teachers cared about her growth as a dancer. There are always teachers who play "favorites" but I've yet to come across a studio that truly doesn't. But after covid, things felt different. My child suffered her final year...with extreme favoritism, yelling teachers (even for asking questions during classes?!), teachers who couldn't be bothered to show up and cheer them on at competitions (even the local ones), and expectations mentally for my child and financially beyond what our family was willing to continue to meet. My daughters growth plateaued as a dancer because there is no true technique taught past a certain age/level. The owner tried berating us for taking a last minute very serious mental health day when she was supposed to be a TA that night. No ma'am. And oh, the parent/company meeting where the dancers were told to leave their drama at the door? But boy did the teachers bring their own to class. Exclusion even written into their own competition contract about dancers not allowed to date each other (good luck with that!). The past 3 years' recitals were at the teen center for overpriced recital tickets and terrible seating unless you paid even more money for the front row. It was laughable. I debated writing a review, to wipe my hands of the studio. But people should know before they invest way too much $ and time. The only reason they received 2 stars was because of the wonderful ballet teacher, Ms Natalia. That's it.
