The staff are experienced and friendly and my dogs and others I have seen, LOVE the ladies there, and actually pull on the lead towards the place! They are taken on proper walks, 3 times a day, and have so much attention, they are spoilt rotten! I can leave my dog there knowing he will be looked after and loved while i am gone. wonderful place for dogs.

I had to…read moreuse an alternative kennels this summer as they were booked up, and that is why i'm urged to review this buisness today ! The "alternative" was flashy, new, modern and eerily devoid of woofs, but my dogs were returned to me in a dreadful state. I have always gone to Bungalow Farm, and not once have I returned from holiday feeling guilty that I had place them there. The ladies are lovely, and took the time to address my worries. The dogs have walks out and playtime and cuddles, they are kept clean and tidy, and always seem happy and content going in , and when being picked up. The Lady who runs Bungalow Farm spent years as a veterinary nurse, which helped put my mind at rest. Please support these kennels! They may look a little "rough and ready" but the care my boys have there is brilliant ! I will always book well in advance to avoid having to go anywhere else !!

Upon complaining the owner said that they do not run a grooming service and do not have the facilities to clean the dogs and will not pay out for it. It was not a grooming service that was required here, it was just basic hygiene and cleanliness. It does not cost a lot to wash a dog or even wipe them down with a wet wipe at the very least. The owner said that the weather had been bad and so that is why they were dirty, and that the heating had been on which caused the dogs to drink more and therefore urinate more at night, and as they are small dogs they walked in it and it got on their fur. This is just a really poor excuse, as they are used to being in a heated house, and even so if this was the case, then they should have been cleaned, not just left to stink! It would not be acceptable to take a baby to a nursery and have them returned to you covered in urine and faeces, so I don't see why this is any different. Avoid at all costs as the owner seems to think dogs covered in their own waste is acceptable standards of welfare, contrary to their website which states that they give personal care and attention that bigger kennels cannot give... which is clearly not true!

Part of a national chain promoting themselves as being the big boys ' A one stop shop for all your…read morepet needs'. So you would think they would be getting it right huh? wrong. I guess I am a bit biased to start with, in my book its this kind of place that has killed off all the little family-run pet shops I frequented as a kid. The ones you would go in and beg your parents to PLEEEEZ let you have the bunny with the big brown eyes ( I never did get one). Well, Pets at Home certainly have the space, and because of it a wider range than your little local guy, they stock pet food, accessories, and livestock including rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and other small mammals, also birds and aquatics. They also I have found are reasonably priced - I guess cos they buy in such bulk. However they are missing the magic ingredient - 'love'. None of the staff in my opinion have that genuine absolute love and dedication to the animals that I like to see - and becuase of this are lacking in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm. I have rated the Tamworth store a 3 broken down as follows; Overall as a general Petstore 4 - not bad in terms of range and a good layout - just lacking that x factor in terms of service. The aquatic section I have only given a 2, its really bad. I would NEVER buy stock from there - the tanks are often quite badly maintained and I have seen far too many 'floaters' and diseased fish for my liking. I think that reading between the lines they do not quarantine properly - and the staff seem pretty clueless regards proper care regimes. The Vetinary practice in store I have to give a 5 for however - its outstanding in terms of service, price and ethics,. The husband and wife team that run it used to own/manage a farm in South Africa and are dedicated with a capital 'D' to animal welfare. Just don't ever take him a snake though- bizarrely for a South African he is frightened to death of them and refuses to touch 'em.

They have friendly staff. The store is normally well stocked and reasonably priced goods with various special offers at all time. The store also carries livestock of small pets like rabbits etc and a variety of tropical fish and birds. The store is located on Ventura Retail park with lots of free parking although at times the retail park can be congested with traffic especially at weekends.
