I spent 21 years in the Air Force and and still work for the gov and I pride myself in treating people with respect and understanding, and the way she acted towards myself and others at the Dress giveaway, just for walking down the incorrect hallway....she should not be in charge of any organization and I would be leary about donating to a person like that. All she had to do was explain the mistake/rules in a nice and respectful manner. I overheard others talking about the rudeness from her as well.

What a wonderful nonprofit organization dedicated to our homeless, disadvantaged high school youth…read more High school is hard enough to get through but when you are lacking the basics like food, clothing, hygiene items and school supplies it can be really difficult and depressing. That is where this place can help. They are able to assist and support our youth with being able to thrive and stay in school to graduate. They accept donations and appreciate volunteers. They provide classes such as job research, job prep, setting life goals, life after high school, financial skills and other educational help. This can really change a young persons life if they offered the right tools to succeed. Clothing is offered for free at the little store called Betty's Boutique on-site with a high school student ID. I was happy to donate my daughter's old prom and homecoming dresses to this organization in order for a needy youth to enjoy their upcoming formal dance. They also accept monetary donations as well. If you live in the Las Vegas, Henderson area please consider making a donation to this positive and impactful nonprofit.

They have waiting area which looks pretty nice and clean , thay have watter and tables and chairs. After we all registered we were taken to actually room/warehouse were we packed the fruits. All the people were very friendly, older gentleman was super nice and polite. Gaby was also super helpful (she is the only one that I remember name) but they were all great. Definitely coming back here to volunteer. They have restaurant style kitchen where they prepare meals and lot of people were inside. It seems like everything is so organized and works perfectly. They tell you when they're in your area and you can just leave items out , marked BBBS and they will come sometime during the date that you choose. If you need to reschedule a pickup for any reason, you can do that too even up to the day prior to pickup and they will update the order with no issues. Our Mother is being starved to death because Paulette Clay continues to bump her from getting food…read morewhich is elder abuse. Liza Avila has been sent at least two emails telling her to reinstate our mother's Walmart ride the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. Liza lied to Marina and told her that our mother had canceled her Walmart rides which was untrue. Marina had sent her an email telling her to reinstate that but Liza just ignored it so that email is proof. Then CC emailed Liza to reinstate our mother's Walmart ride and Liza ignored the second request. It is very obvious that Liza has done this out of retaliation of our mother. Mitch one of the drivers had fallen to sleep behind my mother's dumpsters in the bus he was picking her up in. Our mother struggled to go to the office to see if he was up front and she called Paulette and Paulette started screaming at her over our mother's apartment phone which was witnessed. Then when our mother called Liza to tell her what had happened Liza rudely interrupted our mother screaming there is no story... I have already heard. That's the stupidest lie I've ever heard. What did she mean there is no story but she's heard it that's a stupid woman and she needs to be fired because she is the one that has caused all of this to happen because of her refusal to follow orders from two emails and retaliating against our mother and keeping her from food which she has been starving to death. This is all documented and witnessed by many people including documented by Helping Hands emails. Our mother just called us in heart distressed with high blood pressure telling us that Joe Rono, Helping Hands new scheduler bullied her on the phone and then Paulette Clay lied about our mother calling her and telling her that she had been injured on their large bus due to Janine's their driver neglect. Paulette asked our mother if she wanted to fill out an accident report. Why would Paulette ask our mother if she wanted to fill out an accident report if our mother wasn't injured. This Paulette can't even lie good. This Joe lied said that they have things documented. He doesn't even know what he's talking about he's lying also. Super cool volunteer event! The info was a little weird but I was able to find my way from all the…read moresocial media notes. Super cool way to give back on a day when so many don't have the luxury of a family and or the privilege that many of us do daily. You can do as much or as little as you are able to, and that's why it's so amazing. I got to meet some awesome volunteers as well as talk to some cool people. Some brought turkeys, roasted chickens, clothes, blankets, sanitation packets- served food! All and all whatever you can do you should and the people appreciate it! I helped to sort and fold and prep the clothes that were going to be donated, I served chicken on the plates and am ready to spread the joy and help next year too!

Gobble Gobble Give made my Thanksgiving amazing. It's my first year staying in town for the…read moreholidays and gave me something meaningful to do with friends while also making me use my time off work productively AND the obvious benefit to helping others. Win-win-win. Facebook event listing suggested attendees bring a hot dish, toiletry kits, and warm clothes. The kits were easily assembled after hitting up a couple Dollar Stores, and a friend and I spent the day before cooking up a feast of roasted turkey, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, sausage stuffing, green bean casserole, kale salad, and pumpkin tarts. The clothes were less emphasized due to our extremely warm weather. Event ran all day (9AM-3PM) and was fairly well organized. Volunteers had many options from directing traffic, sorting clothing, assembling and delivering plates, prepping food, etc. or you could just drive through and drop stuff off. I did a little of everything for the three hours spent there. GGG is a great group and the organizers were so enthusiastic and friendly. Looking forward to going again.
