On Sept 20, 2019, 12pm I tried the Velocity spray tan. Woman was super friendly, shared a great amount of information/knowledge about the tan and her experience with the specific spray. From all my experiences with spray, I must say, Spray of sunshine provides great customer service, time efficiency, and prices for the tans. Disappointed. I am new to spray tans, looked for somewhere to go that was local and spray of sunshine came up showing many stars/highly rated. I thought great! So i tried it for a wedding initially, it did not last long, it was an airbrush, I asked for natural and I was orange, this was my first time trying this, it came out to be a little over $40. I figured I'd never know until I tried. So I figured whatever I'd stick to the spray booth next time. So then I got a special offer sent to me stating if you gave them a review for 5 stars and wrote a comment you'd get half off your service. So great, even better. Gave them a review on google, then I decided to try the spray booth. So I get there on time, made an appt. & waited at the front of their shop for 10 minutes if not more while the manager watched me from her car smoking her cig. No biggy, then finally she walks in with another employee who comes up from the back. So she Gets me into the booth, all is well, granted I am still new to this, but when It finish, I looked down at myself and oh my. It was uneven, darker in spots that others, and my whole body was like freckled. It spritzs me, and my feet, which are still discolored and were completely dyed, and this was with the barrier cream on them. I then got out of booth, explained situation, she can see that I look aweful too, and she replayed, "this happens all the time, and with your feet, it's not summer time, they aren't showing yet... they will be fine" then goes, "call me tomorrow after you shower if it turns out bad." So I do my thing, shower, give it time, scrub my feet, and it's aweful granted thank god i wasn't tanning for an event, wedding, you name it, but it was an aweful spray. I tried calling like she said, no answer, then called the next day, left a message, no answer, then again, and you get the picture, I am not getting a callback ... So thanks spray of sunshine for the incredible costumer service and clean spray booth! I totally understand where your 5 stars are coming from now! Pls do yourself a favor and genuinely start valuing your costumers, if you are going to ask for 5 star reviews than you need to start acting like a 5 start business. for a place that is supposed to make people feel comfortable, and leave you feeling confident, you failed at this for me and let me down as a costumer and I will absolutely not be returning. I tried this tanning place just yesterday. I was assured that I'd love my new tanned body. Instead I received a blotchy uneven unnatural looking tan and and not do great experience with the staff. Place was clean but that's about it. My hands, feet and face look pale while the rest of my body has already begun. To fade after I spent a substantial amount of money and sent out of my way to drive to Glen Ellyn. I am so very disappointed with my tab and unfortunately cannot recommend this place as otters have. I share my experience with all of you and I try my very best to be as honest and direct as possible. If you seek a golden bronzed tan-seek elsewhere. Big Bird spray of sunshine employee, Nikki, treated me and my daughter more disrespectfully than i have ever been treated! She was rude, arrogant, and and very unprofessional. We have been customers at Spray of Sunshine for the past 2 years, and that will be ending today. We mixed up our appointment time and were 15 minutes late. We apologized and explained how desperately we needed the spray tan because we were going out of town the next day. She rudely and loudly scolded us and said they had No Time!!! As 2 employees stood around staring at us. It was like she was trying to embarrass us in front of other customers. When we were leaving, she started lecturing my 16 year old on how to keep track of appointments. It was unbelievable. This was my first time getting an airbrushed tan. The salon was very clean and the staff was welcoming. She talked me through everything I needed to do from the way to stand to when not to breath. Love this place! As someone who spends her day prescribing creams for sun spots and cutting out malignant lesions on people's skin, ALL due to tanning bed use and excessive sun exposure, I applaud this place not only for the super-natural-looking-spray tans they give consistently, but that they promote healthy skin practices as well. Every technician I have used is welcoming, warm, and skilled at her craft. They make you feel very comfortable, (even when you are 95% naked!!) Recently moved to the area and needed to find a new spray tan location as my old one is in Chicago. I thoroughly researched where to go, as I've had my fair share of bad spray tans. The one thing I didn't want happening, was to show up on New Years Eve looking like a pumpkin, so I settled on Spray of Sunshine. Located in Mokena, this place kind of looks unassuming from the outside as it's in a strip mall with an accounting firm, but don't let that throw you off. The employees are all extremely friendly, and I was able to use a Yelp promo when I checked in to get my first spray tan for 20% off. They also gave me a promo for January for my next tan, and referral cards for my friends to get additional discounts. I was in shock that my tan was only $28 as I'm used to city prices! I got a full body custom airbrush tan, and the lady was super friendly and professional. I did not look orange, and in negative temps, I have a nice, healthy glow. I just had my first spray tan experience and it was fabulous! I have never wanted to try it because personally I always think people look orange, but a friend of mine had a great spray here so I tried it and had the same results. I was impressed before I even arrived because when I called to make the appointment, the man that answered the phone asked me if it was my first time spray tanning. He then told me what to do, what to wear, and what to expect after the tan. Beside the great spray tan I got, I was more impressed with the level of service and knowledge that Katie provided. She explained the various colors and was very real. She was super personable and made it very comfortable. I tried this place out for the first time last weekend because it's so close to home. I'm always really nervous about trying new spray tans out before an event. I think that's self explanatory though. The appointments are easy to schedule. I believe they have an online option for scheduling as well. I thought the prices were really competitive. The staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable. They offer a few different options as far as spray tans and also offer packages that give you a pretty good discount if you plan on returning. I got my first airbrush tan here a few days ago before a friend's wedding I had over the weekend. I was very hesitant but was shocked at how well it turned out. All weekend I had people asking me where I had been on vacation because my tan was perfect. First, they were super flexible with my appointment time. I called in the afternoon & was able to get in later that day. Then I was running late at work & called to see if I could push back my appointment & they had no issues with that either. The application only took about 15 minutes & the girl who sprayed me was very knowledgeable. I told her I trusted her to pick the correct color since I had never been airbrushed, or spray tanned before. She did a fantastic jon picking the perfect color. It has been 4 days since I was sprayed & I still have the perfect color. I can tell places where it is beginning to fade, but I also haven't been following the directions they gave me at the salon (lotioning will hold the tan longer). Had a horrible experience Friday afternoon. We had a big group come in for a wedding that was for Saturday. I looked ridiculous at the wedding and wished I hadn't spray tanned! I was blotchy and orange! I almost wonder if the solution has changed. Not to mention the girl who sprayed me was terrible. I'm not sure I'll ever go back after this last experience. After reading reviews I went to spray of sunshine to get a custom spray before I returned back to college. It was not for an event, but I am not impressed at all with my tan. I followed all the directions for the after care of the tan and it looks horrible. It's spotty, the color is already coming off excessively & I got the spray two days ago. My tan just overall does not look good. I'm wishing I would have went to la tan and got in the booth for the same price or less & get similar if not better results. read more
