That brings down the rating for the other therapists there, which is a real shame. One of the therapists here, Debbie Jockin, is BY FAR the absolute best and most effective mental health counselor in the area. She is the *only* one I've found here who is trained to practice the CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) "modality" (method of treatment). That makes all the difference. Every other counselor our family members have seen over the years have just seemed like talking to a sympathetic friend. This made us feel better very short term, and which could continue for years with little permanent improvement. Almost none of the counselors never mentioned or advertised that they use any specific proven psychological methods / modalities. Wikipedia and other sites have good summaries of what CBT is. It's a specific method of retraining your brain to stop unpleasant negative thoughts and moods. It really worked, and fast. I was able to stop going after just 5 sessions. Also, with CBT, you can continue doing the CBT exercise yourself at home for free, using free apps and worksheets, and it helps you address new problems. With the usual talking therapy, you have to wait for an appointment and pay to go back in to be seen. Debbie is also very nice, supportive, flexible, and insightful. She does other types of therapy methods too. Her listings mentioned Christian Therapy. I was nervous that might mean she wouldn't be very compatible with some family members who are something other than Christian, but it never came up. Our various family members have seen literally dozens of counselors over the years. I think we've seen practically every counselor in the Fredericksburg area who gets good reviews and is accepting new patients.

I had a real struggle trying to find counseling services for my 14 year old daughter. Debbie Jockin was recommended to me through a friend. She got my daughter in within a few weeks, where other places were quoting a several month wait. Debbie communicated with me, and my child at each visit. We discussed issues and goals, and I began to notice how the services were benefiting my child early in the treatment. Debbie not only uses conversation in the sessions but also utilizes helpful exercises to improve things such as active listening and maneuvering through moral dilemmas. Insurance/billing was communicated with the office manager Jen, who was always great, and got everything done in a timely manner. Overall, the experience with Behavioral Healthcare of Fredericksburg has been very positive, and I recommend this office to anyone with an adolescent who is in need of mental health services.

I have been seeing a counselor of Allied Transformations for about two years, and in that time, I…read morehave experienced tremendous personal transformation. My clinician is incredibly skilled, compassionate, communicative, and is exceptionally skilled at holding professional boundaries. As a military veteran with complex PTSD, I have seen a lot of counselors over the years and have never experienced the kind of progress in healing that I've experienced in the two years with Allied. Everyone at this clinic has treated me with respect, dignity, and confidentiality.

I do NOT recommend this practice. The individual therapists and docs are fine, but I am disgusted…read moreby the cold, disconnected, confusing, and inflexible way in which they interact with their patients. Their billing policies are absurd and make me feel completely disregarded, especially considering the technological challenges of navigating their new portal. People come here for help and are instead forced to deal with a complicated, confusing interface, and then callously told that they have to pay a lot of money if they don't get the technology right. Months ago I was held liable for a session when I had to reschedule inside the 24 hours required, yet I didn't get any kind of compensation when my new therapist canceled on me TWICE in two weeks AT THE LAST MINUTE. Now I am being charged $165 for barely missing my video meeting with my prescriber, when it was the first time I had used their cumbersome and confusing new system, which told me that my browser was not supported, and sent me scrambling at the last minute to figure out the tech as I was trying to log in. I even called the front desk to tell them that I was having trouble, and I kept getting voice mail. I requested that the charge be waived and I was sent an apologetic and "understanding" message from Billing, acknowledging the difficulty dealing with the new portal, but refusing to waive the fee. That is fucked up. I will not be paying that $165 and I will not be seeking services from RCC anymore. Their platform sucks and so do their policies. Find another therapist or therapy practice.....this place SUCKS.

I've been going to RCC for 5 years, never missed an appointment once, but was hit with an automatic $165 charge after a scheduling mixup (the appointment time wasn't what I had scheduled). They don't call you to check in or send reminder texts. This isn't the only issue I've experienced at RCC.
