While I agree with personal belongings and space this is a child coming here for help and you respond so coldly. First red flag. Since then I've called multiple times over the last 6 months as I was told they would schedule the three hour visit/evaluation but no one has ever called. I keep getting excuses about insurance and that they will call me back but I know it's them dropping the ball constantly. I've sent emails and still the same apology with NO ACTION!!!!!!!!! Why not just tell me to go somewhere else?!?!?!?!? My child is going to have to enter school at the same place we were last year because this crappy office halted her progress for a year. NOW she's on yet another wait list with VCU for another estimated 8 months. This office wasted my time and stalled my daughter's treatment. I cannot stress this enough- STAT AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I will also be telling my child's pediatrician about this so they may remove this office from the referral list.

I walked away from a career job making over 6 figures to having to go on ssdi. Dr.Latoya Bragg is one of only two psychiatrist in my 14 years of this struggle to not only diagnose me appropriately...she prescribed me medication to at least make me feel normal and get decent sleep. Im sure many of you struggle with the inability to sleep due to your mind is racing with thoughts at all times. I encourage you to seek her out. My insurance really is of no use for me bc shes not in my network, however, bc she is just that amazing and necessary for my mental health. I have no problem paying the fee she charges. I made this appointment thinking they were able to provide this. Once the appointment was made I saw they are unable to provide the medication I need virtually and I called immediately to cancel the appointment as this was not what I was looking for. Do to the fact I took the quickest appointment it was after the 48 hours because the appointment was booked after that timeframe. They have said that if I cancel I will pay $135 dollars even though they are unable to provide what I was looking for. I feel this place is predatory please beware. I feel as if they are taking advantage of people desperate for mental health care. I have reported them to medical board over this hopefully something can be done. Reply to comment I have reached out to that already and it was of no help. It was more run around and no one reading for clarity.

My two zoom appointments with a psychiatrist didn't go well. She had a radio (tv?) playing so…read moreloudly in the background I had put on closed captioning to understand her. The closed captioning was even picking up the words from whatever it was. The consultation was for trouble focusing so it was really distracting having noise in the background. I should have asked her to turn it off (I have pretty bad social anxiety) but obviously she thought it was fine to have a noisy room for our first meeting. The conversation didn't go well either. She was unprepared, uninterested, and rushed me. At one point she got visibly angry, and raised her voice because I wasn't sure how to answer a question. Then, it came up that my dad had passed recently and it was still affecting me. She failed to listen and multiple times asked me questions about my dad in the present tense. It got bad enough that I had to repeatedly say he is dead and not alive anymore, which made me distressed to the point I cried. She said nothing about my emotional state and didn't offer her condolences. In terms of the medication she prescribed, she barely went over how it worked, side effects, etc. I hoped it was just an off day and kept my next appointment. Regrettably, it solidified my initial impressions. Again she was rushed, and seemed indifferent. Then, in the middle of me asking a question about the medication she prescribed she said she had to go. Her next appointment was there and she just ended the video call. In total that appointment lasted 10 minutes, and I was early. I'm not sure if this all happened because of her specifically, or if it's a symptom of a larger problem at this cooperation. Was she deficient in her bedside manner and medical approach or has she been told to get as many appointments as possible? I canceled my account because I felt exploited when I was in a vulnerable place hoping for support. I had to wait a month to get into a different clinic but it was better for me to wait and find a competent/compassionate provider. The clinic director at thriveworks even reached out to me to talk about my experience... but then literally never responded after I sent her two separate emails. Seriously, find a different clinic, this place is terrible!
